I know this lake very well fished it for 35 years.. I'm gonna tell ya there are Fricken huge bronze backs in there if you know where to go...I'm talking over 20 inches. In this lake there's some structure with extreme drop offs . Hit the point on the north end just west of the dam on the bay side of the point ...there's also giant walleye in this spot except on the east side of the point in the corner between the dam and the beginning of the point ...slow roll a Rapala perch pattern 4 inch is good . Then come back and tell old Barton how ya did
How do you drag the bottom of Horsetooth without getting snagged every cast? I’d need a Berkeley Sponsorship to offset the loss of baits. Look forward to seeing you out there someday. Huge fan.
Focus on dragging gravel areas with semi-tight line. I "tickle jig" more rocky areas of the lake...meaning the jig is barely in contact with the rocks. It's all about line control!
I know this lake extremely well...use a lindy snagless sinker and rig a grub , minnow or crawler on a floating Jig head I usually inject air into my night crawlers keeps your hook and bait off the bottom and up where the walleye can see it and I guarantee you won't get hung up on the bottom....then come back and tell old Barton how ya made out....rig the lindy above a barrel swivel and a 18 inch line from the swivel to your Jig head
