No. Courts are for trying cases brought forth by prosecutors. The Supreme Court Justices role is to interpret the Constitution. They can't write new laws. That's Congress's job.

Re Public Trust in our government and democratic institutions:
I was in high school when Reagan came out with "Government isn't the solution. Government is the problem."
Maybe I was so close to studying American history at the time, but I couldn't understand why anyone would vote for someone who said that.
In our country, We the People is the government.
So Reagan was saying, out loud and in front of people:
We the People is the problem.
Democracy is the problem.
I never understood why so many Americans voted against We the People and our democracy. Rather than demanding that our government do better and perform better for We the People.
And let's not forget, that the purpose of seeding distrust in We the People and democracy had a goal:
Reduce regulations (to increase corporate profits) and cut taxes on the ultra-wealthy (so they could be even more wealthy).
