Satul Moisei este situat în partea de sud-est a județului Maramureș, la 136 de km față de Baia Mare, la 5 km de Borșa și la 7 km de orașul Vișeu de Sus. Este traversat de două artere principale, DN17 și DN18.

Moiseiul se află în Depresiunea Maramureșului, pe valea Vișeului, la poalele Munților Rodnei, având Pietrosu, la sud, și Munților Maramureșului la nord. Tot aici se varsă Izvorul lui Dragoș și Izvorul Negru în râul Vișeu.
n comuna Moisei există aproape 1500 de specii de plante cu flori, ceea ce reprezintă 40 % din totalul plantelor care trăiesc în România.
Etajul alpin este cucerit de capra neagră, cocoșul de munte și marmota.
În pădurile de conifere trăiesc ursul, cerbul carpatin, râsul, căpriorul, jderul de copac, mistrețul și vulpea, iar în ape, păstrăvul, scobarul și lipanul.
Moisei village is located in the southeastern part of Maramureș County, 136 km from Baia Mare, 5 km from Borșa and 7 km from Vişeu de Sus. It is crossed by two main arteries, DN17 and DN18.

Moiseiul is located in the Maramureș Depression, on the Vişeului valley, at the foot of the Rodna Mountains, with Pietrosu, to the south, and the Maramureș Mountains to the north. The Dragoș Spring and the Izvorul Negru also flow into the Vişeu River.
In Moisei commune there are almost 1500 species of flowering plants, which represents 40% of the total plants living in Romania.
The alpine floor is conquered by the black goat, the capercaillie and the marmot.
In the coniferous forests live the bear, the Carpathian deer, the lynx, the deer, the tree marten, the wild boar and the fox, and in the waters, the trout, the scabbard and the grayling.
