What is Rust? Rust is an INTENSE PVP multiplayer survival game that I've played for THOUSANDS of hours. I've gone on MASSIVE Solo adventures, clan wipes, HUGE raids and just about every experience under the Sun. It's a game that can have the most intense nail biting moments, or you can spend hours doing nothing interesting, The way the cookie crumbles can never be predicted and of course I save the absolute best bits for you guys. Whether it's PvP moments, epic counter raids or my clan messing with each other, everything you need to experience Rust is right here on the Max Mears channel. I hope you enjoy, peace.

See I'm at 600 hours, but I actually haven't PvPed much at all. Most of that time has been spent farming, planting and collecting crops (and making teas) to sell in vending machines, and most of all, building. I love building, and I think I'd say I'm decent at it. I've had compliments from some pretty experienced players on seeing my builds, including "damn near unraidable" a couple times lol. I build my little rat nests, set up my planters and shops, and survive. 600 hours in and I've never raided anyone and don't really want to, it's just not really of interest to me. I prefer to build and trade; I play by challenging myself to build a good base and keep it standing/as intact as possible. I don't attack unless attacked first or in defense of my lair
My base-builds started as complete ass though lmao but I've definitely learned! Every time I was raided in earlier games I'd look at how they got in and adapt. And, I've fortunately been gifted bases by higher-hour more PvP-centric players a few times, which allowed me to study how they had set things up. Those were absolutely the biggest boosts to my own building survivability.
I've uploaded a couple of my builds recently actually! Am in the process of recording this week's wipe on the server I main on, to show how I start and how I expand and fortify. Last wipe's I was quite proud of and was a bit sad to see it go lol :P
Two years ago there was absolutely no chance that you'd have lost any AK fight against a player with 400 hours. When recoil changed, I had 7k hours. I went from winning 95% of fights to winning 60%. It sucked. I hated it. Game sense, movement and patience started to play a far bigger role in fights because you could've given the game to my arthritic nan for an afternoon and she'd be capable of tripling me. That's how easy crouch spraying became. You had to learn to respect every player because gunplay was much easier and far riskier.
I think that's also a large reason why many content creators were against it whether they'd admit it or not. They went from being some of the best players to slightly above average in the space of a single update.
its just simply not fun to be punished for standing and strafing regardless of the recoil pattern if they just made the current crouch spray the same as standing id be happier

Just at the first revy crossy prim fight each player used more pistol bullets than I craft in an entire wipe…
I was grinding scrap last night. Had I known I was quitting the server today I wouldn’t had. But shot happens lol
I’ll have to check that ladder hatch in the research table on console. 125scrap is a fart in the wind. But worth checking out for others on console edition.
Pretty good show of hours not being everything, but the part I strongly disagree with is "The point of this is what skins you have with your hours as well". Economy shouldn't factor in imo.
Been loving this series over the past few weeks. Definitely have the makings of an enjoyable game show. General knowledge round and pvp round, then the winner gets to got best of 5 against a big name Rust player (don't pretend you can't pull some strings there) kind of like a mix between the Chase and the old arnie flick Running man lol
i dint't expected my comment will be used on video but this time you got better questions for this players. I didn't know you get both blooprints for ladder hatch if you reaserch in reaserch table.

I find it the other way around when it comes to t3 weapons (3.4k hours), I think its because i usually play trio or small team, and my friends do the premitive fights more than me (usually i snipe people with compound and my friends finish the pray). but once we get our hands on t3 guns, i turn into a human turret
Yes each glove is 5 sewing kits (and like 10 or 20 leather) then recycle however many you want. 😀
So you can make wooden leg armour, clothes crossbow and plenty of bandages :D Great stuff!
August 11 2016 was the day i got rust, and over the 2 years i played maybe 150 of them mostly Max events where i was preparing tools and mats for new people. But im a lot on Rust Labs for max sake, thats why i sux in PvP (copinum hard)
Yeah bro not everyone's idea of fun is sweating in PvP, half the best creators just do stupid stuff and mess around :D

before the recoil update this game wasn't for random 400 hour andy now as a solo beating a group is almost impossible or you get shot in the back by sone 50 hour dog with no chance to shoot back

Maybe invite well known rust youtubers to PVP or parkour tournaments.
i dont think i even research revolver, I go straight to t2, but i dont play much wipe day either so maybe thats the reason
If I ever get a server we'll have t1 only for 2 days, then t2 for atleast a day then t3 :D

I watched some other videos of the serie, its interesting, particularly since im in the same situation of this guys, low hours (relatively speaking) in rust but with a ton of fps experience. the pvp confirmed something i suspected but wasn't sure about. I think it would be interesting to see how it would play out if the test was based on other, more unique, aspects of the game like piloting mini, water combat, monument runs, advance jumps or advance building like wide gap, half gap or bunkers, electricity and automation. i think it would make for interesting content

in last village event i build base with honeycomb IN THE MIDDLE of the base, but the went door path and wasted like 30 k sulfur (we now that cuz first they raided hh base with around 34 k sulfur, and by the end they were throwing beancans and stuff) and stuff and whole night cuz of all the shotgun traps. it was in the "We infiltrated a TOXIC ZERG - Rust" video, or more like in the background cuz it took them whole night to raid and Mox had chance to befriend them cuz of my base raid.
TLDR I always build derpy bases, and they are not worth to raid.
That's a good idea for the next video, I'll get them to build the 2x1 like in the last "do hours matter" style video, but I'll also let them build something crazy, and look at raiding it.

I agree! I'm fucking ass at PvP, but I'd like to think I'm pretty good at building. I haven't had any recent builds raided -- the last time I got raided it was cause I forgot to upgrade 2 foundations from stone. lol that one's on me XD
