Good review, just one thing to add. When adding the expansion battery to 2000x, the two upper AC plugs on the expansion battery will be covered by the connecting expansion Cable. I have both the Patriots 2000x and expansion battery and use it often, my record running a full size refrigerator was 2 days 7 hrs non-stop. That's with using both 2000x with expansion battery, have three bigger solar generators from a different company and these are great as well. Patriots 2000x has its shortcomings for sure but overall it's a good solar generator.
I bought one in April and been using it at my off grid cabin and if the sun is out I use my generator to charge it and my cabin batteries too the cabin is set up with solar it’s self too it does pretty good it charges pretty fast too
This is a good alternate portable power source. Those other solar installations that are on grid power, will go down when there is no power. A battery backup solar power station is preferable and cheaper. I like this portable power station as it would be hard to carry 5 100lb batteries if I had to leave home.
So did this thing have any type of emp shield device installed for protection? Im in the market for one but it seems pointless to buy one that isnt emp protected. And inergy is months wait time.... or ill just have to build a huge faraday cage.
Thanks for the Great update, helps to see what a generator can do, been looking into getting one, have a good non-solar generator, but fu3l effenciency & the loudness of running it, solar might be an alternative. Prayers for you & yours to be in excellent health from Mt Pocono PA
I bought a solar panel at harbor freight it’s a 100 watt thunderbolt model the power cord was a standard plug 4Patriots will reimburse you for buying a cable that fits your 2000x which is a Anderson type Amazon has a jumper cable that will convert the standard plug to the Anderson plug
I haven’t ran the 5000 btu a/c at my cabin yet but I useually use my gas generator for the heavy amp stuff I did however use it for my iceco vl 60/65 fridge/ freezer it maxed out at 58 watts but it drops out when cold to 36 watts to keep cold and shuts off when it reaches the temps that it is set too the 2000 x ran it for 4 days with the solar panels yes I got another 100 watt panel to boost charging time now I don’t have to spend money on propane I do have a propane fridge but I don’t use it much plus a tv with dvd player and lights plus phones this is just the 2000 x alone imagine how it would do with the exspantion pack !!
Thanks so much for such a a detailed review. I have one of these but haven't had to use it yet. It was so helpful to see it in action. Was that long extension cord extra, because mine didn't come with that.
I'm trying to charge 4 portable battery packs - using USB\USB-C. Two are plugged into USB and two are plugged into USB-C. But only the two plugged into USB are actually charging. Is it not possible to use all 4 portals at once? Can I only use two at a time? That's something I would have liked to seen in your user video. Thank you for your time.
Thank you for the presentation-it was well-prepared and informative. However, I noticed that it doesn’t include data on how the generator performs when multiple items are plugged in simultaneously. I researched the extra battery and can see the benefits it offers, which are promising. That said, could you please provide the data showing how the generator handles multi-use scenarios? Additionally, I agree that hearing from verified customers would be valuable.

These systems pair up well with a diesel heater also. Great for tents, up to 24 hours on a gallon of fuel.

I have multiple east facing bay windows in my home - is it possible to place the solar panels in these windows vs putting them outside for charging?
Absolutely 👍

I think my long extension cord came with the solar panel.
