Honestly my insurance covered the luna motif and it is rechargeable and super convenient as well so if $500 isn’t worth the issues with this one I would suggest the Luna for sure . There are still wires from the actual pump to the bottles when pumping but it doesn’t have to be connected to an outlet if it’s charged . I love it and it’s small and easy to grab
I have the Elvie and the Evenflo. I love the Elvie, because I'm an ER nurse and I wouldn't have time to pump in the lactation room. So I could pump while actually on the floor and taking care of patients without any disturbance. I do think it could be cheaper but the convenience is unmatched. I loved my Evenflo for pumping at home because it comes with silicone liners for the flanges, making it very comfortable. It also has the option to use batteries and it's a closed system, making it simple to clean.
My fiancé keeps laughing at me because I always watch your RnB videos but our kids are 13!😂 what can I say, it’s still good information and I’ve gotta support Bianca Renee and Royce of course!
Have used Medela Freestyle, Pump in Style, and Spectre S2. This is my 2nd child and so far the most efficient pump has been the Spectre S2. The Freestyle was the most convenient but for me, price & efficiency are more important..Plus I can use pump time to watch Tik Tok videos or to eat.
With my insurance I’ll have to pay $370 total out of pocket, I’m studying and taking notes here, comparing all the free options plus the possible upgrades 💕
I have had the elvie since April and mine definitely leaks pretty often. Mostly it’ll turn off but sometimes it doesn’t and sometimes it turns off at 4oz
Thank you for an honest review. $200 is a lot to pay for one breast pump but over that🙄😱. For those whose insurance doesn't cover it or those who don't have health insurance this is too much. Mothers are trying to give their babies' a gift that money cannot buy. Do they plan to make larger containment cups? With a bottle you can express up to 8 or 9 oz before removing the breast pump. I liked the medela model (professional grade) because it got alllll the milk out but on the other hand the suction was sometimes too strong🤯. Thank you (and Jalen), for taking the time to make this video and your animated commentary (bustier boobs 🤣😂). Stay healthy and safe 😷.
For a lot of insurance companies, you can get reimbursed for $250 of the $499 you spend on a more expensive pump. Just send in a copy of your receipt. (Also, more BME companies - the companies that help you get your typical pumps for free through insurance - are now listing pumps like Elvie/Willow. Then they still file with your insurance, and you just pay the difference.)
Hi lady.. I have been working with beeast pumps and breastfeeding moms for 12.5 yrs. Most health insurances only covers one breast pump every 5 yrs with a pregnancy. But there is some loop holes with the health insurance. I never played with a Elvie breast pump. I had a client that had issues with her's... There is a hands free with freemie breast pumps , there is a ameda mya is good the pump is small and portable, spectra s1 and spectra s2 are good the s1 has a rechargeable battery in the base , medela pumps are okay the motors go out sooner than the other breast pumps .
Loving this review! Getting ready to deliver baby number 3. I used the Medela pump in style for my first two and I got so frustrated being tied to the wall every 2-3 hours. Plus I noticed to keep suction good I had to buy new tubing and parts every month. Waiting for my new Elvie to come in the mail! Can’t wait!
I have the spectra s2 and the Elvie. I love my Elvie. I wear it to work and can use it while on the phone with patients and you can’t hear it. I do have some issues with it leaking but only when I bend over and tilt to much, then it leaks. I’ve never been able to fill it to the very top so I know that wasn’t the problem for me. Definitely love it and will buy another if and when the motor runs out on this one with future kids.
Juanita Mines I got two. When I first was using them before going back to work I was pumping so often it wouldn’t have worked for me to switch them. It’s really worth it to buy both if your pumping multiple time a day regularly
I see what you mean about the sensor. I tried mine for the first time today and the same thing happened, huge leak all over the front of me and it was not picking up any milk at all on that side but i did dump over an ounce plus into a bag from jsut that side
Are there options for a larger collection container? I usually get anywhere from 6-8 oz per boob. Or how much of a hassle would it be to fill it up, dump it, and continue pumping in the same session?
I'm due November and I want to get the Willow but it has the same hot and cold type of reviews as the Elvie. I'm going to take the plunge but it's definitely anxiety provoking spending that much money on a product with so many different opinions. Thanks for posting yours!!
@@falinasandoval6344 I did! I love it! I also got the free pump from my insurance just in case but the Willow almost works as well. It's incredibly helpful when you're out of the house or traveling. It makes you look pretty busty and the sound is pretty quiet but if you were talking with someone in person they could hear it. No one hears it on the phone or video chat though. I'm happy I bought it.
Please make a routine video!! I would love to see you do that I just subbed and im OBSESSED with your family lol at 21 weeks pregnant I love seeing new moms make videos
That’s just one issue you encounter out of the so many issues that comes with the Elvie pump. So many mamas complain on the FB page, another complain is pumping for 30 minutes and getting 1 to 0 ounces but once they pump with the spectra or Medela they get about 4 to 5 oz, another complain is the flanges cracking easily.
Good to know about Elvie! I suppose the feature you love (handsfree wireless pumping) is what I’m after. I May have to see what other brands are offering with that feature 👩🏾🏫📝
Thanks B!!!! I’ve been waiting for this video from you almost my whole pregnancy LOL I am due in three weeks. I was trying to decide whether I should get the Willow or the Elvie and I’m going with the Willow. I have friends who had Willow and I had friends who had the Elvieand they all said there was an issue with the Elvie and my friends who had the Willow had no issues at all. Thank you so so much I value all your opinions and all your videos.
Video request: staying connected after baby and challenges that come with. I’m expecting in April :) and I can use all the advice I could use to be in a good place with my fiancé.
Just a small correction from you friendly Breastfeeding Educator, the Medela Pump in Style (free insurance pump) is not a hospital grade pump. The hospital grade Medela Pump is the Symphony Pump. 😀
@@kcherelus The hospital grade pump is great for families where mom and baby are separated initially or you need support establishing your milk supply. If mom and baby are together and breastfeeding is going well or your milk supply is welll established and you just want to have a pump then a personal use pump like the Medela pump in style advance or the Elvie would work.
@@MrsDivaTurtle thanks for answering me. I think I want the Elvie on my registry and the Medela from my insurance. First time mommy who’s 40 and still surprised.
Wish I had that when I was breastfeeding. I also wish that my insurance covered breast pumps when I had my kids as well. For the people that read the comments and can't afford this pump there are pumping bras that you can use so the pump stays in place while your pumping so you don't need to hold on to the pumps.
I also can't sit still! So I bought the Medela pump in style which is really small like the size of a phone, and charges via USB. It had good reviews regarding quietness and being mobile.
I noticed your sensors are dirty with milk & that affects the amount that is shown in the app too :) if you keep them clean then it will be more accurate & keeping the release buttons cleans help with the leaking
Have you looked into the Ameda Mya or Motif Duo? They are small portable breast pumps that are rechargeable and affordable. However, you do have the tubing, the bottles, and the flanges. But the bright side is you are not confined to an outlet and you can be mobile.
Same issues for me plus not emptying the breasts all the way, which can lead to clogged ducts and mastitis so I can only use the Elvie occasionally and have to stick to my Motif Luna with all the tubes and collection containers dangling from my boobs. With how expensive the Elvie is, it should really be better made
I have the Medela pump in style from my insurance it works good but i have to hold both pumps to my boobs the entire time (i dont have the pumping bra yet). But my nurse at the hosp told me she had the Momcozy breast pump which is hands free like the Elvie, but is cheaper and she likes it
Breast pumps are not free in all states depending on insurance. I’m in Ga with Medicaid and the type of insurance I have only give you a pump under special circumstances I.e If your baby goes to the NICU...
Wow! How did you get it for free?? I wish I had one with my last son. I pumped 3 times while at work everyday. And this would have been very helpful. Especially with cleaning around the house.
I'm thinking of getting this one cause the willows reviews are even worse with horrible customer service. Ive seen customer service issues with elvie too. Can I ask, do you think they sent you new ones because they gifted you one? I'm worried they may not always replace for plain Jane's like me. 😊 thanks for the tips. Spectra is amazing by the way but still bulky! Lol
Jesus is coming That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
No way you didn’t just say,”if you have two boobs, which I hope you do” Totally uncalled for and incentive!!!! As there are women out there who have sadly lost one or both breast. You may even argue if they lost both breast why would they be watching this? Well it could be a sister, mother, Aunty, friend or even grandmother (a woman looking to buy this for a breastfeeding mother) and they hear that… 😢 that is so sad and low. I surely hope you correct that. Very disappointed in your choice of words.
I loved this but I really want to see another vlog or something like that just since it’s been 3 straight reviews in a row not that it wasn’t great just y’a know

I’m so glad you posted this comment! I’m an ER nurse too and was wanting the elvie for exactly this reason!
Hi there. Are you still using it? I will be starting working in ER. 12 hr shifts. So tell me is it worth to buy it?
Thank you for being so detailed I truly appreciate it.
Thanks for this review I am a ER nurse too and I am comparing the Elvie to the Willow.

How did u get them to give u the pump for free bc I'm going to be having my baby in Sept and I'm jus looking for options
Do you feel like the Elvie pumps as well as a traditional pump as well?
With my insurance, the cost $375 for the two. Just FYI if anyone thinking about it. Your insurance may deduct the price
What insurance and how to find out
I paid $313 at Target
I’m curious what the stipulation to them sending it to you for free was since you said they don’t even know you’re making a review video
Brands send free things out with no stipulations a lot of the time. They know these influencers will make a video if they like it.
