Going with the G2 MMC Bruticus myself (Assaultus Regenesis). Since it’s the third version, I’m hoping that they’ve worked out all the bugs… Also, I had the G2 set as a kid, so I’m looking to recapture some of that nostalgic feeling.
Actually, I'm wondering if with Combiner Wars Devastator being way bigger than other combiners in the line mean that Hasbro officially considers Devastator to be bigger in scale with the rest of the combiners. If that is the case, MMC Bruticus could work with Toyworld Constructor.
The MMC with the upgrade kit so you can make him look more G1 then cartoon and the individual's are 10+. The MMC is without a question the best Combaticons toys to ever come out especially once you get the upgrade kit the make the feet bigger and make him look G1 toy accurately compared to cartoon accurate.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 that's the one I'm going to go with two besides it matches up perfectly with the Hasbro Devastator and it has more of a real-world look to it
I'm on the same page as you. I have Zeta's, because of the size so it will scale with my other combiners (have KRONOS and Constructor is on the way) but I do prefer the aesthetic of Unique Toys, though my preference is toon coloring vs. toy coloring. My only issue with Bruticon is Brawl's color. I prefer the Brawl from Armageddon. I think I'll try to trade with someone or simply pick one up on eBay. Thanks for the video, I always seek out your content!
I wish you would have shown the complete final version of the Fans Project/Energon/Shadow Fisher Bruticus. The Shadow Fisher Heavy Arms kit adds some more height, a chest plate, and more bulk. Now he looks great next to Intimidator. (And Green Giant, and Warlord)
Well, the one and only combiner I have is Combiner Wars Bruticus. It was also the first combiner I decided to pursue and I completed it even getting the little Shockwave. I am set on getting MMC's Bruticus because everything is all built into the figure and I like that engineering - I collect transformers mostly out of an appreciation for the engineering of the toys so I like seeing things like that even though it is impossible for me to care less about partsforming. I cannot care less about partsforming idiocy, but to attempt the Gravity Builder gimmick of including all the combine mode stuff in the toy and none of the modes suffer for it and fall victim to ugly kibble hanging off the vehicle or robot modes like a tumor? That's impressive to me. I do agree that the feet are kinda small and dinky, I wish they had figured out a way to make them just a little bit bigger, they don't have to be massive but just a little bit bigger would be nice, but it isn't a deal breaker for me and maybe I'll go ahead and get little upgrade kit thing for the feet. Regardless I'm going with MMC as my Masterpiece Bruticus. I feel an obligation as a Starscream fangirl to get a nice, big MP Bruticus to stand among my Starscream collection looking ready to destroy the Autobots and Megatron. And I'll just go ahead and admit that MMC's style is also calling back to the old G1 look in a way that I think is a lot better than other companies. Other guys are updating the Alt-Modes into more modern vehicles (I mean Zeta's Vortex has the same Alt-Mode as Bayverse Blackout for cripes sake and I honestly find some bent appeal in showing folks the two choppers and then the two radically different robots.) and there's nothing wrong with that at all but I just like that MMC Bruticus is like G1 remastered. Heck Brawl's leg mode looks just like G1 upscaled.
Nearly all the combiner figures have had heads too small for their body. The unfortunate consequence of hiding the head inside the bot. I think UT Abominus's head is decently sized.
I have the OS warbotron bruticus. Pretty happy with the quality and price. I dont like the hollow elbows when combined though. About to pull the trigger on the Zeta for combined mode and keep these for alt/bot mode. Should hold me over until maybe fanstoys takes a stab at him.
I have the original Warbotron and the OS Jinbao set. The OS Jinbao is definitely a cheaper, flimsier set. Several of the figures have floppy legs and just feel lighter and cheaper, too. The original Warbotron figures have a sturdier feel as well as some really awesome light piping the OS version doesn't have, either, so yes the Jinbao OS set is cheaper money-wise but you also get what you pay for. I could never get into the Zeta or UT sets because I didn't like the individual bot modes (I like the individual Combaticons and often display the figures separately) and because $ but I will say the MCC Assaultus looks great to me. I've seen the Impetus in person and it was like he stepped out of the cartoon, so if you want a G1 cartoon version, MMC is definitely a great way to go.
I don’t usually go for 3rd party. Generally way out of my price range. I’m good with the official stuff. I probably should look into ko stuff sometimes but I’m also terribly lazy about keeping up with releases.
I too have all of the Toyworld and Zeta combiners. I love em. Question -- Did yours have the right leg/Swindle connection problem as well? If so did ya fix it or come up with a fix?
Mine did have a slight issue but I just handle it with care and it has not fallen off in months. I bet I could source stronger springs to fix but that is just a guess. Thanks
I got the CW and OS Warbotron versions of Bruticus. The Warbotron version is great. Good price and decent quality. Its after my Titan class Fort Max the tallest transformer i got.
So far, I’m still waiting for something that looks good in all 3 modes. I don’t want pure G1, their designs look way to boring for me personally. The closest thing to that is Warbotron Bruticus, but that Onslaught kills it for me. He just doesn’t look any good, and I’m not a fan of the combined design. If the WFC trilogy gives us a new CHUG scaled Bruticus, I’ll probably take it. I just hope it’s not too G1 accurate.
There is no all-encompassing answer to date. I have the Zeta Armageddon and it's a great combiner, specifically because they went all in on the combined mode and didn't worry about getting docked for using parts forming. Their torso bots fold into a cube and just plug into the back of the extra combiner torso. For their bots in this team, however, they went way too far away from G1 to me, to be worth displaying. I am getting the MMC figures, which do a much better job in bot mode. Vortex is tremendous, and Swindle is mostly good. His legs are too thick, which decided to do to make him a viable combiner leg, but it's still passable and it does feel like the character. I'll display the MMX figures as bots, sometimes alt modes, and rarely if ever in combined mode. There's no one company which has produced good bots and a good combiner. I think everyone is waiting for Fans Toys to try its hand at this team.
You missed the Power Combiners version! Spoiler: it was a POS. I'm waiting for a set that looks good in all modes. If it never happens I'll never have an MP Bruticus.
Scale and G1 cartoon accuracy for my collection, so Zeta Bruticon was the easy pick. If I ever get round to wanting individual bots as well, I’ll pick up the MMC ones.
I understand that Jinbao's Bruticus Oversized is compatible with my pocket. I'm getting the Devastator from Jinbao Oversized as well. Would there be an upgrade kit for this version of Bruticus? The other versions presented are exorbitantly expensive and are not compatible in size with my Devastator Jinbao.
I have the Jinbao version Bruticus and i thought the Zeta toys version was bigger but not so much and the detail on the Jinbao is so much more detailed and makes it look more threatening. I just got my Lewin Resources Optimus prime so he's winning right now. Very heavy, big and impressive. Check him out
I didn't care for G1 Bruticus for very long after his introduction, so I wasn't super-hyped about getting into the Bruticus wars. But when the entire Jinbao OS Warbotron dropped for the price of one limb of the other guys, I just had to have it. The scale of the alt modes, the clackety ratchets, and the rainbow of colors make it a helluva fun toy to dork around with. That said, it is way too over stylized to count as a MP. It's an affordable placeholder and an also-ran. I'm totally down for the Toyworld Constructor Devs because of how G1 accurate the individual bots and alt mods and gestalt mode look, as well as the solidity of it all. I tolerate the gestalt size as the logical consequence of putting together 6 large heavy lifter construction vehicles, but I in no way hold its height up as a standard for all other combiners to. measure up to. I can almost forgive the thigh combiner parts because the original toy had extra parts too, but not quite; I'm not happy with anything larger than individual bot weaps being leftover between modes, and at his size, they should've found a better way than just cheating. But he's still the best Devs by a wide margin, so I can suck up the thigh cheat. But I cannot accept that cheat being repeated ad infinitum. Once MMC revealed their all-in-one approach, I immediately lost all mercy for separate combiner parts, so Zeta Bruticus promptly went on my chit-list, and all of its ilk followed right along with it. And those individual bot modes are clunky nastiness too. I already have cheap non-animation-accurate bots in my Jinbao, so why even consider paying big money to still end up with a poor representation of the show? Just to get max height? Pish-posh... UT just seemed like more of the same. Pass. Easy. MMC has me excited again to get a Bruticus! Super accurate individual bots and in-scale alt modes. A gestalt height that logically follows from the correct scale. And that all-in-one trick. So satisfying in all the most important ways for me. True, those feet are teensy, but I can deal as long as they still function well. My Jinbao is going to the extra box. It might even just become Jin-bye real soon. Even as a great toy overall, it's simply not MP.
My CW onslaught has a problem in his knee that makes his knee floppy and useless, I have to prop him up against something to get him to stand. Swindle’s back panel (car mode front) falls off way to easily, and brawl’s cannon got lost because it was a separate part. Blast off’s backpack is HORRIBLE and I cannot stress that enough. Vortex is the only one who doesn’t have a problem. The combined mode just shouldn’t. I’m super excited to see how much better the MMC OX one is.
Sorry to say this but I've passed on all 3 companies version of Bruticus. None of them have succeeded in capturing the cartoon accurate look. I'll patiently wait until Xtb releases their Bruticus since I've stuck with their Menasor prior to finding out FT were going to release The Stunticons and Aerialbots. I don't want to be jumping from company to company.
I no longer care about scale anymore....Hell G1 didn't LOL...... Plus the combiners honestly are not even scale what they are. A space shuttle and a tank which one is bigger ..... I enjoy collecting . The cartoon had combiners scale to whatever story they are telling. The combiners that would be close to in scale with each other are Terrorcons, Predacons, and seacons. But each there own I say grab the one or ones that speak to you.
MMC and Unique Toys are my personal favorite of the Bruticus options (not that I have any). I don't care for how Zeta handles the combiner. The cradles feel lazy. If they're gonna partsform, at least let the cradles serve other purposes, like Warbotron, Iron Factory, or DX9's Menasor.
That is a good point about the parts should be able to do something. I wonder if Fanstoys Meansor and Superion parts will do more than just be parts. Thanks
What I'd really like is 100% scale accuracy in ALTMODE, and to hell with worrying about scaling in bot mode. But I'm in the extreme minority here. Almost no one else wants a 1/35th scale Optimus Prime whose truck mode sans trailer is less than half as long as Starscream's F-15 mode. idk why. Why can't Starscream just be a towering behemoth next to Prime?
I hope someone replys, Im looking for my first MP bruticus to collect and dont know where to begin. Guess something good as a start set but close to the G1 colors and look.. the Cartoon and not the toy G1.. any help would be very much welcomed
MMC Bruticus is literal witchcraft. Every figure including combined mode managed to be so accurate and it doesn't require partsforming

I picked up the Warbotron-Bruticus,
mostly because I had never had any Bruticus....and the set was on sale too.
I liked that OS version and it works well in that scale. I love saving some $$$$. Thanks
That's the one I'm going with two because it fits best with the
@@tydiriumhanger1320 that's the one I'm going to go with two besides it matches up perfectly with the Hasbro Devastator and it has more of a real-world look to it
I will have all three and the best one seems to be OM version followed closely by UT's.
Ocular Max but :
1- improve head sculpt
2- Gray color for tights
3- improve chest aspect
I wish you would have shown the complete final version of the Fans Project/Energon/Shadow Fisher Bruticus. The Shadow Fisher Heavy Arms kit adds some more height, a chest plate, and more bulk. Now he looks great next to Intimidator. (And Green Giant, and Warlord)
With so many options this is an awesome video. Thanks
I'm going with the OS warbotron bruticus, he's perfect for the scale I'm going with. Glad you did this cause I was unsure of which one to get.
That one is the best value price wise for sure! Thanks
It's a damn good figure for a great price. Bit wobbly, but looks the part and scales well with MP stuff.
I've got UT version. I'm happy with it but the more I look at it, the more I think it needs a bigger head
Now that you said it He could use a bigger head to match his proportions. Thanks
Nearly all the combiner figures have had heads too small for their body. The unfortunate consequence of hiding the head inside the bot. I think UT Abominus's head is decently sized.
@@darwinxavier3516 Yeah, I have Armageddon and it has a small head too, so I don't understand why people often mention that with regard to Ragnaros.
MMC looks the best!
Zeta hands down.
I like ridiculously large combiners that can do the Iron Man pose, thankyouverymuch lol
Zeta is the combiner game changer for sure! Thanks
I’m 99% sure assaultus can do that pose too. I’ll tell u after Christmas (I’m getting swindle, vortex, and (hopefully) onslaught)
I have the OS warbotron bruticus. Pretty happy with the quality and price. I dont like the hollow elbows when combined though. About to pull the trigger on the Zeta for combined mode and keep these for alt/bot mode. Should hold me over until maybe fanstoys takes a stab at him.
ShowZ had a good deal on Bruticon and I pondered jumping on that one myself. Thanks
UT Bruticus is my favorite
I really enjoy my Iron Factory Bruticus, an oversized KO would be straight awesomeness 🤙
I think zetas version looks the best out of these choices seems equally proportioned ,good review.
What’s about the third party Fall Of Cybertron bruticus
That is an interesting option! Thanks
Do you mean the Boosticus kit for the Hasbro/Takara Bruticus?
MMC all the way! I am so happy with it!
I don’t usually go for 3rd party. Generally way out of my price range. I’m good with the official stuff. I probably should look into ko stuff sometimes but I’m also terribly lazy about keeping up with releases.
Sometimes It pays off to wait and get some deals down the road. Thanks
Thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 what figure had that issue?
I went with Zeta for the price and size. The only non Zeta combiner that I see myself possibly getting is Fanstoys Menasor.
Yes those will all scale very well!
It would be interesting to see what a combiner would look like in the new direction of Hasbro Mainline for sure! Thanks
Magic square has a great Bruticus
so, which one scales better with CHUG/deluxes and voyagers in general ?
video is a bit hard to follow.
No mention of Pocket Toys Bruticus?
I wanted the fans project bruticus so bad but couldn’t afford him and now it’s just so hard to find one in good condition and decent price
You missed the Power Combiners version! Spoiler: it was a POS.
I'm waiting for a set that looks good in all modes. If it never happens I'll never have an MP Bruticus.
Sounds like we need a Fanstoys Bruticus! Thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Yeah, I thought about just posting "I'm waiting for the FT" but thought I'd put more detail.
Actually assaultus is good in all modes if you’re going for a G1 look (which I am!)
Scale and G1 cartoon accuracy for my collection, so Zeta Bruticon was the easy pick. If I ever get round to wanting individual bots as well, I’ll pick up the MMC ones.
That is a good point! That is exactly why I orders their swindle. Thanks
I ordered the zeta one that has the g1 toy look to it . I'm thinking of ordering the newer zeta onslot so that it will have a more cartoon look .
I like the mmc version
You refer the Fansprojects as a fullfigure when it was just an upgrade to Energon/Universe/United Bruticus
I mean Swindle and Blastoff are completely new, along with most of the add on pieces.
i like the MMC and UT sets
Same
waiting on you, fans toys!
Yes that would be cool! Thanks
I have unique toys - love it in combined mode - just too small. Will see how Fans Toys does with theirs
I think I’ll buy the JinBao Oversized Warbotron Bruticus. I have to work more with a budget in mind.
I like the unique toys one because the feet and hands are transformed with the figure. Also I like the iron warrior on a lot.
Sorry not unique toys mmc is what I meant
Yes that all in one MMC design is quite impressive and they pulled it off. Thanks
What happened to Unite Warriors Bruticus?
I have the Jinbao version Bruticus and i thought the Zeta toys version was bigger but not so much and the detail on the Jinbao is so much more detailed and makes it look more threatening. I just got my Lewin Resources Optimus prime so he's winning right now. Very heavy, big and impressive. Check him out
Plz don't correct the title's spelling. It looks kinda cool just as it is
LOL Thanks for the heads up!
Bruticus outnumbered, but Bruticus will win! The Zeta one looks the best for me.
Oversized warbotron is my choice because of the price and size.
Yes that MMC one is quite a feat! I look forward to getting my hands on Swindle! Thanks
MMC looks the best
Crazy how just few years ago there were like... NO...combiners you could buy.
Only one I have is the Combiner Wars one & it is ugly, inarticulate & cumbersome compared to the others
The CW Bruticus way better than the CW Menasor for sure but still is a bit stiff. Thanks
I would like a game accurate FOC Bruticus
None of the current offerings. I'll probably wait for Fans Toys.
Lets hope they can work a Bruticus in their busy schedule! Thanks
That is so true! So many options and so many perspectives! Thanks
Really nice comment and I totally agree!
Unique toys is very G1, wish it would had been a few inches bigger to knock it out the park.
There's bout 3 or 4 3rd party bruticus figures ill obtain out of the selections. The display will be quite nice 😁😁😁
Will you display them all together or on separate shelves?
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I would display them all together
Zeta toys Bruticus is by far my favorite Bruticus and is the best Bruticus aestheticly imo
That figure has size and presence on it's size. Thanks
Tydirium hanger yup I think it’s my favorite piece in my collection 💯
Mmc! Ordered the set yesterday
7:12 ¿ NAME PLEASE? ¡¡¡ TOMA TODO MI DINEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Zeta is the best I think but Devistator should always be bigger than any other combiner
I guess MMC set KO will be the solution.
Jinbao Bruticus works for my size and budget.
I got a Japanese edition predating last year
Mmc is so cool
