It was the third day of the siege of Naboo. I had travelled with my platoon into the deep forests of the rural side of the planet. In the planetary sector next us, there was a B1 battle droid who would later become known as Clank Sinatra, he sang this song over our radio packs. His great singing voice, and our determination to win, led us to major victories in over half the planetary region. I never did meet him, but in the coming years, his music became more and more popular. Whenever I hear this masterpiece, I will always remember my days in the war. I was deeply saddened when I heard of his death during the clone wars. I will never forget what you did for me and my platoon, fly high Clank!

A true CIS classic. I do remember listening to this masterpiece with my fellow separatist during the Clone Wars, but now the new generation only cares about cantina bands. Truly, I miss those times.
I’m just imagining a B1 which rejected his programming and deserted, but because he couldn’t find anywhere to recharge, so he just is slowly shutting down. What’s worse, clones are closing in on his position. But he doesn’t care anymore. He’s happy he left the separatists. He got to travel for a while, and for once, got to appreciate his surroundings. After spending his artificial life constantly surrounded by the constructs and creations of man and machine, he was just happy to slow down. His story might be coming to a close, but hey. *He did it his way.*
This honestly made my day. I need someone to animate a MV of a battle droid singing this in Unreal or something, based on one of Frank's performances. 😂
I like to imagine it's being sung by a B1 battle droid that defected and went off somewhere to live his own life, and developed a more complex personality. Rather than one that is still in the clone wars and the punchline being light sabered in half. I feel like that would somewhat give it more meaning, because he really did do it his way and didn't just blindly follow orders. And it's a thing that happened in some of the comics and the cartoon.
...Technically, in the Star Wars Legends Comics, there were Battle Droids that managed to escape the frontlines... One such involved a B1 that managed to escape the frontlines, fought a grappler droid which was made to prevent defectors from escaping, both falling off a cliff, the B1 surviving because the Grappler took the brunt of the fall, the B1 then both times showed its complex personality by 1) staying by the side of the Grappler as it's battery drained, and 2), chose to live what few days of battery power he had left to be free from the war... The B1 was rewarded for his choice many years later, where he was found by two farmers who were both surprised and impressed by the fact they had an intact B1, and decided to take him with them to be repaired. It all but states that his life was a peaceful one afterwards, no more war, no more fighting, just peace and easy labor compared to being forced to march through minefields and shooting at people, while having to avoid being destroyed. All in all, a Happy ending for a B1.
@@Victor-056 I love that. Droids in Star Wars are so mistreated all the time, and their suffering is just like a comedic punchline most of the time. But then they have complex emotions and personalities. It's weird how they handle it, because they force you to have empathy for these droids, and then they slice them in half for a laugh and it's treated like it's just no big deal.
I’d imagine that he’s singing this while his general is abandoning him on a ship that’s slowly maneuvering into a planet of molten lava. Seems more thematic this way lol.
I absolutely LOVE this, by far the best of them all, because even on the high notes or the emotionally charged ones, Clank Sinatra remains in character with the robotic voice.
In the final moments of the war-torn battlefield, amidst the wreckage and chaos, stood the last remaining battle droid. Its metal frame battered and worn, yet its spirit remained unyielding. As the echoes of battle faded into the distance, the droid began to hum a familiar tune, a melody from a bygone era. With a mechanical voice, it started to sing, "And now, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain..." The words of Frank Sinatra's timeless song, "My Way," resonated through the desolate landscape, carrying with them a sense of defiance and introspection. As the droid sang, memories flashed through its circuits-battles fought, comrades lost, victories won. Despite its programming as a weapon of war, it had developed a sense of individuality, a spark of consciousness that defied its intended purpose. With each verse, the droid's voice grew stronger, echoing across the battlefield like a solemn anthem. It sang of choices made, of roads taken, of the undying resolve to do things its own way, even in the face of oblivion. And as the final notes hung in the air, the last battle droid stood tall, a solitary figure amidst the wreckage, a testament to the enduring spirit of autonomy and self-determination, even in the most unlikely of places.
It's surprisingly good at conveying the emotion behind the lyrics for a robotic voice, and it's really beautiful throughout the whole song. It's almost scary to see a glimpse of such clear sentience behind the machine. This would fit perfectly at the end of the clone wars when all the Battle droids are disregarded and destroyed by the empire. And right at the end the B1 is drowned out by the human voice, which is obviously a glitch, but I think it's quite poetic.
I thought the same about the human voice at the end! I like to think of it as the Droid putting so much heart and soul into this song that his own literal soul (as a sentient droid) develops, and that would be how he'd sound as a living being.
Wow, the effect that this video had on me is insane. I feel like a brand new person after listening to this, I may have even she'd a tear. Thank you so much for uploading this.
A group of Droids who grew beyond their programming are cornered. Doku, accompanied by an almost uncountable number of Battle Droid, has been ordered by Sidious to destroy them before they escape, taking valuable information with them. General Kenobi and a Battalion of Clones are en route to rescue these advanced Droids, but Separatist forces have arrived first. We've followed the adventures of these droids escaping from what they were made for and discovering who they are. A T-series tactical droid with impressive combat skills that wants to be a fighter for the Republic, an early prototype of a KX-series security droid that's only perceived flaw was its preference for non-lethal methods of incapacitation, a Droideka with aspirations to work in a cantina as both a server and security, a B2 Super Battle Droid that wished to be involved in The Galactic Senate, and a B1 Battle Droid who wanted nothing more that to live a nonviolent life as a singer at Jabba's Palace. Doku and his forces have begun sweeping the crashed Separatist Command Ship our rebel droids have been hiding in. The B1 droid ushers the others to escape, splitting off towards the hanger. The other droids make it to Kenobi and his forces but they're all cornered, only for a voice to come over every com-links, Republic and Separatist. The B1 battle droid pilots a fighter to provide its friends a chance to escape, giving up its own chance for freedom and singing all the while. While the other droids board the escape ship, they insist on waiting for the B1, who continues to sing as its fighter is destroyed. It immediately climbs out of the wreckage, still singing. This droid who has sworn to never pick up a blaster again, now doing just that, protecting its friends with everything it has left. It tells the others to leave before its sacrifice it rendered mute, prompting the ship to leave as the B1 resumes its ballard. Destroying an astonishing amount of opposing droids, and even managing to shoot Doku in the shoulder, the droid is finally damaged enough to destroy its legs, yet it continues to sing, blasting even more droids. Doku picks up the droid, asking it who it thinks it is to defy him. The B1 reveals a thermal detonator, stating "I'm a singer" before it sets the detonator off, destroying all but as few of the remaining Separatist forces, as well as further injuring Doku. As the B1 is finally cut down by Doku, its friends swear its voice sounds almost human for but a moment, only for it to finish its performance and wish his friends well as it is completely destroyed and its friends escape. Kenobi and the Clones mourned alongside the droids, stating that they lost the most valiant droid any of them had ever known
Thanks glad you enjoyed my video and I got lots more b1 Frank Sinatra covers I would really recommend checking out my cover of fly me to the moon and that's life they both turned out really good and I did a music video for them
3:40 I love how for every single one of these AI covers, Frank Sinatra and his voice STILL manage to rip through the software during this part. When I listen to these, I just imagine any inserted character singing, then as soon as this part comes on, Frank tears off a mask to sing this part, then goes back into character
the profound emotional impact of sinatras voice breaking through on the last belt, almost like the humanity of the droid, keeps me coming back to this video months later
After countless battles throughout the Clone Wars, B1-182 developed what could be described as a form of consciousness. A personality entirely unique. After so long since being powered down, memory wiped, or entirely discarded, 182 began to develop near human emotions. The constant killing of organics and the subsequent destruction of his droid companions left a gaping hole in his artificial heart. Upon the field of battle, 182 turned to take one final look at his most recent mechanical companions. None of them could know the pain that he was experiencing. The regret that he developed the ability to conjure within his memory circuits. 182 made his peace and marched away from the shooting, lowering his blaster he resigned any defense. What would he do next? Where could he go? What is a lone battle droid to do in a galaxy at war?
Above every meme, trailer, compilation, comedy skit, review, recipe, podcast, play through, serial killer analysis and tutorial. There is true quality content and this. This is the detention of that. Perfection, simply perfection.
The b1 hit by a stray blaster bolt and temporarily granted sentience singing one last song before he turns off never to go back online again, truly a bittersweet ending to a Droid who had a peomis of life dangled infront of him for mere minutes before having it ripped away
I just imagine an animatic from the Clone Wars where the droid breaks out into song mid battle and its majestic and dramatic as explosions and slow motion fighting happen in the background

Wow, the effect that this video had on me is insane. I feel like a brand new person after listening to this, I may have even she'd a tear. Thank you so much for uploading this.
Glad you enjoyed it if you want to see more check some of my new battle droid covers I even did a music video for them
Fun fact sinatra's dad kicked him out at 16 because he wanted to be a singer. He definitely did do it his way
A group of Droids who grew beyond their programming are cornered.
This is so good
I actually got a little teary eyed reading that.
Dude, why'd you have to make me cry? 🥺
Fucking beautiful my dude
😢
I would buy this droid’s album, ngl
Beautiful my life is complete I’ve made peace with the work after hearing this beautiful rendition my life is forever changed thank you
The voice of an angel, so beautiful & soulful that it could bring a tear to the eye of Darth Sidious.
I can die peacefully, knowing that this exists
B1-173 really hit those notes.
WERE GETTING OFF THE LUCREHAULK WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️
That last Battle Droid when he gets surrounded by Clones:
As both a huge Star Wars and Frank Sinatra fan, I enjoyed this. Whoever made this? Well done.
Thanks glad you enjoyed my video and I got lots more b1 Frank Sinatra covers I would really recommend checking out my cover of fly me to the moon and that's life they both turned out really good and I did a music video for them
The clanker when The Trade Federation Battle Ship blows up
He has the voice of an angel. (sheds tear)
POV: you're an assault class B1 battle droid in battlefront 2 guarding or capturing a point by yourself.
First time an A.I. moved me to tears almost....and nonetheless did it as a B1
He never thought he would make it to retirement
3:40 I love how for every single one of these AI covers, Frank Sinatra and his voice STILL manage to rip through the software during this part. When I listen to these, I just imagine any inserted character singing, then as soon as this part comes on, Frank tears off a mask to sing this part, then goes back into character
Idk why this feels more meaningful than it should
This is the most powerful version I have heard.
This song plays in every battle droid before they die.
For what is a droid, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has none
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who yeilds.
The record shoooows, I took the blooooows!
And did it, myyyyyyyyyyy waaaayyyyyyyy!!!
This may just be the perfect Star Wars meme.
Just picturing Luke skywalker walking into a dirty rundown bar on a hostile planet and having a drink with this up on stage is angelic
This is literally the best SW headcanon
the profound emotional impact of sinatras voice breaking through on the last belt, almost like the humanity of the droid, keeps me coming back to this video months later
That one droid in battlefront 2 clutching up last second
Blink-182 reference?
1:47 This moved me to tears
Now this is amongst the best ai covers I ever heard. GREAT GREAT job!
"Oh my god... I get it..."
most of these ai voices don't do vibrato very well but that was one of the better ones I've heard
I mean... it's supposed to be a robot anyways, why would it vibrato unless it was malfunctioning? lol.
I can't believe that my first exposure to frank Sinatra would be ai covers
When you are just casually patrolling the wilds of some backwater planet and you suddenly see the wierd hobo sprinting toward you ignite a lightsaber
This song get simulated in the head of every droid in a split second when they find themselves in a 1v1 with a Jedi
AI is... A wild ride, and it's a REALLY new thing 🤯
I need more B1 battle droids singing. I NEED IT!!!
Tell me some songs you want to hear

Above every meme, trailer, compilation, comedy skit, review, recipe, podcast, play through, serial killer analysis and tutorial. There is true quality content and this. This is the detention of that. Perfection, simply perfection.
Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
The b1 hit by a stray blaster bolt and temporarily granted sentience singing one last song before he turns off never to go back online again, truly a bittersweet ending to a Droid who had a peomis of life dangled infront of him for mere minutes before having it ripped away
'*the lucrehulk core alarm goes off*'
Clank Sinatra:
So is this the clanker reflecting on the final hours of his life before he is shut down?
His fight for Droid rights
Rip M4LuK1JR, the most noble of Droids
"yes there were times, I'm sure you knew, when I bit off more than I could chew" -every B1 in the movies ever
Unironically very beautiful. You've created something unexpectedly great here.
the clanker when a laser sword comes flying at them at 50 mph
Honestly Frank’s voice bleeding through is just Clank’s father singing with him
I just imagine an animatic from the Clone Wars where the droid breaks out into song mid battle and its majestic and dramatic as explosions and slow motion fighting happen in the background
thx for sharing my awesome vocal talent!
Moments in his mind before meeting the end of a lightsaber to his head.
The last battle droid before being deactivated
