    Oh so after I recommended 603 I realised I couldn't actually get that here in Japan. So I got the 648 instead. But instead of applying it to the bell side I put it on the shaft near the c-clip. I wasn't sure if it would still hold but it seems to be holding up! It was a lot less stressful since I already had the bell on the shaft and just had to push it up against the c clip

      This was the alternative technique you talked to me about, right? I'll probably adopt your method because it seems a little safer and easier as less time with the compound in gap prior to alignment, the more likely you'll get it positioned properly prior to seizing.

      @@BrandonBeans Yep! I figured i didnt have much to lose if it didnt work out (i.e. if the compound didnt make it into the space between the shaft and the bell). But i also thought that if i put it on the bell, most of it might get wiped off by the time the bell gets to the seating position. My main concern was if i got stuck on the first c clip groove somehow! Btw I did this on an 0603 motor... so damn small haha

    I've had this exact problem with my Betafpv 1103 motors, didn't know Happymodel motors had this same exact problem. Glad to now know how to repair my motors rather than buying a whole new set of motors.

      @orechris21 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On those motors you can use screws to secure the props.

    You are the MAN. I could not figure out what was wrong to save my life. I was day away from ordering new motors thinking they were broken, so thank you for taking the time to post this. Helped me so much

      For sure bud. A new tip is that you can simply use thin CA to do the same thing as the loctite I used. It's not quite as strong but it will hold enough to stop slip until you crash them hard or break em free ripping off props.

    • @BrandonBeans
      @BrandonBeans  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You gotta order it online, nobody sells it in the stores near me. Thin cyanoacrylate will also work in a pinch but can get messy

    • @inzomenia
      @inzomenia 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BrandonBeans They actually sell it locally here in Norway, though in special stores.

      @@BrandonBeans do you have any tips for the HM 702's seems like the tech with Loctite really doesnt work.
      The shafts are somewhat "knurled" like a tiny bit of the shaft has tiny edges, to make it more "grippy".

    • @BrandonBeans
      @BrandonBeans  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@inzomenia try thin CA glue. Not as nice since it will leave residue on the shaft and magnets but it scrapes off

    @Brandon Beans Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and share the info. Some of the stock RS0802 20000kv motors on Mob7 ELRS and HD started slipping up and down 1 - 2 mm. One of them is like pushing a button. Hope this fixes my issue :)

    • @BrandonBeans
      @BrandonBeans  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try thin super glue if you have it. I will use that too if it's closer to me on the bench 😜 apply with a toothpick, less is more as it can cure on the shaft requiring some post curing cleanup. And you're welcome!

    • @BrandonBeans

      They're pretty weak for prop changes. Cut the props off, it saves a lot of trouble.

    hey, my drone was in a crash, fortunately, everything was fine except one motor opened up. the washers that you were saying(1 thick and 1 thin) got lost but I did found the clip that goes underneath those washers. so when I flew my drone again the drone was unbalanced and exactly at that motor. can you help me, as what todo or where can i find those washers if available? thanks

  • @FPV_Cam

    Have you ever tried this with whoop 802 or 702 motors? I assume it would be a similar process, got a couple motors with loose shafts

    • @BrandonBeans
      @BrandonBeans  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it works the same but now I will often use thin cyanoacrylate (super glue)and carefully clean up any excess that might harden on the shaft. The advantage of the loctite green binding compound stuff is it only cures on the mating surfaces.

    Another idea is to use prop with screw and screw it to the bell.

    • @BrandonBeans
      @BrandonBeans  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah true, but that's more weight. Small motors like this are better as light as possible.

    Are you sure loctite works, I just bought 638, but some guy on the fpv reddit said and idk if he's credit able, but he said "Don't use Loctite on props. They will explode in mid-air, or disintegrate before you get to use them. If it comes into contact with that frame, the frame will disintegrate as well." So he might be confused on where I'm putting it I'm thinking, would a certain super glue also work, I'm also down to just use the loctite I bought, lmk ur a legend if you respond on this 3 year old video thanks

    • @BrandonBeans

    when my shaft broke in a crash. I had to use props with screws for it. So its a reusable motor by the way. .T o remove those push on props you have to invent a puller so tat you don't stress the rear c clip. from popping out

    • @BrandonBeans
      @BrandonBeans  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kind of like a tiny gear-puller. I wonder if someone makes one already, but for gears.
      Edit: about the screws, normally I'm against them, but that's cool you could salvage the bell at least. They sell new ones at racedayquads

      Hard to say, last time I had bad luck with old loctite and the thin super glue worked. It's thin enough that it doesn't get in the way of the magnets and the stator if you make a small mess
