This game opened the doors for the Spread Offense across CFB. Northwestern ran an early version that allowed them to score at will against a tough Michigan defense. Great game!
I remember watching this game, but forgotten the details to it. Such a wild shootout before the spread offense made high scoring games more commonplace. I remember this game finished just before eight p.m. when it was scheduled to end around seven here on the east coast. Thanks for posting.
I remember watching this game. I was 14, yelling and freaking out and my mom had no clue what was going on. Explaining all of what was happening, and she looked at me like I was nuts. No relation to Michigan or Northwestern.
Quite possibly the apex of NU football. I don't know though. The Wildcats have a way of literally rising from the dead First , Gary Barnett gives them 2 B1G Championships after years of football futility. THEN, Randy Walker comes from out of nowhere and the cardiac Cats are back. Then Coach Walk dies unexpectedly, but wait Fitz is there and the Cats are back for years. THEN( what again?) The Cats are left for dead with the hazing scandal, but Coach Braun leads them from out of nowhere to within a 54 yd FG of a B1G West Title. Who are these guys?
@magicj125 It's up there as one of the greatest. Only Boise State/Oklahoma in '07 and Texas-USC '06 rank higher on my list. This had all the drama, wish the offensive shootout throughout the game, to the 4th and Goal dropped touchdown pass, and the fumble at the end. This game was absolutely crazy. Also, listen to that fucking crowd when the fumble happens. Amazing.
In his prime, Damien Anderson was a stud. It seemed as if every time he touched the ball, he could break one. If only injuries hadn't plagued his career ...
AT gets handoff & the clinching 1st down...I said just fall down NOW, don't fight for that extra yard and risk a fumble... AT was a great all purpose player, could run, throw, block or catch. His one weakness was a tendency to fumble.
I like the Michigan players went up to that Northwestern player who dropped a open pass for that TD that was painful and nobody on Michigan was on that guy that was sad moment and they just went to him and cope with that northwestern player that was real

WE where there to watch our son play on the NU defense. Best game I've ever seen. Great!
Why don’t they have the full version of this game.
Does anybody have the full game? A great game to watch.
