  • OPPO Enco Air3 Pro vs OPPO Enco Air2 Pro | Best Earbuds Under 5k ?
    The OPPO Enco Air3 Pro & OPPO Enco Air2 Pro aren’t exactly worlds apart. They’ve got a lot of similarities and it makes you wonder if OPPO is going to discontinue the OPPO Enco Air2 Pro. I certainly hope they don’t because its still super value for money at what its being sold for. The OPPO Enco Air3 Pro is more of a small evolution over the OPPO Enco Air2 Pro which is a classic example of demising returns but it all boils down to personal preference.

      I haven't reviewed many sports specific earphones for running. The last one was the Yamaha TW-ES5A, which I quite liked but feel it doesn't have enough kick in the bass to motivate someone too much if they like heavy bass. It's more natural sounding, which I personally prefer. But coming back to what you've asked about, I reviewed the Soundcore Life Dot 2 NC, which was a great sounding set of earphones, and holds very securely for running, too. I'm not too sure if it's still available and what rate it's being sold for, but feel free to have a look at my review on it if you'd like to.
      Most regular TWS earphones may not stay in the ear for running, this does depend a lot of individual ear shapes and sizes, so having a sports earphone with winglets usually ensures better holding and security of the bid to prevent it from falling out of the ear.

    Paul u r a life saver. I was a bit confused if I should get 2 pro or 3 pro. I am a bit sensitive to higher frequency and I have scene hints from other reviews out there that air 3 pro has a bit sharper highs. Your review just nailed it. I am not very particular about ldac and I want battery life over high res audio. So i guess I can save a bit of cash if I opt for 2 pro and will buy a case with the saved cash. 😜 Appreciate the good work!!

      I just hope you don't feel outdated and develop a sense of inferiority complex overtime because you're gonna miss many upgraded features like 49 Db ANC, 47 ms gaming, alive audio, Blutooth 5.3, golden sound etc. Which Realme buds air 5 will also bring soon to compete under the 5k segment. They all seem like an ever so slight upgrade but it all matters to make your experience so much more fluid and enjoyable.✌️

      @@thonwalojemu9430 I don't game and I just want it for home use. So a decent anc would suffice for me. My priority was good sound quality on a budget and like every other review is saying pro 3 is just a tiny bit better at it than pro 2. Funny part is that pro 3 is advertised saying it's frequency range is till 40khz. Humans cannot hear above 20khz, so that's that.

    Hi Paul, thanks for your detailed review. I borrow airpods pro from my friend and tested with my android phone. The ANC, soundstage was awesome and I felt I am sitting in middle of the big theater. I could feel out of the world experience in all the songs I heard. Do we have any such tws around the budget of 10k or even low.

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The airpods are why this market has picked up. They're great at what they do, and it's difficult to emulate that same experience with anything below a 10k budget. I've heard Sony XM4 buds that have their own largeness in sound, but they are also expensive. Apple, with their R&D, tech know how and marketing experience know exactly what to do and how to do it, which is why they're trend setters. They have their own charm really. You may not find anything like it, despite many people claiming every new set of earphones to be the new "airpod killer".

    *I am always immensely enamored by the kind of knowledge you spread in terms of sound and music...*
    Just Woooohoo !!! And Thank you a million times for being around.🙏
    THIS COMPARISON WAS VERY MUCH NEEDED *ESPECIALLY FROM YOU* SINCE I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DONE THE OPPO Enco Air2 pro REALLY WELL IN THE PAST...
    So Thanks for yet another awesome video and coincidentally I am watching this on the Oppo Enco Air2 pro which tho is now being used permanently by my wife...
    *I purposely borrowed* the same from her to rebuild my old sound relationship with Oppo.
    *EVEN THO FOR JUST THIS VIDEO*
    Not sure about other viewers but the *CALL QUALITY OF THE ANCESTOR was much refined than the Air3Pro...*
    (Maybe my Personal opinion....for that moment of the Video , this is what I felt.)
    I very much thought that I might at one time upgrade from Oppo Enco Air2 Pro to Air3 Pro but considering my medical issue of high frequency sound loss in 1 ear, I thought I should not go for it.
    40K HZ and LDAC *might not be too good for my partly damaged inner right ear* even at 40% volume.
    Meanwhile...(
    I am still stuck up ( and happily content) with OnePlus Nord CE2 ( Half in ear..) and that is *my present ongoing Sob story...* 😷
    With my son borrowing my favourite ONEPLUS Buds Z2 to use with his iPhone 14 Max Pro and surprisingly he is still quite satisfied with those at the moment, hence saving me a lot of *stress of spending ₹20,000* extra had he gone for the Apple Earpods Pro or whatever they are named and cost 25K+. Hi there! Great video, really in-depth!
    My question is about the OPPO Enco Air2 Pro. I presume they have proximity sensors? As in, if you take one or both of the buds out of your ear, the music/video or whatever will automatically pause since it detects that it is no longer in your ear?
    If this is the case, is there a way to deactivate it in the mobile software?
    The reason I ask is I have this problem with the OnePlus buds I currently have - they have a super-sensitive sensor which continually pauses the audio, even though they are in my ears without moving

    • @PaulsPOV

    Hey Paul,
    Hope you're doing well! I'm in a bit of a dilemma and could really use your input. I'm looking to buy a pair of earbuds with a budget of Rs 4000. My main concern is the lifespan of the earbuds. I want to make sure I'm investing in something that will last. If you have any recommendations or insights on brands or models that are known for their durability, I'd really appreciate your advice.

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you're very particular about detail and clarity in your music, the Air3 Pro does the best of the lot when it's using the LDAC Codec. While on AAC, the Tune Beam and it are kind of similar. I haven't done any proper A-B testing to know for certain yet. But if you don't plan on using LDAC and battery life happens to be important to you, the Tune Beam knocks the ball out of the park here. Forget about the 230NC it's been known to have some flaws.
      I do have a comparison between the Tune Beam and 230NC. Feel free to give it a watch if you'd like to.

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I haven't reviewed many neck bands, and the last one I did I quite liked, but it's more of a premium one. Don't expect ANC or ENC to reduce voices close to you. They focus more on droning noises than sudden and variating sounds like voices and honking.
      If you do have the budget for the Yamaha EP-E70A, I'd highly recommend it. It's a great all-rounder. But if your budget is within 5K, the Air3 Pro is great, but I'm a bit disappointed with its call quality. If you can stretch for the JBL Tune Beam, it's a great set to own.

These cut noises really well without causing pressure in the ear or causing nausea. I do like what JBL has done with the Tune Beam, it's not as aggressive an ANC as these other earphones but does well, again, without causing pressure or nausea.

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LDAC will be richer in detail compared to using the SBC & AAC codec for sure, but it'll cap you at 990kbps. If your source files sit at 800-990kbps, you'll be fine. If some of your files are 3-5mbps like some of mine are, your bottle neck will be the codec. Hi-Res, I'll always prefer using wired earphones or headphones for this very reason.

      LDAC caps at 990 for bit rate. So your files will play, but it'll be capped at this bit rate. The same goes if you use a Hi-Res file and play back via AAC or SBC. Your app will read the Hi-Res audio, but the packets your phone sends will have a bit rate as high as whatever codec it is you're transmitting.

      Realme Buds Air3 I wouldn't recommend at all if you're planning on making any calls. It was a little too metallic sounding for me, I prefer the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro on a sound front over it any day. The Air3 Pro is a nice set to own, but expect diminishing returns from it compared to the Air2 Pro. If you're particular about wanting better detail in your audio, the LDAC codec makes a difference, but at the cost of halving the battery life when used. Consider looking at the JBL Tune Beam if you have that kind of budget. It's a good all-rounder with terrific battery life.

Call wise, the Air2 Pro does seem to be better with calls, which is surprising. I've gone into detail about how different the Air2 Pro and Air3 Pro sound, so it should give you an idea about which ones sound profile you'd prefer. I'd say the Air2 Pro is a very safe investment. The Air2 Pro has always been ahead of any other earphones I've compared it to, and to my surprise, on a call front, it does perform better than the Air3 Pro, too. If call quality is your priority, the Air2 Pro is the one to go for. It very clearly performs better than the Air3 Pro here.

    Hi Paul, I am using oppo enco x2 from last 1.8 years. the problem is the battery has degraded. Dont want to spend 10k this time. I want to purchase budget tws. Already bought oneplus z2 in this sale. I don't like z2 because heavy bass sound. So I gave it to my brother. Now I want to buy tws under 5k-6k. Can you suggest one tws . Which one is better among oppo enco air 2 pro and oppo enco air 3 pro ? Or any other suggestions.. My priority is sound quality and call clarity..

      @PaulsPOV  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tricky place to be in because I've heard the X2 is something else compared to a lot of earphones in the market. Sadly, I haven't had the chance to test a set yet.
      The Air3 Pro is richer in sound. Not great with calls. The Air2 Pro is superior with calls but not much of a slouch when it comes to its sound. It's warmer sounding. Not as detailed, but still enjoyable. Something tell me, neither will sound anywhere as good as your X2 though. Ever considered getting into the affordable IEM game?

    does the mic of air 3 pro work well with apps such as whatsapp, teams and Google meet? Have u seen any redmi users complain about it in this regard..
    Also I watched ur full review of air 3 pro.. i noticed that mic quality seemed terrible when anc is set to max... so which mode do u think would be the most optimal for calling..

      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Expect the mic to work as it did on the call demo. Usually most earphones work best with carrying your voice over when there is no load on the ENC. So having the ANC off usually is the best.

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the golden sound should compensate for the frequencies you have a lower sensitivity with. It'll boost those frequencies for you. You'll have to do the listening test in a quiet environment, so take your time with it. It's best not to rush the process. Don't expect it to make you feel like your hearing has been restored. It just boosts those specific ranges, so its tuning will change a bit compared to how it sounds right out of the box.

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I avoid using the rating system for many reasons, but the Alive Audio works well. I prefer it to what some earphones do with Atmos. Oppo has done a good job with it, and I wouldn't say it's a gimmick. The golden sound is just a hearing test that boosts frequencies in your music, which you may have lost. It works, but I didn't like how it sounded. The Air3 Pro is a nice buy and a good evolution over the Air2 Pro if sound is your priority.

      If you have the budget for the Air3 Pro, it makes sense to go for it. It's marginally better than the Air2 Pro on a sound front. It had a lot more features, too. Comfort wise, I haven't had an issue with the Air3 Pro. The Air2 Pro has caused discomfort, which leads to pain.
      There's no real way of measuring your ear/concha by yourself. If you've used larger earphones and have experienced discomfort, the Air2 Pro will be uncomfortable to use. The Air3 Pro is a bit smaller than it's predecessor but again, if you have small ears, there is a possibility of it causing discomfort.

    Paul, I tried Oppo enco Air 3 Pro from a friend of mine, and I loved it. (except the glossy finish and the lack of darker colour options) I m looking forward to purchase one for myself. But, I am torn between Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro and JBL Tune Beam.
    Purpose: Watching movies, making phone calls; rather balanced bass is my preference (that's why I can't go with Boat). I do tend to wear earphones longer, as I do some academic works, to cut off distractions (I am using Tribit Quietplus 72 headphones now).JBL live Pro 2 was one of my other preference. However, the price is way beyong my budget. Which one would you suggest? if not these other options to explore.
    NB: I have a moderate hearing loss. Hence, I do care about my ears. Having seen most of your consumer earphones reveiws, I felt, you seemed to understand hearing and sensitivity, than just review products. That's why I thought of asking you. Thank you

    • @PaulsPOV
      @PaulsPOV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      If you've managed to get your hands on the Air3 Pro and liked it, that's all the matters, really. You should trust your ears more than mine! The fact that you're looking forward to owning it means it's connected with you to a certain extent, and that to me is the ultimate audio nirvana.
      Coming back to the other earphones, the JBL Tune Beam is good fun to listen to and has terrific battery life. It doesn't have Hi-Res audio but maintains good detail for what it's worth. It can be a little more exaggerated in the bass, but the oppo is a little more natural sounding here, but I'd have to do some A-B testing to know for sure.
      Coming to your hearing, the oppo might be able to benefit you with the "Golden Sound" feature. It'll ask you to follow some commands in a quiet space to do its own hearing test and will boost the signals you've lost. It should benefit you when it comes to your listening experience. Hearing sensitivity wise, if you are listening to earphones above 60-80% casually, your sensitivity is most likely shot, but I'd still recommend listening to any earphones below 50% to avoid any further damage/loss. Sadly, there's no way to reverse this like you can with eye glasses.
      Anyway, I'd say go for the Air3 Pro because the golden sound will help + you've enjoyed them!
      I hope this helps you, Edwin.
