    Per my community post yesterday, it looks like the additional tire configuration just released in the latest software update (2022.40.4.1). Check out the community post for a picture of the new feature in the latest software.

    Great video with excellent step-by-step details! However I noticed a discrepancy regarding the tire direction. Based on your initial comments, the direction should be counterclockwise for the driver-side tires but in the video it appears they are being mounted clockwise. Could you clarify this?

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks! It’s confusing as it depends on which direction you are looking at the tires from (outside or inside, drivers side or passenger side). If looking from the outside on the drivers side, they should be rotating in a counter clockwise direction. You should see an arrow on the sidewall.

    Those Michelin's are not EV tires per se, so how do you find them for wear and tear in the winter? I was looking to get Winter EV specific tires, but they are $$$ over the Michelin Ice. Cheers

    I have hard time lifting my model Y 2023 berlin version , jack pads wont fit it , 3 times the lift have left falling the car , it did scare the hell out of me! I need a better lift position or material! My lift can handle upto 2500kgs … but is unable to stay steady

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need the jack pads. Is the hole where the jack pad goes smaller on your model Y or does it go in until the o-ring and then not fit it anymore?

    • @bilal5552333731
      @bilal5552333731 ปีที่แล้ว

      First it does not go inside the hole i need to put it through a jack lift , secondly it is bad alogned to it does cause the fall everytime , because it slips during the lift. Now i changed the lift jack but the problem of puting in the hole remains , new Tesla’s are very compliacted

    Have you guys tried to jack the entire front end or entire rear end as to place the vehicle on 4 jackstands? Just wondering how ya did it. Thanks

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nope, there are no front and rear jack points like on a traditional car. To do it safely you need one of those shop jacks that lift the car from all four jack points simultaneously. Having said that this guy has done it at home but did say that his jack points were damaged.

      @@Mangorille Thanks man. But the former drifter in me won’t allow me to “balance” the car in that way. It looks like once the front and rear aero covers are removed there’s a plethora of subframe to safely lift the front or rear (Model Y). That will free up the jack points for the 4 jackstands. Looks like the lower control arms inward pivot points are potential targets as well. Can’t see it too well from other videos but the covers are probably on them. But you can either drive up on some wood and or traditional ramps and access the aero covers. I like using wood or a nice rubber pad on my floor jack. It really depends on the vehicle. Cheers

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vqdriver I agree, that is just asking for something to twist. On a conventional car, I would find a middle back (usually differential) and middle front (usually cross member) jackpoint and use those, of course doesn't apply to Teslas.

    Don’t we need a jack stand , is it secure to lift with a 3T’ hydraulic lift?

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as your lift is in good condition, yes it is more than enough. You are just lifting 1 wheel at a time and the whole car weights about 2 tons. You can use jack stands for a bit of extra safety but I haven’t found the jack stands to be required unless I’m going under the car. Make sure you position the jack stands correctly if you plan to use those given the battery at the bottom.

    Hi there do you know if I can use the the same tpms sensor from my summer tire on the winter tires.. or I need to buy another set from Tesla?

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  ปีที่แล้ว

      You only have one set of rims and plan on swapping rubbers each season? The pressure monitoring sensor is on the inside of the tire so you’d need to get the tire off the rim to reuse.

    • @charhans262
      @charhans262 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh ok thanks. I’ll buy a new set then, Tesla website has 2 kinds. I’ll find out if it matters. I’m planning to purchase wheels & winter tire. I’m currently shopping around, I’ll check the tire shop you suggest for the wheels. Many thanks again :)

      @@charhans262 No problem, my tire shop was able to include the OEM TPMS sensors in the winter tire package. If I recall, they were $600CAD through the tire shop last year when I got them. I see they're a bit cheaper now on the Tesla site.

    chocks (not chock) are nice...is there a reason you didn't engage the emergency brake as step one?
    also, a wire brush to the hub and winter wheel inside surface is often indicated
    disclosure: it took me 45 minutes to figure out that tread on winter tires is directional the first time i put them on...was very lucky to notice the arrow on the 3rd tire...I had no idea

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, best practice to have a chock on each wheel and engage the parking brakes. Since I only jack up one wheel at a time, I find one chock works fine and my surface is fairly level. Never had to use a wire brush to clean the surface but I suppose it depends on your roads and the amount of corrosion present.

      @@JosephTMeiroseIV I have been and will continue to use the pads. There's a whole discussion about this on reddit. Most upvoted comment was the below.
      "If the jack location and cradle shape is correct, it should be fine. Jack pads are necessary if your jack or jack stand has a weird shape. Jack stands are usually U-shaped because jack points are usually pinch welds. The jack points on a Tesla is NOT a pinch weld, so pads are often necessary."
      "My tire shop has pads there for all the Tesla's they work on. Guess each to their own"
