Pretty hard to imagine many 24 year olds with that amount of conscience and intelligence. What foresight and what honesty. Respect to Sinead, she's a star
Especially compared to today's young shallow celebrities. Not one of them could hold a conversation like this, being political, sweet, humble, witty and sincere at the same time. She's truly unique. A beautiful soul!
@@Analysis_Paralysis some of them do. But they get pilloried by the "stop talking politics and stay in your lane" brigade who voted for a reality TV star as President before being "cancelled" by the people who endlessly complain about "cancel culture".
What`s so "heroic" about her??...Anyone who didn`t already know the Catholic church was full of sadists and perverts 30 years ago must have had their head up ther ass.!!!
Sinead was fearless. A warrior, yet so fragile. This is what humanity and compassion and righteous indignation looks like. Sinead was a fire that burned hard and bright for what she believed in. She will be remembered as such.
Sinead wasn't ''Fearless'' as you put it. She had fear and felt the same way you or I would feel with vultures and sharks snapping at our flesh just trying to get a better bite in to do as much damage as possible. Sinead O'Connor had bravery and guts. She had the cognitive prowess to speak clearly on what is so wrong in the world regarding what we are all spoon fed through media outlets and then the guts to confront it, face it head on, and, with an awful lot to lose. She had spirit, guts and determination because she cared about love, families and disadvantageous people from every place over the globe. RIP sweetheart, I know I will meet you one day in the ether:)
Yes, but so many of these positive comments are only made after she's dead. Too late? Perhaps she could have done with them while she was still alive - they might've help made her life a little easier?
exactly...and they have her medicated to protect the deception, and depressing holocaust on Nature; prepare for the extinction of humanity. Exactly... modern psychology for me is meaningless at all. First It sees herds as a normal people. İf you have a possibility to see sth more than usual then you have a mental issue. Thats bullshit.
I am all broken up, Sinead. I am 50 years old and I heard the song "Mandinka" when I was only 14, and then later heard this song on this video. I am Cherokee. My people originated from North Carolina, but I grew up in Washington D.C. It changed my life. You were a HUGE influence on the trajectory I chose to go: That of a bold, outspoken woman, and I, too, have been crucified for it. I am an Indigenous Rights Activist for 36 years and walked across the country until my feet bled into the ground for the American Indian Movement on the Walk Across America in 1992 and then was a National Bernie Sanders Delegate against Donald Trump, and got crucified for being outspoken in America, so I moved to Canada. I know you felt alone and broken and nobody was telling you they loved you. I know that you even went on Dr. Phil b/c you were in crisis and I knew what was in your heart the whole time. You were angel who blessed us all and gave us so much...I will never forget you and I I will NEVER forget the influence you had on me as a teenager. The song on this video is that introduced me to your deeply soulful voice and that, along with "Mandinka" which changed me as a teenager who grew up in a troubled home and abusive and alcoholic home. YOUR SONGS CAME THROUGH ON MY WALKMAN AND ENCOURAGED ME TO LIVE AND SURVIVE ANOTHER DAY. I am broken up that you have passed. My mother died at same age: 56. This will also haunt me forever. The world, as always, especially America, will tell you how much they loved you after the fact. I am grieving hard, for the empath and sensitive, loving and deeply bold and outspoken women you were and for all of the people who put you through hell and they will all come back and regret that you are gone, but they did not tell you in this life how much they loved you. You were so ICONIC in the late eighties when you came out: LION AND THE COBRA! I will never forget when my friend Wendy introduced me to that album. NOTHING COULD EVER COMPARE TO YOU, SINEAD! NOTHING! You are absolutely incredible and were so beautiful. WELL BEHAVED WOMEN RARELY MAKE HISTORY AND YOU, MY FRIEND, WILL GO DOWN AS THE BEST, A LEGEND. THIS INDIGENOUS WARRIOR WOMAN HERE IS CRYING, WISHING YOU WERE BACK, BUT I WILL SEE YOU UP THERE, IN THE CELESTIAL REALMS. I LOVE YOU, R.
Thank you for expressing your thoughts so openly. Like you, Sinead's death has affected me deeply however through her outspokenness she like other brave souls gave me the strength to push back against injustices where and when I saw them, by that we uphold her memory and those like her who have and are fighting against discrimination. You are not alone, and I wish you peace in your soul.
thank you for writing this and loving her so sincerely, holding her in prayer with other people means so much. It's impossible to do anything but want to hold her xx
I have been reading the old comments on videos today, and they honestly bring me to tears just how beautiful they are, considering the internet can be a very dark place. Love and peace to all reading, we all have a bit of Sinead in out hearts. Now it is up to us what we will do with it.
I’m conservative but I love her, we don’t have to have the same political reviews to love each other - her 1990 performance of “Nothing compares 2 U” was unbelievably emotional and one of the greatest songs in history. RIP Sinead - lovely lady.
@@unknown24242424I have to admit Nothing Compares to You is one of her weakest songs from that time, if you're not aware of her other songs, have a listen! but agree with you otherwise wholeheartedly, such a sad loss❤💔
@@PeterBornAgain I don’t care for most celebrities, but her death has hit me hard. She had so much trauma to overcome, but she still wanted to make a difference. Her childhood was wretched, then losing her son is just too much.
Exactly people who aren't scared to speak their minds.. Instead of all the fake people who stab you in the back as soon as you turn. She was real and genuine which is very rare.. She was so beautiful too. Those eyes. Woman would die for those big doe eyes. x
There is quite a few of them in the music industry and Hollyweird ….but they are on the wrong side of the spectrum…sitting in their mansions and bitching ….
@rebelraccoon lots of girls look good with a buzzed cut, even if they aren’t stunningly beautiful like Sinead. Sinead would’ve been beautiful even in a dumb bowl cut.
I’ve always admired her and I hate how there was an attempt to destroy her really. But she’s managed to hold on where so many would’ve perished. I look up to her for that. Now the world now about the Catholic Church.
I've learned a lot about her in the past week. If only more people could be as caring, real and honest as Sinead was. I wish I had watched more interviews like this.
Sinead was ahead of her time and she has ALWAYS been a real one. She was hung out to dry for her beliefs and ultimately, people are just now seeing she was absolutely right. They were so angry with her for daring to call out injustice and division and yes, abuse and pedophilia hiding in religious institutions. Sinead was a queen and people aren’t made of the stuff she was made of. I hope she can finally get some rest and relief. Rest well Sinead.
Well said....but....some of us did know back then exactly what she was saying, and were also shouted down for supporting her. I grew up with her (I'm exactly the same age as her and come from the area she grew up in) and knew precisely what message she was conveying. I don't mean that in a bravado kind of way, just that for every 100 people or so she pissed off she also inspired at least one, like my humble self. And the truth always comes out in the end of course. She will never be forgotten here in Ireland and her work and words will live on eternally like Yeats, Beckett, Synge and Wilde. 💚
Ireland her country turned their back on her even when it came out that all Catholic priests were indeed perverts she said it first but nobody came out and said Sínead was right. Because Ireland didn’t recognise her and her mental health took a turn for the worse . Now everyone is saying she was ahead of her time but why didn’t people say it when she was alive and make her feel better about herself read these comments were was these people when she was alive,.
She is so beautiful, not many can pull off a hair cut like that, she was just stunning, I think that’s why in the video for nothing compares to you, it’s just her face. It’s all that was needed to make people watch. She’s just breathtaking.
b g yes, granted she doesn’t look like she does in this clip, but it’s been a good few years, I don’t know anyone that looks as fresh in their 50’s as they did in their 20’s. I see she’s now Muslim, that’s the latest interviews I seen her in after all that online craziness, I guess she’s been really hurt , that’s what I picked up anyway but you just never know what someone’s really going through. It seems like she’s found what makes her happy, at least I hope she has. I don’t like commenting on people’s looks, but she just looks so fresh faced, so naturally beautiful here that I just ran away with myself.
Just a shame she had so many great ideas and views but people were just not ready for her, she was ahead of her time...a sheer beauty in voice and stature as well.
He had a deft touch with her. She was interviewed many times in Ireland and brilliantly so by the likes of Gay Byrne, but it was never LA. Arsenio treated her like a big deal “product” but also as a human. Amazing interview.
Yes. I almost hate to admit, Arsenio himself was ahead of his time. I disliked him while he had his show but looking back he was doing alright. Poor Sinead. What can anyone say?RIP
Yes ..us Empaths are so misunderstood b c most humans are self centered and greedy the same reason the government tried to extinct our people Cherokee..eastern band wolf clan and still to this day treat our heritage like dirt ....thank God for our culture teaching us how to survive and give thanks to our Creator as we diligently walk down the red road .I was bullied by many as I was called half breed and go back to the reservation..my reply to this was go back to THE ORIGINAL PLACE YOU CAME FROM INTRUDER ..THIS WAS OUR LAND YOU STOLE !! I believe her song here sounds like what happened to our tribes ..I am 65 percent Native and Scottish ..so both of my ancestors were cruelly treated with no resolve .IT hurts my heart deeply to know the torcher they endured just to survive .The sadness of mind body and spirit destroyed our dignity our food our water so we were left for certain death BUT OUR SPIRIT WAS / IS much stronger deeper than their greed can go
@nikkiloveslife4841 no one would could begin to know what life entails for an Empath on a daily basis. Our hearts are pure loving and kind moreover, that is why folks animals and children are drawn to our shining lights. However, being vulnerable is a huge concern as not so nice people take complete advantage of our good nature!! Unfortunately, we get our hearts broken time and again feeling others pain from whatever reason .It gets pretty taxing sometimes but we have big shoulders ..lol We are deep thinkers often to a fault ..we seek answers to where when why and how far plus never give up until an issue is resolved .I never knew there was a name for our character until two years ago .My life would've been more fulfilling if I had known the meaning of our mission from God . Thank you so much for responding it's refreshing to find like people and know the other dark side of being so sensitive .When we need our batteries recharged ( many times) the simple calming of Mother EARTH environment s like listening to the rain dropping steadily on a tin roof ,a walk on the beach or hike in the mountains .These are pleasures that God graciously gave to us as his creation...with the hectic world we now live in people do not stop long enough to smell the roses and its a shame cuz there is such beauty in God's paint brush.Blessings to you hun and to all .
However now there are so many ‘celebs’ eager to ply empty words with little action…she was so raw and honest and a light on a dark time. And shite! What a sense of humour!!
@@rayaqin to make it simple, people nowadays call it simply as cancel culture. Banned from SNL, people burnt her cd back then, got countless hissy fit, even well-known public figures like madonna were invovled in mocking her after she ripped a pope picture for protesting the child/sex abuse practice by catholic church.
@@stidwell91 She did have high morals ...she was HONEST about her views about sex.... unlike all the hypocrites who probably pleasure themselves over every unconceivable taboo going behind closed doors and them take the moral high ground. And anyway...who are you to judge....what goodness have you delivered to mankind on a global level ? Please let us all know and then maybe we can JUDGE you !
yes so beautiful - still I never liked that expression - ahead of her time - people say that to me all the time and it just saddens me and I feel like more of an outcast and get confused - like people need to catch up to me? I don't think it's about being ahead of individuals I think it's about seeing a truth and being suppressed by society instead of welcomed. Unfortunately time brings things to justice - but not always - we learn from our mistakes - so let's learn by paying attention to artists and supporting who speak truth instead of being part of suppressing them.
I didn’t understand her when she broke out as a kid but I think you are right. In a way, lady gaga and other ppl try to be non political but universal like this
Was she? We had the punk movement and political cry babies like Morrissey lol before she was on the scene we even had the riot grrl movement around the same time
Not to start a debate or anything but I always roll my eyes in exasperation when I hear yet another "_insert name_ was wayyyy ahead of their time!" ... It's just people like her or anybody else for that matter who stood up for something when it wasn't fashionable to be like that on twitter, that made "this time" possible (whatever that even is) as opposed to "their time". Values are timeless, and when somebody 30 or 300 years ago had them they weren't "ahead of their time", they just had these values. The world being what is sometimes makes people (culture) forget but it's not like some time ago people wouldn't be able to discern right from wrong. Ok, sermon over, back to the song.
you are wise when you trick the tricksters. She was just intelligent... sadly.. if she woul've been wise she would've sent her message anyway. She depended on too many sharks around her. Artists like her should keep it independent all the way.
Never saw this broadcast. "Crazy" Sinead sounds completely sane, lucid, intelligent, & sensible. I think I agreed with just about everything, if not everything that she said.
She got lost after having a Radical Hysterectomy in 2015. That's when the Mental Illness took over 😿😿 she had no support system or Friends to help her through it.
@@janiceflory673 No it was long before that. National Headlice awareness week, 4 kids by 4 fathers, she was kicked out of 7 schools in Waterford. She was batshit crazy long before that.
Man, I was a kid when the Arsenio Hall Show was on and didn't fully appreciate just how amazing he was as a host. Really respectful and asked very insightful questions. He needs to come back! Also, Sinead was so far ahead of her time that we still haven't reached the time where her heart is speaking from. Rest in power, Irish Queen.
Yes, especially today most late night interviews are short and superficial. Arsenio would allocate extra time for guests when appropriate. He’d sometimes even skip the opening monologue so they wouldn’t have to cut interviews short or drop guests.
Yep. He was very unappreciated at the time. Even criticized a lot. But he deserves huge credit for bringing so much talent onto TV screens across N. America. Talent that wasn't getting it's due on the usual shows. Edgy comedians, controversial musicians, metal bands, hip hop, and up and coming actors, directors etc...He was really great.
It's really simple: We all owe Sinead O'Conner an apology. Simple as that. I'm sorry Sinead. You were right. About this. About everything you said. If I had listened to you, I would have been a better person. If we had all listened to you, this would have been a better world. I only hope that, 30 years later isn't too late for us to learn.
She became a legend to me instantly after SNL. Growing up catholic you always had an uneasy feeling you were in some alternate reality. I happily left and never looked back.
Dear Sinead, as a 64 year old that was wowed by the first song I ever heard on radio getting ready for work one early morning, Mandinka, you had me hooked. You are a poet, truthteller and a great musical artist. I’m so sorry this fucked up world got the better of you. It’s not fair ❤️❤️
That was a very sweet and beautiful comment. I'm almost 34 and sometimes forget those older than me can have the thoughts and feelings that I do too. I live being able to relate people. ❤️
She is our times Joan of Arc vocally. I have so much respect for her and her honesty and sticking to her beliefs. She is an incredible singer, super intelligent and extremely honest. That’s a triple threat in my book!!! Thank you Sinead for being you!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Micheline J - Well said. Honesty and being true to yourself is the only way. NOT always easy. Can't see how anyone couldn't want to wish Sinead all the best, given how she's been recently. Regards.
It really pisses me off how hated she was throughout her career for merely having the guts to stand up for what she believed was right. The record execs/pop media definitely spurred on the image that she was a crazy woman who needed to be silenced but the masses also ate it up. I remember she was massively unpopular after the SNL thing, celebrities like Sinatra and Joe Pesci called her a “brat” for “disrespecting the pope” when she was calling attention to institutionalized child abuse. She was perpetually painted as an ungrateful child or crazy when she should’ve been painted a hero for speaking truth. I wonder if she’d be more accepted if she’d come to fame in today’s cultural climate?
I am not sure where you got the idea she was calling to institutionalized child abuse, not that, that is not part of it. She was calling attention to the Catholic Churches crimes against women, and their influence in Ireland. Specifically the Catholic Laundries, of which she was sent to. The last Laundry closed in 1997. Women in Ireland were second class citizens, and basically with the influence and blessing of the church. Not sure if it is much better.
She was ahead of her time! What a shame that catholic priests were able to carry on abusing young boys for so.long with no recourse while this poor woman's career was basically destroyed when she spoke up against it. What an ass-backwards world we live in!
My grandmother was from Ireland , You didn't bring up the Roman Catholic Church to her. She about died when my uncle voted for Kennedy a Catholic. Bad blood between the Irish and Roman Catholic.
@@mikejanicke308 we all fall victim to time . Anyone that could look that good with a shaved head has to be special . Aside from that she is a good person , are you ?
She was so intelligent, sensitive, so ahead of her time,an old soul, abused by her mom and later not respected for saying the truth about "stuff". Rest in peace pretty lady...
Colton Coiner true but if she didn't stir up the pot so much back then maybe people wouldn't progress as much. In a way she sacrificed her career for the world, I feel like she's one of the people who really made a change, just from her speaking she opened many people's eyes.
Nope it would pretty much be the same. I understand why you say that though. However when anyone REAL stands up an speaks from the HEART, they become a 'problem' an people want them gone!
Yeah because everyone is so enlightened and revolutionary now with all the sleazy plastic talentless hacks that are popular and all the mindless vapid consumerism/s. People like Sinead would simply be ridiculed no matter the time period...that's how this world is.
Naw man cancel culture and all the pressures, the old days were the good days when you could more freely say what you wanted to say without feeling compelled to speak one way or the other. After all what about those who are neither right nor left, or just think differently. Afterall we can see how tough the press is on Billie Eilish, who came to stardom at a younger age than Sinead
What a great host Arsenio was, so kind with her. Wow! She was only 23 and decades ahead of her time. I send her love through these rough times she is going through with the loss of her son. She is a lightworker brought here to plant the seeds in which we can see growing now.
Yes, I always loved her and her music, I was in high school at the time and did not realize what a gift she was to the world. She was definitely ahead of her time. To take on the world at such a young age is very bold and courageous the world was not ready for her. She was definetly sent here on a mission, she stands out from the crowd. She is definetly a light worker sent to uplift humanity and shed light on the wrong doings of society. You are a beautiful soul. Putting her career on the line says a lot about her true purpose here. Thank you 😊💙🙏🏽
@@summermoon3369 She was too real for the fake world of the music industry. I personally believe she's the most beautiful and innocent person who has ever appeared on TV. Beautiful, both physically *and* considering her soul, her essence and her being. And "innocence" in the sense that she was authentic and her intentions were pure, she wanted to have a good impact on the world through her music and fight against injustices.
The moment she talked about how she felt about getting so much hate from people really got to me... She was so young then and despite her strength, her vulnerability always showed in her eyes. Her emotional intelligence outshines all - and will do forever. Her voice will be ringing in many ears for years to come. 💔
I met Sinead in wilmette Illinois later on in her life . She had put on weight and aged like we all did . I could see her pain 💔 in her gorgeous grey eyes and all that pain she endured lifelong. Many are unaware of the demons that tortured her . She was a beautiful mystical creature that was to fragile for this world yet strong and fierce to protect others . She was wearing a shapless grey dress and stradeling her bike that had a wicker basket full of fliwers and fruits and vegetables. At the farmers market. Unless you knew her like myself she blended in with the scenery. A beautiful fall day in illinois the smell of Halloween and an amazing human being. I will never forget
Thank you for sharing this it really touched me and I could visualize her as you wrote. Simply no one like her in my time here and I am continually inspired by her even in death.
What's sad is that a lovely interview like this couldn't happen now, on both sides. Even Arsenio is charming and funny but they wouldnt allow him to say half his jokes here, and probably wouldn't allow this interview to happen without it being edited or guided through (earpiece and all). It does make me sad that we dont have as many cheeky, fun, intelligent interviews like this much anymore, and not sure what awaits us in the future if this continues
She has always been brutally honest, and delivers the truth of many things beautifully. Her voice is powerful, her soul is and always will be a brilliant light. RIP Sinead. You deserved better from humanity and they showed their worst when you gave your best.
She was simply too good for this dimension and she is now free of this cruel world...she is looking down on us now from a better place thinking 'poor suckers'....we humans are still too ignorant and arrogant in believing that THIS existence is better than the one beyond.
I’d forgotten how deep this interview was and his extremely intelligent this woman was and she was just 24 here! She deserved much better treatment and support than she got. Now that she’s dead everyone’s remembering her and we’re all in shock and sad, but I wish she had been appreciated more while she was with us. Also, this interview is hilarious! She knew how to flirt!!!
Many 20-something year olds are quite intelligent. However the record execs/media shuts down any creative talent and paints another image of dumb bimbos pretending to be teenagers…all bleach blonde and half naked and drugged up by the time they are in their mid-20s.
And so it goes with many artists. They see the reality that abounds. They feel the pain. They are tortured by the things they go through or see others go through. Everyone is always ready to pounce on people who have opinions that don’t meet theirs. And call them crazy. Newsflash it isn’t the one who see injustice that are Crazy it’s the ones that don’t. We live in an upside down world and society. She’s spot on about what she said and now even more so today. Rest in Peace Sinead. Some of us heard you then and now.
This is the most amazing interview. How misunderstood she was. I hate how the only time the audience clapped when he talked about her being attractive she was so ahead of her time its so ridiculous.
They were strangely silent when she spoke of human rights. Which you would think we can all agree on. Our population is conditioned to serve our masters. Thank you Sinéad.
I now find it very odd that an Arsenio Hall audience didn't support her more when she discussed human rights or segregation. If she was in front of a BLM audience today she'd be drowned out by the standing ovations she was getting.
❤ She will always be known for seeking and speaking the truth ❤ you're totally right ✅️ she will always be a queen in my mind too & I love the Sinèad o rebellion ❤ 💚🤍🧡
With her beauty, intelligence and absolute musical talent imagine what she could have become if she'd have played the labels game. At 24 she knew more about herself than most people will in their entire lifetime. She was fragile, but so true to herself.
I think you've completely missed her point if you're suggesting that she should have "played the labels game." She became a legend by not playing a game made to exploit artists. She has even said herself that the backlash when she tore up the picture of the pope saved her from a pop celebrity status that she didn't want. She saw herself as a protest singer not a pop star. As for everything else you said about her, I agree.
Absolutely 💯! Fragile coz of all that's been thru...but still an icon even at this age...not many 24 yr olds are smart honest intelligent and self aware as she is
“Imagine what she could have become”? What?? Look at what she DID become and without playing their games and conforming to their wishes. Utter legend and all the more amazing for not playing the “labels game” whatever that is?
She spoke her truth, she sang her truth, and she was an exemplar of the idea that an artist is a reflection of the world. Brava Sinead, well done. And what a glorious voice.

Arsenio was so important for the advocacy of counter-cultures. He brought on guests to speak about important issues that other talk shows would ignore. I think that's why so many artists preferred to talk with him over his competitors. It would be great to see him given this kind of platform again.
I hadn't thought of it that way. Thank you for this extremely important perception. Arsenio was in a class by himself. And to Think we grew up just blocks apart!😅

I still can't believe that Sinead O'Connor was in my Caribbean Studies class at North London University in 1996. She wasn't there for long, possibly 2 months. Everyone knew who she was (obviously) but no one made a big deal of it. We kinda all knew (I assume) that she wanted to keep her head down and just study. She was very chilled. RIP Sinead x
I don't think that's right. I'm sure she would have loved to make new friends outside of music and fame. Didn't you say hi? She was probably too nervous to be social.

She was in my singing class after the ripping up the Pope thing. She actually lived in the school (which was just a house) for quite some time with her son. She was homeless because she had given her house in LA away to charity. Her dad was also in the singing class. Lovely man.
This is the first time I have ever heard this song and as an Irish person and a human being, I can say that my views and mentality are very similar to Sinead's. The song is a masterpiece and heaven has gained another angel.
She is HEAVY. We are not use to hearing unabashed forwardness in Today's World. It takes you aback. But I am a respecter of forwardness & Absolute Truth. I admire her steeliness.
Both Sinead O'Connor and Tracy Chapman are in the news this week. One story is tragic, the other triumphant. As a seventeen year-old in 1988, and a fan of both, I never would've predicted this outcome.
It's rare when you hear a vocalist with perfect pitch, and the ability to inflect at so many levels of nuance, and carry it over verses. I can't send I've spent much time around opera, but that would probably be the first place I would fail to find a sound of grace.
Sinead has always been beautiful, considerate, passionate and kind hearted. She felt she had a voice and she spoke for those who didn't have a platform. I've loved her humility, her courage, her artistry, her boldness since the late 80s. I am saddened that she is now gone but hope she is at peace with her beloved son.
If you want to kill your dog say it has rabies. That is what the "industry" wanted to do to her. But she resisted and her true beauty shined on. She was against the war in iraq from the begining and she was right all along, but greedy people own your brain. Last of her kind, so beautiful in so many respects.
As an irish person, theres a few things im immensely proud of - our independence, our international rugby team, and Sinead O'Connor. She should be on a coin.
Such a beautiful heart and mind. If people would have listened to what she had to say instead of criticizing her, maybe the world would be a better place.

It really pisses me off how hated she was throughout her career for merely having the guts to stand up for what she believed was right.
@@Analysis_Paralysis I agree wholeheartedly😊
@@Analysis_Paralysis she is absolutely ethereal ❤ and deserves a massive public apology
She was right THE WHOLE TIME
She was definitely a gem in her time. It's crazy how they called her crazy when she is on point about everything then and now.
Holy crap, she was beautiful! People don't speak like this anymore...
drjones yes she is
No one
Still is.
Haha. Come to Ireland
She is very articulate..wisdom beyond her years! RIP 🙏
She was murdered by the same people that she went against.
so good said about wonderfull powerwoman
Her comments about material success in the music industry were SPOT ON and still so relevant. Such a loss.
this interview reminds me of WHY I adored Sinead when I first heard Lion and the Cobra in 1989.
This is the most amazing interview. How misunderstood she was. I hate how the only time the audience clapped when he talked about her being attractive she was so ahead of her time its so ridiculous.
I thought the audience gave her a grand welcome and plenty of applause. They definitely got her.
@@Bigtime1998 Yes, Bigtime, I agree.
She passed away today 7/26/23 and watching this now I believe she was way ahead of her time😢 RIP SINEAD

She became what she was because she didn't play thier little games. The wheat was truly separated from the chafe.
She was a F'n marine!!! She fought for human rights. Beautiful soul.
Hear her (national 'anthem') "'Irish Ways and Irish Laws'", again and again...
6:00 Londoner, Johnathan King ,who said Sinead should be spanked, was later jailed for 7 years for child sexual abuse in Belmarsh, Elmley and Maidstone prisons in England.

"I think I'm hideous" - It's heart breaking she doesn't even realize how beautiful she is. It must be her childhood with a mother beating her up on regular basis and making her repeat "I'm nothing" over and over. She never really recovered from that trauma.

It definitely is. Speaking from experience that sort of stuff stays with you mentally & always causes self doubt even as an adult, therapy can only do so much 🥺

We have alot more beautiful writers and artists just like her living here in Ireland with us but everyday they are pushed down and get no airtime. The amount of dumbing down of everything is getting ridiculous. 🇮🇪
That’s so amazing her voice sounds so beautiful no instruments needed.
Her voice is Great.. She's up there with the best ever.
Yeah, she was a badass no doubt about it
I think I was too young at the time to realise how damn beautiful she was, that smile, those eyes, the flirting… and wow so intelligent and ahead of her time. All added to an incredible voice ❤️
I was somewhere between 12 to 13 years old when she had her hit, and all everyone talked about was how pretty she was but too bad she didn't have hair lol it was literally a number one topic for months at my junior high
@@veggigoddess
Ironically, it is my belief that her lack of hair made her more attractive. Her eyes were transfixing to look into and when she spoke or sang all you could see was her intoxicating voice.
So talented. No special effects no other instruments just her instrument. Stunningly profound and beautiful performance.
Profound! That was the word i was looking for.
The original version is by an irish group Moving Hearts, check it out, they were great.

Arsenio shows the flag, audience reacts. Sinead says:”I don’t believe in Segregation” ~ Audience: SILENT. Lovely song. Peace and blessings to Ireland.
Goes to show how warped US audiences are.
@@MissjunebugfreakI recently said to a friend: "Many peoples choices in life are already made for them and they don't realise that".

She's 100% an Empath, Idealist, and Misanthrope. It's painful to be her! 💔
I know the vibes… 🥲
Agreed
Arsenio was nervous like he's interviewing a Head of State. Sinead really had this super matured presence and intellect.
Her album 'I do not want what I haven't got' is a master piece, listening to the entire album is an utter experience, her voice range, how it breaks on those high notes. I have always admired her. She will live forever through her music.
Agree completely. And Black boys on mopeds, the live version in TH-cam especially, is a simply perfect song. In every way.

I still can't believe that Sinead O'Connor was in my Caribbean Studies class at North London University in 1996. She wasn't there for long, possibly 2 months.

The Irish tend to have a lovely accent.
Both Sinead O'Connor and Tracy Chapman are in the news this week. One story is tragic, the other triumphant. As a seventeen year-old in 1988, and a fan of both, I never would've predicted this outcome.
Never put this together. Both touched me more than most ever could. Thx for the wisdom
It's rare when you hear a vocalist with perfect pitch, and the ability to inflect at so many levels of nuance, and carry it over verses. I can't send I've spent much time around opera, but that would probably be the first place I would fail to find a sound of grace.
