Alex pointing out that Greg wrote his own name was an absolutely delightful moment. We’ve seen tons of contestants get lost in their own brains, but it’s truly a delicacy to see it happen to the Taskmaster himself. Truly an “am I the spider?” moment.
There is some positivity - which interestingly even holds on in the case of failure. I wonder whether one develops this attitude in competitive sports or whether one can only get into sports at that level when already having it. Either way, it is a great delight to watch.
Gosh as a non-British person I'd never heard of any of these contestants, but I wish there was an actual series with all five of these people. ESPECIALLY Sir Mo. Not only has he won the competition, but also my heart
@@karinapfel650what a weird job a 'presenter' is....like "what's your skill?" "Oh I...uh...announce people really well" Like Ryan Seacrest, when you think about it...his job is just to announce people, ask a couple questions pre-fed to him, and that's it...they really don't do much
This was one of the nicest specials ever. Sir Mo is a true athlete in every sense of the word, Rebecca has the Taskmaster spirit in her (when she pulled the can down into the bowl I'm sure my eyes lit up), Amelia was a bit of a dark horse but she really shone when she had the chance and she was a delight in the studio, Greg Jr. is the classic everyman this show was made to break down, and Vorders is nuts and I love her to bits.
Rebecca's aim pulling that can off the pedastal and into the fish bowl was absolutely amazing. And I can't imagine another episode will have a final score like this one; great ending to a great episode with a great group of competitors.
**SPOILER** I love how supportive Rebecca was, especially at the end. She was so jazzed about the four-way tie for second, and was all-in on hyping up Mo.
So apparently, according to the Taskmaster podcast, each contestant's coat in the studio task had a list of where each item was supposed to go, so if anyone saw it, they could've just ignored Greg's directions and won
I would like to properly petition for the inclusion of Sir Mo Farah into every future season of Taskmaster. Bonus points if he can be digitally edited into the previous seasons somehow. What an absolute treasure he is.
Rebecca (Self Esteem) and Amelia are like two sides of the same coin, like two weird tricksy elves who might live in your walls and move your belongings, or give your cat catnip at 3 a.m., or hide your keys when they’re bored, or just hold wild parties without giving you much thought - like two aspects of self-possessed awesome-lady energy, and Carol Vorderman is that same tricksy-elf energy slightly grown up, like that woman who lives at the edge of the woods and seems outwardly calm, but everyone knows she KNOWS things, and you’re pretty sure at night you’ve glimpsed her dancing naked around a bonfire. Just a really awesome trio to have on the show … and Mo was cool too!
(if you care about points, this comment contains pretty big spoilers for them. but you've already watched the video if you're down here, right? right.) if it had turned out mo farah and only mo farah was found violating the no-bending rules, his final score would be down 5, and everyone else's up 1, putting everyone at exactly 15 points by the end of the show and that would be the most god damn incredible tiebreaker yet
Carol also should have been disqualified for touching the mat in the counting task, which would have bumped up everyone else’s score except Greg and therefore result in a 3 way tiebreaker between Mo, Rebecca and Amelia, but yeah that would have been epic
We've had a lot of fun contestants over the years, but it's a real bummer that these never got a full series. There were quite a few great characters. Mos was a great delight (I completely lost it at his celebration) and as soon as Rebecca said that she was a fan of the show I was expecting a lot of fun with her and she did definitely not disappoint. Hope you are all having a great new year and as always: A big thanks to the taskmaster team for making such an amazing show and making it available around the world.
Best way to start a New Year... can't wait for the brandy new episode on the 3rd but for now im happy to rewatch this🎉 Hope everyone's 2024 is filled with as much laughter and joy that our Taskmaster brings ❤
Did Vorders count the big semicircular dot at the top of the board as a half a dot? Because that's INCREDIBLY nerdy. As usual it's a shame we couldn't have her (and everyone) for a full series
I feel that Victoria Coren Mitchell would have been even nerdier and tried arguing that the two colours cancelled each other out and the correct answer was zero.
wow what a cast. could have watched a whole season with these guys, they all seemed so happy and grateful to be there, great departure from the celebrities who don't know anything about the format going in.
Mo is absolutely adorable!! And I am sorry if that sounds childish or not adult enough but he is so sweet and has a wonderful smile and never scowls. And a Sir! I wonder if he gets tired of that every time someone addresses him. Never just Mo.
What an extremely great episode! The contestants were amazing, the commentary was great and the tasks where INSANELY GOOD. What an energy this episode had just great all around. Happy new year!
it's so lovely seeing Sir Farah here, also Greg has always been a dream guest of mine this episode hits all the right things, wish they were here for a whole season
I wonder if you could have just rung the doorbell yourself? It specified until next ring so you throw the glasses on, ring it, throw them off. It’d have helped some of the chaos lol
Alex said that it's the three of them + Greg and a Channel 4 Exec. Each of the five make a list then they meet up and try to work out who works best with whom, who's available etc
Great episode, thanks for uploading/unhiding it again! I can’t be the only one that hadn’t seen it before. One small moment (among many) I enjoyed was when Alex got a head massage as well. So nice of her! Happy New Year everyone!
Greg loves playing the bad guy , but he's too nice to be believable and Alex has one of the only shows where the creator picks on himself .😂 Love this show!
Rebecca being so supportive and full of energy was wonderful! Sir Mo seems like a sweethear, Amelia is amazing, andI didn't know Carol and Greg but I had so much fun watching this special
That was 45 minutes of pure joy. Great bunch. I loved Amelia even though I didn't know her before. Will check out her stuff. Watching some team tasks with this lot would have been awesome.
Oh so this is last year's NYT! I was confused because the lineup was different from the recent trailer-- how exciting, I'm guessing the 2024 one will be up soon as well! Thank you TM team! :D
Great group. I’m about three series in and this was one of my faves. That Mo won with his unbridled happiness was icing on the cake. Find taskmaster recently, shout out to USA Today, has made my holidays. The bantering and ribbing are good natured and not mean spirited. Everyone seems to be having a good time. This is great television. One a scale of 1 to 5, I’d give it a 5 and I don’t give a 5 very often.
While I still don't know who any of the people are at the start of the new year specials, I am starting to appreciate how they have crafted tasks that toy with peoples' specialties. It's amazing! Watching an Olympic athlete walk like a robot was hilarious.
Was anybody sitting the whole time wondering if you ever won was going to go up on stage and they'd just have the real life van up there? The cardboard cut out killed me 😂
I don't understand why Vorderman guessed an odd number of dots. The ONLY thing you can know about the number of dots on a card with two sides with an equal number of dots on each side is that the number will be even.
I asked someone the date the other day and they said "12/30 (or 30/12, they didn't actually say this parentheses part) almost the end." I'm very grateful to watch this at "the end."
Sir Mo Farah's joy and enthusiasm are so infectious!! What an absolutely beautiful human being. I knew very little about him prior to this show. (I thought maybe he played soccer...???) Did some research, what an amazing dude!!!
For those confused this is last year's special. They had removed it and are just re-uploading it now. The 2024 special is coming out next week!
Was looking exactly for that info 😅
Thank you, thought I was losing my mind
I was confused, so thanks.
I thought I was losin' my mind.
Ah darn I got so excited
Alex pointing out that Greg wrote his own name was an absolutely delightful moment. We’ve seen tons of contestants get lost in their own brains, but it’s truly a delicacy to see it happen to the Taskmaster himself. Truly an “am I the spider?” moment.
"One point to Greg Davies" says Alex - and Greg doesn't even notice.
Mo came in for one episode and absolutely smashed the "contestant you'd most want to be friends with" competition. And the actual competition.
Yeah, rare for anyone to actually nail both. But his reaction to the head massage is one of the most delightful things I've ever seen, lol.
There is some positivity - which interestingly even holds on in the case of failure. I wonder whether one develops this attitude in competitive sports or whether one can only get into sports at that level when already having it. Either way, it is a great delight to watch.
He's so cheerful, seems like a very nice dude!
A little too good.
We should check his basement freezer.
@@robcoop6521 It's organized, clean, and neat. I'm a bit more worried now.
Shout out to all the introverts with no NYE plans that are watching taskmaster instead

Ayyyyy. I got excited for a second thinking this is the new one. But it's the one from a year ago and I've already seen it 😭
Happy NYE from one of those introverts haha

Sir Mo is a multiple time Olympic gold medalist long distance runner
None of these people are comedians like the show's normal contestants. The one-offs always have a pretty interesting cast.
Amelia is a comedian and presenter.
@@karinapfel650what a weird job a 'presenter' is....like "what's your skill?" "Oh I...uh...announce people really well"

@@BichaeldeAngeloAnd yet, because of that she’s one of the only contestants (throughout all series) I knew going into it as an American
I'm sure they just weighed the fish pellets and got the number that way but I want to imagine Alex just counting them one by one for each contestant.
Maybe he called up Josh?
Or an intern which subsequently has quit.
@@eleanorholmes9431 Yes! He definitely called up Josh Widdicombe😂

She was dang good at math tho
Rebecca's aim pulling that can off the pedastal and into the fish bowl was absolutely amazing. And I can't imagine another episode will have a final score like this one; great ending to a great episode with a great group of competitors.
I will never forgive TM for assembling this delightful cast for only a single episode!!! I loved them all sooo much!!
**SPOILER** I love how supportive Rebecca was, especially at the end. She was so jazzed about the four-way tie for second, and was all-in on hyping up Mo.
She was such a joy to watch, seemed so genuinely thrilled to be there!
So apparently, according to the Taskmaster podcast, each contestant's coat in the studio task had a list of where each item was supposed to go, so if anyone saw it, they could've just ignored Greg's directions and won
Episode 111 if anyone's interested
There's always a little trick like that in the *really* ridiculous tasks
I was hoping for contender Greg saying “Greg says I win” since he has the same name
I loved how much pure joy Sir Mo had throughout the episode.
Mo seems like such a delight, just enjoying himself, having the best time of his life! haha
I would like to properly petition for the inclusion of Sir Mo Farah into every future season of Taskmaster. Bonus points if he can be digitally edited into the previous seasons somehow. What an absolute treasure he is.
Ok Britain, Where have y'all been hiding Sir Mo Farah? Because that man is so incredibly delightful. I'm overjoyed
If you think he's wholesome and delightful now, you really should look up the story of his "mobot" olympic victory celebration.
What great guests! Makes me wish that this could have been a full season! ♥
Mo's reaction to the massage was so wholesome!
Sir Mo is the most genuinely delightful human being I've ever seen
All of these contestants are phenomenal in this special, which is truly a treat, but Sir Mo especially
I was NOT prepared for the “blackbird!” The noise that came out of my mouth 😂
Very happy to see this one again. Sir Mo is who I'd most like to emulate when I grow up.

Sir Mo has such a beautiful smile. He makes me happy just seeing him be happy.
If you ever wonder what ADHD feels like that first task is a great metaphor
I care for a dementia sufferer, this should be a training video for people who are doing this. This is life for her 🤯 I think.

Carol's painting is indeed abstract in nature because I can see a person riding on a horse. Here is the time when I saw it 27:14.
Did Vorders count the big semicircular dot at the top of the board as a half a dot? Because that's INCREDIBLY nerdy. As usual it's a shame we couldn't have her (and everyone) for a full series
I think so, because she multiplied her answer by 2 and got an odd number
If both sides have a half dot, it counts as one. Definitely how Alex would count it.
I feel that Victoria Coren Mitchell would have been even nerdier and tried arguing that the two colours cancelled each other out and the correct answer was zero.
