      We will look into that.
The poultry grit is in place to substitute the gravel. I do need to price out other options. Right now we are paying $15 for a 50 lb bag. I’m sure I’ll find a way to source our own where the only cost is labor.
Thank you as always for watching and for the suggestions. Keep them coming 😁
      God bless you as well.

Our watermelon aren’t quite done but we may have to give them some. Hopefully in a couple more weeks.
Thank you for the idea 😁

Here in the tropics, chickens are kept free ranging all the time, most people don't even have a coop. I built a hurricane proof coop because I lost most of my chickens during hurricane Maria, I call it the chicken bunker, I'm building a run just incase they need to be cooped up the day before a storm. My chickens free range a food forest, so they eat banana, mango, coconut, starfruit ect.

It’s a mixture of free range and runs where we are at. If we let them free range we would probably lose a chicken every couple of weeks. For some reason the predator population is extremely high right where we are at. I have coyotes on trail cam mid afternoon 100 yards from the house. Fox, etc.
I put a trail cam up by the coop and was getting raccoons on camera every night. So the run acts as the first defense and then they have to breach the coop which I don’t think they can.
Love hearing how things are done in other parts of the country though, thanks for sharing.

@doubleahomestead7794 mongoose and hawks are the only 2 predators I worry about around here.
