Similar pathway to me albeit at a little quicker! Great self reflection and useful tips for those wanting to follow. I put my early promo down to a huge bit of luck and timing as opportunities opened up through resignations but like you I was doing the role already for a lot of clients. And like you the being good at the day job needs to be assumed as a given, extra curricular stuff gets you to edge and even the small stuff is recognised by people more senior (training, new software leadership, onboarding, charity days etc) From a fellow bham audit mgr
