- DNA vs Book of Mormon (INCREDIBLE New Evidence that proves The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, is true, not false). DNA evidence of The Book of Mormon in North America, linking Native Americans to the Jewish population in the Middle East.
To anyone curious here rod meldrums reference that states that haplogroup x was found within hopewell native american groups: Beth Shook, Alison Schultz, David Glenn Smith, Using Ancient mtDNA to Reconstruct the Population History of Northeastern North America, American Journal of Physical Anthropology, Vol. 137:14-29, 2008. I found this in his book "rediscovering the book of mormon through remnant dna" which you can find a free pdf of online

I've studied religions, to include Islam for over 40 years, and in my opinion Mormons do a better job of representing God, Allah SWT to me, than any belief system I have had contact with, ever.
As a Native American descendant, I would like to thank the LDS community for all their genetic research efforts.
I had my DNA test done several years ago. I am 25% East Asian. All my maternal last name and many of the paternal ones are Sephardic Jew. I have native American ancestry too.
Most historians estimate that around 90% of all native inhabitants died within 100 years after Columbus made his first landing in the Americas (some say the number is higher) That could easily wipe out all surviving DNA from a relatively small group of inhabitants. Also, it's possible that the term Lamenite refers to non-Nephites, i.e. it probably refers to natives of Asian descent who mixed in with the population of the Nephite and Lamenite people. It's all speculation. Nothing to lose one's testimony over, for sure.
In the Museum in Coshocton Ohio there are items with ancient Hebrew / Egyptian writing on them - they were found where the indian mounds were being raided for treasure . Further confirmation for me of it's truthfulness

I am 1/16th American Indian. I am from the Lakota blackfoot indian nation. My relatives migrated to Montana. I will have to check the records where they loved before that, do believe it was from the East coast.

Have there been any archeological evidence in the way of coins, metals or other artifacts as described in the Book of Mormon in the regions where these people groups lived?

I have read the Book of Mormon many, many, times. I read it every day. Every time I read it the Spirit of God testifies to me that it is His scripture given to us to know Christ and His true doctrine. Through these experiences I know through the power of the Holy Ghost that the Lord called Joseph Smith to be his instrument to restore the Church of Jesus Christ and his doctrines and covenants for all of God's children. I am grate for the scientific evidences that are coming forth to support and confirm but my testimony is based on the power of the Holy Ghost and the truths of Christ gospel that I strive to live by and teach my family to live by.
The Book of Mormon covers a small group of people. The Native Americans are descendants of many groups of people. There has been 2600 years between the arrival of Lehi and now. That gives time for a lot of people to come to the American Continents.
Considering that there were 8 witnesses to the Golden plates and several witnesses had left the Church. The interesting thing is that even though some of the witnesses left the Church they never retracted their statement that they had seen the Golden plates! A lack of evidence does not make it untrue. Considering that a lot of scientists are atheists I don't put too much faith in what they say about this matter. I'm Catholic BTW.

One point is that the Nephites have been linked to have lived more in north east of North America, not mezzo americas. Stones of Hebrew writing have been found in Ohio and other North Eastern states.

Thing about evidence, even if you had an irrefutable piece of evidence, the people that don't WANT to believe will close their eyes, plug their ears and scream at you. Try telling half of America that by science and genetics, there's only two options for sex, Male or Female. The same people that will refute that, will refute the DNA sequence proving the Jewish heritage of some tribes.

You nailed it brother. There’s no DNA evidence of Book of Mormon people in Mexico or Central America because the Book of Mormon took place in Land of Promise- the United States of America.

It is interesting to see 400 "Dislikes" (as of this post) on scientific evidence. How do you "Dislike" evidence? Seems more like a dislike of a religion despite evidence.

I know the Book of Mormon is true. I am so blessed to be LDS! Wouldn't want to imagine my life without God, Jesus Christ and Their true Gospel in my life. I never heard of Rodney Meldrum until I found this video, my maiden name is Meldrum, I don't see many Meldrums around, though I happen to be friends with some Meldrums who aren't related to me and my family. Very entertaining and interesting commentary on the DNA sequencing of the Jewish people and Native American Indians .I find it fascinating that this evidence has come to light only in the last few years, but that scripture written almost 200 years ago confirms what we are just finding out today. Maybe there is something to this whole Mormon church after all. #alreadyamember

I believe Joseph Smith was a prophet and I know the Book of Mormon is true. In my opinion, there will always be someone, somewhere to disprove the truth. It all goes down to faith. Believing in what you can not see. Personal revelation. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

I agree. No disrespect to those who don't want to believe. But I will live my life striving to be faithful. I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost and the truth it testifies to me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. It is such a blessing in my life!

I still follow this pattern which was taught to me by one of the Elders who visited my house.... If they find something contrary to what the spirit told me, "Sorry that is not true....." I have done what Moroni directed me to do and by the power of the Holy Ghost and it is confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is the word of God! It is axiomatic that the confirmation by The Holy Ghost can only be disaffirmed by one person; The Father of Lies.

maybe the Lamanites that he references in this video had migrated northward, following Moroni to kill him. Doesn't mean that this was the only place that they had existed.
Some of the doctrines that anti-LDS critics say aren't in the Book of Mormon are in fact present, including the premortal existence (Alma 13), the distinction and understanding of the individuality of Father and Son from the beginning (2 Nephi 25:16) and the divine potential of man (3 Nephi 28:10; Mosiah 26:23, 3 Nephi 27:27; Moroni7:48).
there are at least 5 native American tribes who have Hebrew blood in them. these are probably the decendents of the nephritis and lamanites.

This Church is Christian and follow Christ....and by the way, they are not Mormons and practice Mormonism! That is the main point. They believe in the Bible and the prophets therein! The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ.

Nice facts presented. Much of the evidence in this presentation could go in various directions. Until it has been made formally clear, the lands could have been in North, Central, or maybe even South America. Because evidence is so strong in the various perspectives, it is umbalanced to dismiss the main arguments of each.
Science evolves and is not 100% clear for any one theory yet, not even DNA is clear and convincing as more evidence comes up.
Until a place is formally recognized, I respect and am open to any and all theories.
