    Hi. The way a camera works is to make the white balance measurement whenever you push the shutter. I can imagine that the Z1 does it from the center of the lens then applies this white balance measurement to the full 360 photo. You could try to turn the lens of the Z1 away from hot lights (the ones casting the yellow light into your photo in your case the lampshade in front of the laundry). I don't have a Z1 so I am not talking out of experience of the camera but general photography rules

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've found that closing the door behind me also helps, so that we don't have cool light and warm light coming from different sources, but bright windows can still throw it all off...the best thing is to just remove any warm lights by turning them off, camera lens position seems to have a minimal effect with the auto white balance when in this app

    Hey everybody! One big note here and that is only floor plans ordered before April 11th will be processed in their queue, they are currently not taking any more photographers into the floor plan beta and they are not processing anymore after April 11th for a handful of weeks. I will be posting another video soon that walks through the latest app update, but sorry for anyone who is coming here and hoping to use the tours for floor plans. Since the wait had skyrocket to 2 weeks they had to temporarily take down the ability to submit new floor plans. Will keep you posted! Remember to like/subscribe to get more updates from us!

    Thank you for sharing this video. I had the same problem with white balance and there is an adjustment for it in the Theta Z1 phone app. Also worth looking into is the dual fisheye plugin. You can create RAW files and processed HDR files with this plugin. I am experiementing with it now. - Sharky

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did that update fix it in the Zillow app? I am curious, because my understanding was that even if you set your own settings in the Z1 on manual, that the Zillow app uses its defaults. I have downloaded the RAW files and done HDR, but whatever the plugin is if it makes it easier that's great. Apparently Planix by iGuide which is shipping soon also has optimized the Z1 for HDR - pretty exciting stuff! Keep us posted!

    Hey everyone - big update as of today it’s taking 6+ days for floor plans to be returned! If you have an urgent floor plan need, this is not the way to go. I have had to go and redo floor plans twice for people with Matterport because of client’s urgent needs. Please allow AMPLE time if you need a floor plan urgently (aka about a week)!

    Thanks for sharing... Zillow doesn't make it easy to find that qr code. My tips for zillow 3D home tours:
    1: Use a real tripod ( shows a little in shots when you look straight down but makes it much easier to level. Also won't fall over nearly as easy.
    2: I shoot interior around the 4 foot level... I find this looks better.
    3: I take shots from points in the rooms where the room looks great ( same positions and composition as the mls photos ) .
    4: I like to get shots around the house, yard, patio, garage, driveway, path to beach, beach, etc.
    5: Use a onewheel for properties with large grounds.
    6: To help level the camera; align the edge of the camera with a nearby vertical line, door, corner.

    Great video, very informative. I'm new with the Zillow tours. I have only worked with Matterport Pro2. Question. After tour is completed and back from processing, is it ok to delete the scans from my iPad/iPhone that I created the scans? Thanks! I just subscribed.

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! If you are in settings on the phone or tablet you’re going to want to check settings! If you don’t select to save the panos to the phone they will only be in the app and can’t be extracted! You’ll need to select to save them to the phone in settings to have 360‘s…
      Of course you can delete the panos and the tour from the app without deleting the tour in the cloud but since there is 1) no way to reinstall to phone from cloud don’t delete right away and 2) if you need to go back you can now add or replace a pano if something goes awry. I would not delete unless you want to really make space

      Yes it's a big problem! Make sure you don't wander too far off (like more than 10 feet) and also you can use the self-timer to be able to walk further away - set it for 5 seconds and then you won't disconnect during capture.

      For construction we use the Cubicasa and their GLA floorplans. I think the GLA report the best and you can edit and redraw measurements if you need to! Matterport can be good too, just depends on your needs & how accurate it is l. Cubicasa gives an SVG file and so we can use that to speed up drafting, always need to measure against actuals but it’s a great shortcut

    Great post! Super informative! 👏 . New to Real State photography. regarding the 360 tours... where I get confused is 1- Once the app gets the files ready... that project exist on the Zillow site correct? Now... can I download that file/project to myself and then sent the file/project as a link to my client... lets say through "Spiro" or using Dropbox or Google drive? Or the client (realtor) MUST use the Zillow app... and download it from there...? In other words any person within the US that has the free app of Zillow can "download/watch the file/project"? 2- When it comes to Matterport, (process wise & steps to capture files/pics), is the same, and can be done using the same cameras (Ricoh/ 360 rs , etc...), when it comes to delivering the file/project is the same as with Zillow? (following the same requirements than Zillow app...?). Finally #3- Regardless of which app or camera: how many positions within a room to get good coverage? 🤔 in big rooms/spaces you suggest: each side of space plus center...? Thank you and I am sorry for the long question.... 🙏 cheers! :)

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hi there! welcome to the channel. Hope you subscribed to get more content in the future too. Per your questions, 1) the files yes they can be downloaded if you have the setting in the app for it to download a copy to your camera - that's manual (Z1 at least). The whole tour itself from Zillow is always and only available as a link - so cloud hosted, but if you want to use the files for something else and you've changed settings to save them to your device, you can use the panos for something else entirely and make your own tour with another platform like Kuula or SeekBeak, etc. Best practice is to not have too many panos for a Zillow tour, it gets too cluttered. I recommend one in the door and one in the center or opposite corner, and then just the minimum number to have "line of sight" navigation between rooms. Hope this helps and good luck!

      @@HopscotchInteractive Thank you for your message! Very much appreciated So once I have the link from 'zillow" that link can be send to my client either as a "link on an email" or I can use a 'hub" like let's say 'Spiro" uploaded it there and my client can see it..? But the client or person receiving the link or wanting to watch it, has to use the Zillow App correct? In other words anyone can watch it since the Zillow app is free.. they just have to register, (open an account). Thanks again! 🙏

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wildpatagoniafilms16 they don't need to have the app to view the link, that is not the same thing actually. The listing will always look better in the Zillow App (because the tour will be accessible right from the listing in the scroll), but the Zillow 3D Home Tours app is just for making the tours, and that is not for viewing. The link you get from inside the 3D Home Tours dashboard where you edit is the thing to share, and it will work on any browser and as a link to share with Spiro or any other platform. Hope this helps.

    Aren’t Zillow floorplans exclusive to Zillow? Do you end up having to produce separate matter port floor plans for agents who want to post floorplans on the MLS and other online locations?

    • @HopscotchInteractive

      They are integrated into the Zillow app seamlessly, so they are exclusive only in that regard. You are emailed unbranded floor plans and can use them anywhere. Check out my Instagram @hopscotchinteractive for a couple of examples. They are much simpler than the Matterport floor plans and less accurate in terms of square footage, because it’s inferred from the QR code but isn’t scanned, but the drawing is surprisingly accurate and a good simple alternative. question , when you sign into the zillow capture app and finish the 3d job were does the to go , how do you get it on your clients (other) agents listing , also how long does the tour stay active for and dooes it stay on YOUR zillow account ? that you shot it on ?

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you finish the job, depending on the settings you have, the images are either uploaded to the app or also stored locally (but not as a tour), then you'll get a notification in about 15 minutes that it's ready for viewing or editing. You need to log-in to the Zillow 3D Home Dashboard and then edit the tour, and when it's ready to go live then publish it. The tour always shows up on the account of the person who shot it, so it will give you the photographer credit, but it will be associated with the correct tour as soon as it's listed. If it isn't you will need to email customer service and have them manually associate it. That email is 3D home@zillowgroup.com. It stays up as long as the listing is up, as soon as it's no longer live, the tour is no longer visible. But if you don't want someone publishing your tour again down the road if it sells again, I highly recommend saving the property and/or archiving the tours once the property is sold. I have had properties get sold again, and had another agent try to use my tour, so I archived it immediately.

      @HopscotchInteractive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @hardrockpoker I am pretty sure it's separate, but I'm not an agent, so I don't see that side of the platform. When we create the tours, we have a photographer profile and then go into the Zillow 3D Home Dashboard. I guess nothing is to stop someone from creating a home tour, but you can't associate it with a listing if that house is not for sale, and even still, it would notify everyone who is connected to that listing (realtor, etc.) if someone tried to add a tour that was incorrectly associated, so I think it's unlikely that it will happen. Tours that are created, but not published can still be shared, but they are unassociated.

    I'm a bit confused by Zillow's 3D Home Tours- how does a Zillow site user even access a 3D Tour of a listing? After watching your videos I bought a Ricoh Theta camera in order to create Zillow 3D Home tours for my realtor clients as an add on to my existing photo/video marketing packages. However, I think it's going to be a hard sell because the Zillow site doesn't make it easy for site users to find and use the 3D Home tour. At the moment I'm on Zillow and when I click on homes that have a "3D Tour'' label, there is no option on the subsequent listing page to start the 3D tour. If Zillow is pushing these 3D tours so hard, shouldn't they make it easy for users to start the tour? I recently wrote Zillow's 3D Home Support team an email to ask voice my concern about the bad user experience on the site. Have your clients found that the Zillow 3D Home Tours have helped to boost their listings? Thanks in advance for your response! I'm a huge fan of your channel, btw!

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Eric! The 3D Home Tour is best experienced in their app, because it’s embedded into the listing and the panos swivel as you scroll (only a feature possible with their tours), and the tab to view tour is right at the top. The hot tip is to make sure you are using the floor plans as well because then those are also embedded and it’s the best user experience. We believe these have helped every listing reach a bigger audience with immersive content. I have lots of screen shots showing that the homes with the 3D tours are predicted to sell faster than others in the area. On desktop the tour is also accessible via the map and I believe from the listing page itself. If you’re not sure of the value or confident of it yet, maybe offer it at an introductory price and then see how those listings go. I used to offer them for like $50-$75, when we didn’t know how valuable they were and now we routinely charge $200-$300 for a tour. Even agents that absolutely hate Zillow have switched!

      Hi my friend! Is it that you can’t get the app to work? What are you using for a camera? Have you checked the Zillow 3D Home Tour webpage to see if you’ve got a compatible android device? I don’t know off the top of my head since I use iOS but it’s a great question!

      Unfortunately no, it's not compatible with the Insta360 cameras, just the Ricoh's...Sc2, V, Z1, X (or mobile)

      Yes just for the US, but the app should still work? Have you tried it and then not assigned it to a property?

      thanks for the feedback, we shot this during the early pandemic so masks were required for everyone in California at the time indoors/outdoors - but we will do an updated video eventually - thanks for bearing through it!
