That was so sweet watching your little one helping with the harvest. I remember when mine were at that age were they wanted to help. I do have grandchildren that age, but I don't see them as often as I wish I could. 💖💖💖

The volunteers are everywhere! I had one ground cherry plant last year and now they are all over the garden haha

The grass has gotten out of control. We had rain and summer thunderstorms for almost 2 weeks straight there and it seemed like every free moment I had to weed it was raining haha. There is still a lot to weed, but it feels nice to have some of it done 😀

The blueberries look amazing!!!! That cabbage looks great too. I can’t anymore with the weeds. Do you want to come over to my house and do it? You did a great job!!!! I’m always so impressed when people can keep up their gardens with no weeds. Our ground garden is just out of control.
haha the weed are a constant battle. It’s only been a few days and they are everywhere again 🙃 my garden is definitely not weed free haha

@@faithandarrowhomestead I did lots of research before planting our and we tested the soil in several different spots around the property to find the most acidic soil for them 😊They prefer a more acidic soil.

There is always so much weeding to be done. It seems that as soon as I finish one areas it’s back a few days later with all the rain we have been having haha.
The kids and ate probably double the amount of berries than what’s in the bowl too! We had a lot of fun! 😊

Hi Anita! I like to believe that God gives me special little miracles every time I find a 4 leaf clover. I find them everywhere and always when I am not looking for them. I have even found several 6 leaf and 7 leafs before. Honestly I find them ALL the time even in like grocery store parking lots haha.

I dont have strawberries but our blueberries are starting to turn blue and enjoying the ripe ones off our early bush! So jealous of your cabbage the critters ate mine! Your onions are so impressive!

Yes it is a solar panel electric fence. We talk about it in more detail in one of our meat chicken videos. It is by premier 1 electric fencing with a solar power battery ☺️

Hi Cara! I have some strawberries but they're still green! I actually live next to a HUGE commercial blueberry field (100's of acres)...and I'm lucky because I also have wild blueberry plants all over my land so every year we get a nice amount of blueberries! The dogs love them, they munch and walk, it's a buffet for them lol! I wish I was in your zone, you have quite a beautiful harvest this early! Those carrots are so cute..."love" carrots! ☺ Nice weeding job. I have to get out there too very soon, the rain here made the weeds really grow the last few days. The onions look great! Oh, I tried to grow ground cherries from seed, but they never grew!

@@bluebirdhomestead I couldn't believe the blueberries when I bought this place 2 years ago! I can't wait to see some of them, I have to walk around the acreage and harvest all I can this year for the freezer! I'm in 5B zone, but the summer here has stalled big time. I actually have the heat on right now, insanity! The potatoes, onions and garlic are loving it though! ☺

Strawberries are a future project for me!! Wow those are big blueberries! Mine are small but this is my first year! I despise weeding although my rabbits and chickens it!! Everything looks great!!😊NEW SUBSCRIBER 😊
Yes buy some strawberries!! We just planted our blueberries last year, so this is only their second season in the ground. They grow so quick! We also put a bird netting over them which has helped. :)
Wow your blueberries look great! Your soil must be good.
We actually have very heavy clay soil here. Before we planted these blueberries we tested the soil in several different locations around the property. Thankfully they seem to be doing well so far! This is only the second year they have been in the ground, so we are happy with them so far :)

@@NinasHere4U You can always try them from somewhere that has a one year warranty! We ordered some of ours through Stark brothers. Some local nursery’s offer similar guarantees. 😊

Hi Jason and Colleen! We grew all of our carrots from seed. The ones shown in the video are Sugar snax carrots and Danvers carrots. I had just thinned them out some so that the other ones could grow bigger. I thought it was so cool how they had twisted themselves around each other! How many peas did you plant?
I planted a lot. They are all sugar snap peas and Sugar ann. I have two arched cattle panels and then 4 other clumps in separate raised beds. I planted them very thick as well, if I had to guess maybe 45 ish seeds. My first wave got hit by a late frost that killed them, so I re-sowed some and then the other ones came back too haha.
