Two boss battles back-to-back... the developers really went all-out trying to make the final chapter as challenging as possible. I hated it on my first playthrough because I was completely unprepared and already got my ass kicked by Grodus a couple dozen times, but once I learned how to do it, it became SO satisfying.
Not to me, I make sure I have enough Star points after beating Grodus before facing Bowser and Kammy Koopa. I guess you can say that I outsmarted the game.
@@jose_mando1293 Nintendo themselves actually recommended in the strategy guide that you enter the Grodus battle with 80 Star Points so you can level up before Bowser. Because there is no rest in between.
Yo but what the hell tho this track is absolutely crazy? The use of amen break here is so well used to pace the composition instead of just relying on it. It's so good.
it just goes with the battle no joke. This battle is one of the most difficult ones in the game if you have no idea what to do and it came right after Grodus it's a battle with so much at stake.
I adore the remake’s more rock-oriented take of this song so much, but the ONLY con it has is that they removed the Amen Break! Kinda! It’s done on actual drums but it doesn’t have that same chaotic flare, y’know?

The battle was absolutely made to wreck you up the first time lol. You had to deal first and adapt to a boss that was hyper defensive and magic-based and then you had to deal with a physical attacker supported with ANOTHER magic boss that made Bowser a menace.
Unless you're close to 100 exp points, which is super unlikely on a blind first run, Bowser and Kammy will really stomp you after Grodus gave you a hard time. The fact that you likely never thought Bowser and Kammy were even in the Palace of Shadows at that point made it worse.

What is more astonishing is that if you mangaged to use glitch or cheats to go back to gloomtail's room after the end game, you do find a large crack in the secret room accessible by bomb. I swear Nintendo games are at fault for me being INFATUATED with Drum and Bass and Breakcore. I never even friggin noticed. That and Bomberman hero, which theoretically is a Konami game so eeeh. BADASS SONG.

okay so I absolutely hate to do the uhm ackshully thing, but this is 100% not breakcore, which is _defined_ by the amen break and it being absurdly fast, distorted, and chopped up. like, breakcore scares off suburban dads
I have mixed opinions The remake is almost an all around improvement and even adds an additional breakdown at the end of the song But 0:30 just sounds so much more sinister in the original. Verdict: I am making a separate save file dedicated to re fighting Grodus and Bowser so that I can switch back and forth between the nostalgia badge and the remake theme.
