Nick actually did pretty well for his hours, definitely did a little overthinking but I think that comes with the territory of being a newer player Moxy was really interesting to see how different our thought processes are especially having similar hours myself The base design pretty interesting a little trickier than most so I cant really give either of them much shit
I like how the lower hour player was better at being a rat raider, scurried up and down the base before picking a direction then you got the experienced player who sorta knows roughly which way to go at first glance and just went with it haha

I usually don't hide my TC because I always have a multi TC base to stop griefing. But what i always do is split my loot. Raiders ALWAYS go straight to core (core being the bottom floor where TC is typically). They will hit the 2nd floor during that raid but ALWAYS completely ignore any floors above that unless there's no loot in core. I always keep just enough loot in core to prevent raiders from thinking 'that's it? there has to be more' and start looking.
Yes, once I really started building multi tc bases for my group I would still put loot in core and lose it all, I’m in college now and can’t play all the time, but before I left for college we played a wipe on Rustoria us main, I built a base with two hidden loot rooms on the edges of the base by shooting floor and when I thought we were about to be raided I transferred all of the loot to the loot rooms, I lost the 1v8 online raid but I lost close to nothing and was able to rebuild after raiders wasted all of their boom, nothing will beat that feeling of screwing over raiders
10,228 Hours here and lets see if i can make this make sense... 2nd base maybe i'd also do twig probably while they were online as a naked checking for the shelves/jump-ups and be "annoying" and building up on the base but listening for doors opening and closing as owner moves around in the base... also while doing that getting on the roof and looking at the layout, turret on roof I'd just slowly drain if needed.. granted this was much easier to do before the bag limit was put in place =] Once seeing that its a 2x1 core its SO common those end up being built into up and over designs ... will admit not having the TC on bottom floor would defiantly throw me for a loop too... 99.99999% of the time NO ONE MOVES their TC anywhere out of where they had it in their starter (exception being Very experienced builders or someone building a TH-cam base design that specifically lists moving the TC in part of the build video) .... myself personally when it comes to raiding I'm not there to find the cheapest path or to make profit ... if you've gotten under my skin enough that i'm (or us when we play in a group) are going to raid you i'll personally farm sulfur non stop till i know there is more then enough to wipe ur base and i'mma just pummel thru the side and open the whole thing up (typical strategy especially for raiding bigger "clan bases") i'mma raid the little base in the same fashion you've done something to earn the raid say good bye to your base either thats foundation wiping (it would shock you how many builds are left with stone foundations that end up going when ur blasting the sheet walls or other doors anyways) and upper floors coming down due to stability or just blowing the core and everything else wide open. ... when you're on ground level sending rockets into a base and also killing base owners (who are probably gonna have bedrooms on upper floors or at least a bag and a box of goodies) those rockets are gonna be hitting in 2nd floor and the ceilings (floor of the 3rd floor) that tc is gonna eventually be destroyed when the floors under it go. last thought is the amount of rockets / explo ammo to go from front door thru all those garage doors and around into core area following the door pathway to me always feels like it just ends up being more costly and time consuming (which leaves you exposed to not only base owner defending but counters coming from behind you) then it is to basically just side pummel 2 layers of walls ... hit hard and fast and open it all up surprise attack with brute force vs trying to be strategic and going slow calculating costs of every option as ur going... GET IN, Take Control, & Seal!! hitting hard and fast will surprise the base owners and leave em in a panic and thats when they make costly mistakes or they are just simply unable to drop what they were doing and gear up to defend.
I find this so interesting, the different thought processes that the players use on the same problem. Now as someone that does not play, each building element I am sure takes more munitions to brake. This might be a dumb question, if the outer foundations (the lowest part of the walls) were all knocked out, would that bring down half the building? Great video Sir and the two Attackers. Nothing dumb here at all! So as an example; Stone is 4 rockets Metal is 8 tockets HQM is 16 rockets. So if the foundation is stone but the wall is stone (which happens more than you think) you go ahead and break the foundation. Stability is HEAVILY effected making bits crumble off the higher floors and the wall will if there's no support within 2 foundation tiles. Great question! Love having non-regular Rust players
I will give you props on how well you split your loot up. I personally like to have multiple bags and lockers next to every bag for raid defense. I also never play vanilla tho.

Nick is a genius for his hours. Moxy has 1k hours more than me, but I think he did well too. Moxy wasn't really patient on the first raid and that is interesting for a player with his hours.
150 hrs in rust is basically spawning on the beach then struggling to get to outpost on wipe day Maybe 300hrs as the new low standard? Please pick me to partake in the videos in 600hrs haha

@@MaxsRust i couldn't begin to count the number of "low hour players" I've ran into in rust who have watched Rust creators on YT for YEARS before actually buying or playing the game themselves ... channels like this and all of the others full of tips and advice and just watching others play and seeing what happens when things go right and also what caused something to go wrong they already have a great understanding of alot of things that those of us who started fresh on our own 6 + years ago had to figure out the hard way
25:38 for experienced builders the TC doesn't matter because 1: it only holds upkeep 2: external tc's prevent griefing (unless they raid all externals but atp they are spending too much boom and doing too much) Also this is actually useful to know and use to your advantage building because you can have the core with tc and mediocre loot as you said knowing people will go for it and hide everything above. This is why in all my builds I like to hide loot and bedrooms atleast 3rd floor so they don't get found splashing 1st and 2nd, and people rarely raid up there.
Was really a great idea for a video. For your main base, I have a different approach as you. I do give people what they are looking for in the "core" (TC, 33% of guns, 25% of my boom, 50% ressources) so they usually stop there. I do always protect my main base with disconnectable TCs around to avoid griefing and to try and still have a workbench if I'm raided (and it wasn't destroyed in that process). In between the disconnectable TCs, I will add some more TCs with just a window so they look like I just don't want people building too close. I will choose one of those windowed TC (the one I feel will be less likely to be destroyed to build a raid base) and put 75% of my boom in there as you can fit explosives in a TC. You could argue that's stupid to put 75% of your boom in a 2 c4 raid as I usually have a 35 rockets base. But people don't look for it as all mainstream bases are just the same and, as you said, loot HAS to be in the core. I do also put most of my guns + armors in bedrooms + lockers all around the base to spread it out and to give me an opportunity to "restart" quickly if I'm raided. I played mostly solo, have about 6.7k hours and got raided hundreds of times ! Gonna explore your videos a bit to see if I can spot some more gems like that vid !

Here is something I picked up in my 5800 hours in rust. Seasoned players are EXTREMELY predictable as to where they place their tc every time. you also see the same base designs over and over again.
so not me using the same build for the last 2 years lmfao (yes even a YT build) with personal modifications from being raided and making improvements over the wipes. at the same time its now something i know like the back of my hand and have solo defended an online 4v1 & 5v1 raid attempts. the only times its ever been a successful full raid and lost the base is the offline raids, granted its actually not really (well wasn't originally intended) to be much of a tank for offlines the ability to maneuver and defend and online does weaken the offline brute strength.. we might loose a box here and there but usually the onlines end with sealing and raiders running out of boom and us not fully loosing the base or much loot at all... the one online that was a complete loss was a 16v5 and it was over an hour of defending
I'm no keyboard warrior, but i did also comment on the build video, that the 17k hours base build was very unrealistic of a base design. I do also stand with that statement, but if you don't like feedback, that is also fine. I wont comment on ur vids :) i do enjoy watching them tho
We can both have an opinion mate, your opinion is the base wasn't functional, and I agree that yeah, it'd be a lot of work running a base like that for a wipe. On the other hand spreading loot around a base and making it difficult for raiders should be your first goal, and the inconveniance that comes with it is just something I'd personally (quite happily) just deal with. I value your opinion and your comments dude, why don't you come be in a video and show me what you'd do sometime :)

getting TC usually means literally nothing as a raider. especially when most bases have externals. no base has 2nd floor TC unless dead server or they used seperate base as starter as its just not viable unless everyone on ur server is bricked. after seeuing what a "third " of your guns are and your boom. id leave cus you're broke xD dont need ur stone in ur TC lmao

I think you should give em the boom when they hit a boom box, sometimes you have to use their boom to finish a raid
