Talisker 10 was the first bottle that I bought as a direct result of things I learned watching The Whiskey Vault. Thank you, sir. (Rex too) It's still one of the best in my collection. Also a fan of TX music.

I just got into Scotch very recently. My first was Macallan 15 double cask, and I loved it. Then I had some Chivas Regal 12 which I thought was okay until later that day I had some Glenlivet 12, which was much better. Today I picked up a bottle of the Talisker 10. Taking it on a camping trip this weekend.
I love all of your reviews but this one may be my favorite. I discovered talisker 10 a year and a 1/2 ago and it was specifically because of reviews mainly yours. I think you described it perfectly and I really enjoy that whiskey tremendously. Prices has gone up but it is one of the best whiskeys I can find under the $100 range. Thanks again for all your reviews view help keep it real and informative
Picked up the whiskey after a friend recommended it to me. Its my only bottle in the house and so far im not at all ashamed that it is my only bottle great great whiskey.
Yeah I love how dynamic this whisky is... I had a salty and herbal dinner, and as I'm sipping this post-dinner... baking spices, apples, honey... my gosh it's so tasty. A great example of all the fun you can find when you acclimate to peat. As for the live stream, heck yeah, I would love to do that if the timing works out. In fact, I should have some Talisker Dark Storm to crack and enjoy for it.
I went to the Talisker distillerie last October... they really have a great selection of whiskys. Real nice, spicy, perppery and smokey. We had a great time there ! Plus the island is crazy gorgeous.💙

It's interesting to hear you describe it as a chameleon which is in line with my thinking that it's kind of a "Best Of". After my first bottle I thought that if I could only have one, this might be it. It's got a little of everything. Oh, and heck yeah on the Lyle Lovett!
Question: Should we let Talisker 10 sit for 10 minutes in the glass before drinking it to get all of the aroma and flavor out? I also enjoyed it a whole lot more after adding a couple of drops of water to it.

Talisker is a metal band to me. Maybe it’s the seaside theme, but it reminds me of Mastodon (the Leviathan album). It’s just relentless and pummeling. Personally I have a hard time wrestling with Talisker. Hopefully I can figure it out as I go through the bottle

So my bday present was some Talisker Skye. I Love it. Now I know why they describe some peat flavor as "band aid". My next whiskey I want peat, but a different kind of peat. Of course Laphroig and Ardbeg are the classics, however which one would be further from the iodine style of peat. What would you guys recommend.

It doesn't! It's actually very drinkable. Compared to like Jameson it's suuper smooth in terms of burn. It's powerful, smoky, salty but certainly not burning.

Talisker Distiller’s Edition was the first single malt I tried. It converted me to whisky. I haven’t been able to get another bottle of the DE, but the 10 yo is a nice substitute and a bottle is always in my shelf. The 18 yo, which I`ve tried only once, is fantastic. In my experience Talisker is a chameleon not only along contexts, the same sip evolves and surprises from nose to finish.
I'll be dog sitting with literally nothing to do but read, drink and be fat. A live stream might actually be the closest thing I get to human interaction.

Talisker 10 may be my all time favorite. To me it is pepper with just enough smoke. I'm always surprised how much I like it when I try it again.

Imo ardbeg is much more campfire. But if thats not enough then lagavullin i personally think

All I could taste in the Talisker 10 was leather. Guess I still have a lot to learn. Or are there "bad bottles"?
