Something I noticed: When pursuing a girlfriend, sometimes you don't want to frame it romantically. Relationships build over time, and friendships can develop into romance. It's often a misconception (like in fairy tales) that we will have that special someone that stumbles in our life and its love at first sight. I don't fault that perspective, because I like the idea of a hopeless romantic too. However those situations happen seldom, and most relationships usually start off as something more casual. It might feel off-putting to just jump into a conversation and seek romance when you're not even friends just yet. But that's just my perspective on finding a partner. :>
