So I had heard that the reason why this song was originally written was because the songwriter for Moana learned that the Rock was playing Maoi, and only he could sing a song like this and be so entitled, yet get people to actually believe that they should be thanking him. Clearly, he was not the only one who could pull it off.

You’ve gotten me falling in love with a malfunctioning battle droid that believes itself to be a demigod that created a planet’s ecosystem and did things like plant an eel to grow a tree and pull the sun closer with a rope. I have mixed feelings about this.
My head canon: This B-1 battledroid defied his programming and developed a full blown personality and joined along on a journey with his backing singer and genuinley wants to make people and himself happy by singing. Tryna make a wholesome Battledroid here cus god knows the deserve to be happy with everything they go through
