Soon as you showed us how to play the sample at the same speed...something I've been trying to figure out how to do with a sample since EXS, I destroyed that like button so fast!!!!!
Hello Chris. I just want to say thank you for this video and getting to the point. Clear and precise instructions. Some of these other tutorials should take note. 💯
Thanks mate! Yesterday I found a big workflow game changer for me in logic. Just drag any percussive audio file directly on the left side under the existing tracks and you’ll get a variety of options to import the file. Choose „drum machine designer“ and the audio will get splittet by its transients to separate tracks in one folder and you can play it with your keyboard! Amazing
Another very useful and concise lesson! I send anyone starting out in Logic to this series. And although I've been working in Logic since way before Apple bought it there's always something I learn, something I've overlooked. Lots of things actually.
I have an mpc because of connivence but logic quick sampler is really the best sampler out. You can add a sampler to each track and manipulate the same sample totally different track by track
Been pulling my hair out about how playing the pitch changes the playback... I ended up using Alchemy since it doesn't have the playback speed problem but it ruins the quality of your sample idk why. I can't believe all it is is just a simple button sitting right THERE @5:15
This was REALLY helpful, even to me....using Logic since the eMagic days. I wish you would do these series using Masschine as a plugin into Logic. I have owned a Maschine since the early days, upgraded to the newer one again a couple of years ago...but I sitll can't get used to it (even though I love Native Instruments and their bundles).
Have you got a video on how you get the actual samples in the first place ? I get that you drag and drop them into the instrument. But the actual sampling process - say I want to create 10 FX samples using a Moog synth. How do I go about that ? Do I do it within Logic or some other way ? This is where Im confused.
When you are in slice mode can you control the beginning and the end of a section - per se getting rid of a pop or artifacts at the end of a noise? Thanks
Is there an "increase voice" option to play chords in logics sampler? Also when playing a chord (more than one key) in sample mode, do all note transients show up and move around on the wave file? Awesome video Chris!
Chris , so does this mean you can take a John Bonham drum groove and import into logic as a sample. And use Logic Drummer’s drum sounds to play the groove?
@@damienleigh9943 You can get around this by creating a new track, then bringing up the mixer window. Now select the up/down arrow symbol on the Input button for your new track to bring up the list of options. Now select Quick Sampler (Single Sample) and then either Mono or Stereo. This will bring up the Quick Sampler window that you can drag your sample file into.
Anybody know why when I try to use the quick sampler, I can hear piano keys being played over the sample I loaded up?? This just started happening like last week. Can barely hear the sample I’m trying to work with so it’s basically slowing down my workflow on sampled beats, I’m using an AKAI MPK MINI
Thank you for this. When you're in slide mode, is there a feature where you can cut a certain section and drag it onto your track? Also, could you take a sliced section and move it to another spot within the sample?
Hey, i have a question regarding this. Since drum mashine Designer is basicly a trackstack of (usually) quicksampler Tracks, is there an easy way to record directly into quicksampler and then divide the different Sounds on to the notes in drum mashine Designer? RN im doing it awfully slow by recording into a fieldrecorder, importing the Audio files, name them, than drag and drop into an empty Spot in a kit. The idea is to create soundbanks of lets say different Shakers and so on. It would be handy to be able to record directly into logic, but since quicksampler only uses one sample at a time it seems not to work so fast, right? Slice mode doesnt work since i want to process each sample individually, and i don’t want to cut a Long audiofile by transient since i would fill up space with noises i don’t need. Doing it by hand is pretty time consuming.
Great video, as a newbie i did have a question. If i had a drum loop, what is the best way to slice that drum loop so that i would have the individual sounds, bass drum, snare, tom, etc... available to create as single keys on a keyboard, basically, whats is the best approach to slicing a loop up to use individual samples so you can not only use the drum loop but build additional tracks based on the sounds from the loop, hope that made sense ........
So if I play the same sample several time, it doesn't cut the previous one off so I get duplicates, triplicates, etc. How do I make it so every time I hit a key, it kills the audio of the previous one????????????
Confusing video...started by stacking several functions at once without walking through each step individually...like what did the original vocal sample sound like before you messed with it..?
Thanks, Chris! A question on Quick Sampler: I have a snare sample starting BEFORE the beat with a kind of reversed crash (listen here: th-cam.com/video/q5mVMAmWQIs/w-d-xo.html). How can I make the sample of this snare sound so that it starts before the beat in MIDI ? (Hope my question is clear)

Chris you've really nailed these tutorials they are so well put together. Thanks again for all your work.
Oh my lord I am so grateful for how efficient and concise and quick this video production is, I applaud this dude 👏👏👏
These are greatly appreciated! Extremely thorough
That was great. Long time Logic user here, and I totally underuse both sampler and Quick Sampler but this has inspired me to look onto it more.
Thanks!
Beyond brilliant! Thank you!😀
This video is amazing! Thank you for this tutorial!

How do I save my sample for future use?
This lesson alone has saved me a ton of time! So well done!
Fantastic video! You rule dude!

Fantastic video thank you so much!
I forgot how great the quick sampler is!
Great video and super clear! Thank you!
Hi Chris love your work its fantastic, I'm learning tons...

When I release my first song this video is what helped me

this was helpful thank you
Loved this! Easy to follow. Thank you. Now subscribed.

You are awesome. Thank you for your great help.
This is so good for me man...
This is such an incredible tutorial well done
Great video
Awesome tutorial
Thank you 👏👏👏Superior🎉
does anyone know why when I try to drag my sample into the track area, none of the drop down options show for me ☹
Great tutorial Thank you for this!
Apple got busy with quick sampler 👍🏾
THANKS! Love these videos :) and this series.
Thanks! How do we save it for future use?

Quick question… I have the perfect sample, any quick way I can save that perfect loop, stab or hit to a Wav. So I can use outside the sampler?
I like it that you can use a drum from audio in the step sequencer
When you are in slice mode can you control the beginning and the end of a section - per se getting rid of a pop or artifacts at the end of a noise? Thanks
Thanks!
Is it possible to use your open samples on the presets? As in you find a great preset but want to see what it sound like with your own sample
Is there an "increase voice" option to play chords in logics sampler? Also when playing a chord (more than one key) in sample mode, do all note transients show up and move around on the wave file? Awesome video Chris!

Absolutely
What if we don’t get the drop down menu? I’ve tried this a million times and it doesn’t work.
Neither do i any fix for it?

Damn so much you can do with it
