Gras Rifle Bolt Disassembly and Reassembly

- A brief instructional video showing how to disassemble and reassemble the bolt for a Gras infantry rifle or Gras carbine. This is for cleaning, maintenance, and safety so all parts can be properly inspected. The field strip for this French rifle will require the use of a screwdriver and a block of wood or other object that you don't mind marring.

Excellent video Gary!!
Thanks! Great Job!
Glad you liked it!
Mine have a hole in stock, is that for taking the bolt apart like K98’s and such?
French rifles had a “roundel” or small piece of a different type of wood in their stocks. This piece likely just fell out. I thought the same thing at first because one of my Gras from Ethiopia is the same as yours.
Do the notches have to remain lined up after reassembly?
No, they don't. There's some play after it's assembled and that won't affect anything.
Nice reference material. If I ever get a Gras Rifle, this video will come in handy.
I intend to make more of these, but I also legitimately did not see one that's just disassembling the bolt. I was surprised by that.
@@GearyGunderson I didn't even know that some bolts could be dissembled, on certain guns.
You bailed me out!
Thanks! Showed me how to strip down the Gras action in my frankenrifle.
Had to be a reason for it being there though
Thanks for the video. Just got one of these yesterday and it's filthy! I'll be following along as I clean it.
I'm glad it helped!
