So, I use pretty much the same thing for my chicken water. I use a concrete mixing tray instead of a feed bowl. I holds more water, but small birds can get in it and drown. Also, drill a hole in the lid big enough to stick your garden hose in. That way you don't have to take the lid off to fill it.
It is also helpful to either hang the feed and water buckets, or raise them up on a block slightly. That keeps the chickens from messing in the food and water, as chickens do.
I knew exactly where you got the idea from when I saw the drip pans. The have some really good info on their channel been subbed to them for about 4 years or so. Thanks again sir.
You might already know this, but I think if you roll on black paint to the surrounding enclosure. That metal wire will become less visible and more appealing to the eye. Cool stuff though! Love the videos
I’ve been using buckets with those “Amazon” water nipples for water, and their feeder holes (can’t remember what they are called) for the last few years without any problems, but the pricing and availability has gone crazy. I need some more feeders and water buckets, and this looks like a good (and cheaper) route to take. Great video! Thank you for sharing.
I have allot of respect for you brother I have been supporting you for years and have gained plenty of extra knowledge appreciate it respect 🙏 from Detroit city 💯
Find somebody to get fresh eggs from, feed him those for a couple of weeks, then swap back to the cheapest store bought eggs you can find. Believe me he'll notice, unless there is something wrong with his taste buds...
One observation , on the "feed" set up arent the side holes big enough for a rat/mouse to get through into all that lovely food?? Rats/mice, a right pain for us Chicken owners.

Great video I really like when you give us hands on videos of things we can do to be more self sufficient. Thanks!

Put a funnel in the bottom of the feeder to help push the feed towards the holes.
I already knew how to do that but it's still fun to watch...thanks! Hope you're doing well 😁

When using the big hole saw start the pilot bit then reverse the drill to drill big hole
This would make a good feeder & water trough for general wildlife..

Geesh Costco really does sell everything. I didn't know they offered chickens. What breed did you decide to go with?
They'll stand on top of the bucket and poop in the feed and water....ask me how i know

@rjstewart just don't get roosters, hens don't make myluch noise. If somebody say something, they're my pets, they identify as dogs.
