I appreciate that you're not a douche bag like others that offer videos of the same procedure. I'll be using your video when I do my replacement. Thanks dude.
You have done us all a great service with this video. Would you be able to post a link where you get the solenoid and the part number? I want to make sure I get the right one
Great video I know you mentioned you got the new solenoids on Amazon can you help me out with a link please. Also do you recommend new gasket and o rings or will using existing okay thanks
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367great I did the job all is working good but I’m now scanning the generic p0700 code no other back up codes the scan tool won’t clear it any suggestions? Thanks
Great video, I have a 2013 crosstrek with the same codes. I am going to attempt this at home without purchasing the entire valve body. I have one important question, how much total cvt fluid needs to go back in other than dumping 1/2 quart inside valve body case.? Thank you awesome video!!!
I put a half a cord in it. I doubt I use that much or that much comes out. So 1/2 a quart should cover you. For some reason I can’t reply.make a new comment I can.
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367 Thank you for the help! so I tore this apart last night and ohmed the new solenoid which comes in at 12.5. the old one reads 13. i started thinking further and realized my code is p2764 so i started chasing the wires and the white wire reading like 8 ohms goes to the other side of the valve body. I guess my question is will replacing the solenoid in your video have any effect with the p2764 code? Or do I need to order a new complete valve body? Thank You Again!!!
Thanks for the video. Unfortunately my issue wasn’t fixed (it seems like my issue is probably the torque converter) but at least I was able to rule out the solenoid without spending the money on a full valve body.
Based on the symptoms, I knew it was a 50/50 shot before I started. It just made more sense to try the solenoid fix first since it’s way cheaper than a torque converter.
@doingstuffwithdylan4367 no, i didn't pull the pan since it's supposed to only have 15,000 miles on it. I did notice it had the newer module on it and I swaped the one off my old cvt on it. Still nothing. My buddy had his snap on scan tool on it and it was communicating. All the eyesight and the other warning lights are coming up as well. I don't believe there's anything that could get damaged while bolting this together. If the solenoids check out good I'm just going to pull it back out and scratch my head some more
Absolutely awesome video, I'm sure you'll save me a lot of money. Make sure to put the donate "$ Thanks" button on your future videos where you're saving people money, I'm sure we'd be happy to throw you some. With that being said, I'm now sourcing the solenoid. I see a lot of people on forums saying that the Amazon solenoids failed soon after replacement. Do you think this is because the ohms were incorrect and they did not check? I found a seller on Ebay that claims OEM with good reviews I think I'll try.
Thank you so much for making this video! My 2014 outback threw this code today and I wanted to understand how to fix the issue so that I can have an educated conversation with my mechanic

No problem I hope it is helpful
Thanks so much for your expertise on valves body replacement
No problem thanks for leaving a comment

It kind of all depends on the code if you look through the comments, there is a link above

thanks for a great video. How do I test my solenoid from Amazon before I install as you mentioned?
Use an ohm meter and check the resistance
Between 13 and 15

I’d say it fixes it about 60% of the time
Sorry it didn’t work out

Is it ok to drive it after valve body swap or does the transmission need a "relearn"? Thanks
Drive it. Clear the codes obviously!
I got a new low mile cvt, it acts like its in neutralin every gear. Put new oem fluid in everything. Still nothing. Do you think its a solenoid?
Not sure did u check filter.

We have had a couple fail but they normally fix it!
This will get a lot of views. It's a common problem with Subaru's.
Thanks man. I sure hope so!!

For the TR690, are the connectors for checking the solenoids also located in roughly the same location?
I think so. Not positive though
So I have the P0700 and a P2762 I might need a Amazon links to parts
Not sure what solenoid 762 sets for sorry there is a link for the tcc in the comments

I dont own a slide hammer and would prefer not to buy one, any other tips to remove the top piece?
Glad u got it w a pet bar
I've just had a quote from a mechanic in Australia to change mine for $2400aud. Does that sound correct? It sounds very expensive to me.
They cost 900 usd just for the valve body.
@@doingstuffwithdylan4367 So you can't just replace the solenoid itself?
I was quoted $2300 usd for the CVT valve body replacement a week ago.
I got my 2016 Subaru Liberty done at a auto transmission specialist at Blacktown $3k. All good
@@robertlagan8441 Nice, mine ended up being $2200. All good so far. Each Solenoid was $500. I needed 2.
Used a mini crobar and got it off in about 2 seconds 😂
