I purchased a Mavic 3 Fly More Combo and the DJI RC PRO (separately) and I currently own an Air2s and Phantom 4 pro for real estate photography and videography. I’m really struggling with keeping my Mavic 3. One of the main reasons I want to return is the crippling 4:3 aspect ratio for photos. I realize I can just add the 3:2 aspect ratio crop in Lightroom across all photos but I'm having trouble realizing I'd have to do this for the next probably 3 years. I'd also have to re-position every photo after the crop to adjust up or down depending on framing of the photo. Maybe this can be fixed with firmware as an in camera crop for 3:2 to match my workflow? Also, I really hate tapping on the screen to bring up aperture and shutter speed adjustments. What I really want is for the RC PRO gimbal dial be able to adjust aperture and shutter speed like the Phantom 4 pro. I’m wondering if this will be something they can and will add in future firmware updates? As for video, I'm quite happy with the Air2s and do not see a huge leap in video quality, codecs or frame rates that justify the price jump. I think for the $4,199.00 I spent, it is hard to see that I am gaining anything that great over my Air2s. I don’t care about obstacle avoidance, I can avoid crashing. I do love the new batteries for length of flight and ease-of-use.

Grande Alex!!
I bought an Air 2S three months ago. So, I may pick up a Pro 3 towards the end of its sales life (3 years time?). At that stage it will be mature technology with firmware surely optimised and a wide range of proven accessories to choose from. Even if I did not have an Air 2S, I would be reluctant to purchase the Pro 3 for both pricing and as yet missing firmware. I do understand the many benefits of the Pro 3 not least of which is the new return to home using omni-directional sensors, the quieter motors/props and greater aerodynamics.
Maybe wait till next year since the firmware comes out next year I feel like DJI rushed their product so that they can have three consecutive product launches before the 11.11 sales day in China so it will get a huge sales
I have the Autel Evo 2 Pro. I do sunset videos and night videos. Its amazing. It just doesn't get enough credit. I have 12 DJI drones and love them, but for sunset and night videos, Autel Evo 2 Pro 6K has them beat. Also Autel has the best support service hands down.
Great video. I bought the A2S back in July, my very first drone and love it. I might get the M3 when they get ready to release the M4 but until then ill keep my A2S.
A 4/3 sensor is much bigger than any portable walking around sensor, such as a DJI Pocket 2. Maybe I'll figure a way to mount the Mavic 3 to a mini tripod and walk around with the drone? OK, yeah, to expensive if only doing that.
I thought this was going to help me finally squeeze the trigger on the Air 2S, but you went back to the one reason I am hung up on spending a lot more: adjustable aperture. I suppose ND filter set will help but still...
Looking at your footage on my phone, hard to believe people will drop that kind of cash on the Mavic 3. But it’s their money and their Ferrari to the grocery store. Zero reason for me to hate. Appreciate the level talk you provided.
I have a P4P, M2P and a Mini 2. I use the P4P and M2P for utility inspections and mapping with Drone Deploy. Until DJI releases the SDK for the M3 it's pretty useless to me. TBH - I have been really impressed with what my tiny Mini 2 can do!
Dude. You must have zero patience. Drone deploy will be compatible with the M3 by January. And once it does support the M3. You will be able to automatically charge more. And as far as mini 2. Cuz I have one too. It’s only so “impressive” if it’s a sunny day. Other then that it has poor low light performance. I shoot real estate photos and my mini 2 doesn’t cut it for the job. Mini two only shoots single shot pictures. Not aeb, no bracket shots. Nada. So yes I have captures some wow shots with the mini. But until you see the M3 with your own eyes. The m2p with smart controller is the same price as the M3. So when I went to get a new drone I wanted the m2p because of it being compatible with drone deploy. But they are no longer making them and it’s sold out everywhere. Even the DJI store. Soooo go check it out in person before you make these statements.
Thanks for your video, really useful. As a newbie to drones I have one question. I will soon be getting an Air2S and I would like your advice on which smart controller would be the Best Buy. I know that there is a controller that has been out for a few years and which has a Air2S upgrade but do you know if there is or will be a more suitable smart controller coming soon? Many thanks.
from the footage of the M3C I downloaded so far I can say that the M3C has slightly better shadow detail and has less macro blocking. The A2S has more actual detail and way less sharpening though resulting in a much more organic and textured image.
Agree 100% In normal colour profile the Air2S looks oversharpened, but in Dlog (+Grade) it is perfection. A filmic, organic image, well balanced. It's strange but I think i prefer the Air2s image over the M3's Please Dji! Add the sharpness setting in Fly App !
@@mrshaheedmalik idk where you got that $4k number since the Mavic 2s cost $1k and the Mavic 3 cost $2,200 on the DJI store...so $1,300 difference.........this is not counting the combo, but still you are way off because the "CINE" version doesnt have better features....just a few more accessories and upgraded controller.....so you really don't need the "CINE" and the regular mavic 3 is like I said $2,200
Absolutely blunt straightforward and very pragmatic comparison! This is so much better from all other (infact wonderful) TH-camrs out there! They all seem to just answer your question but not answer your question? I don't know if you understand what I mean but yeah cheers for keeping your review so practical. I wish I had money to buy Mavic 3 although honestly I do not have money to buy even Air 2S :p I do have DJI Mavic Mini as for now but I do wish to upgrade to Air 2S (or if my budget permits then Mavic 3) in upcoming future. Regards :)
I believe the mavic 3 doesn't use the full sensor. They did it on the action 2 only using 75% of the sensor. I think they did the same on the drone since the glass seems too small for a micro 4/3rd sensor. If so it seems like the mavic 3 isn't as far apart from the air 2s as they advertise
Or......................wait to see what the Autel Evo 3 has to offer! Thats what I decided after cancelling my order for the mavic 3 cine version yesterday. For that kind of money it is certainly best to wait! Also, I suspect that is why DJI pushed the M3 out to market without completed firmware since they probably wanted to be the first to put out a m 4/3 camera. Looks like Autel will have a m4/3 version of the EVO 3, so that is something to look forward to.
a really nice comparison, I thought the mavic 3 was an absolute blast, but hey air 2s is a pretty good drone and thank you for making me realize it, loved the video
Thanks for the video ! As for the Mavic 3, may i ask if you get a crop when you switch from 5.1k 30fps to a higher frame rate (50 fps)? Same for 4k... Is there a crop when you switch from 30fps to 60fps ?
Great to hear a few of the details from a real user. For someone who does zero post editing apart from trimming length, I'm off to buy the Audi, don't need the Farrari!
Great comparison! Love your video. Haven't get any one of them but just want to ask the battery time means under the video mode or not? Or it doesn't matter you are in video mode or flight mode, maximum is 31mins for air2 S? I am planning to buy the Air2 S for video recording about 20~25mins non-stop in a running match for 5km, is it possible?
Thank you Alex for a super honest comparison review. Actually, I wish the Mavic 3 had a single 4/3" camera and not a dual one. Maybe it will happen in a future release, which will make it lighter and fly longer. And agree with you that the V2 goggles are a must for the Mavic 3 and the AIR 2S, and wish that DJI listens and delivers on this subject. There might also be a future AIR 2S release, like AIR 3S with a variable aperture, to compete with the Autel EVO Light +. So, I am not in rush for upgrading, right now, and prefer upgrading my MAC first with the coming Apple M2 chip.
I gave my mom my old MA2 and her first shot ever on a drone was featured in the Washington Post. I personally love my MA2S and would be intimidated using the Mavic 3 due to its insane price.
What happen is you got the air 2 not 2s should we upgrade to marvi 3. The only problem I have with marvic 3 is that it's heavier. The air 3 would be prefect
The list of features that the 3 has over the air 2S makes it a must upgrade for me. It’s not just about image quality!

It’s a Mavic 3 right? I haven’t seen anywhere in the press release and product description saying the word Pro..
check out DC rainmakers test in high winds
Maybe wait till next year since the firmware comes out next year
I feel like DJI rushed their product so that they can have three consecutive product launches before the 11.11 sales day in China so it will get a huge sales
Thanks for sharing!
Where is that location ? Amazing
is there a RTL switch on this one on the controller ? or do you still have to go through your phone
Great video. I bought the A2S back in July, my very first drone and love it. I might get the M3 when they get ready to release the M4 but until then ill keep my A2S.
M3 took more than 3 years. With no real competition, m4 may take the same
So the air2s supports the fps goggles now?
A 4/3 sensor is much bigger than any portable walking around sensor, such as a DJI Pocket 2. Maybe I'll figure a way to mount the Mavic 3 to a mini tripod and walk around with the drone? OK, yeah, to expensive if only doing that.
I thought this was going to help me finally squeeze the trigger on the Air 2S, but you went back to the one reason I am hung up on spending a lot more: adjustable aperture. I suppose ND filter set will help but still...
You're right, adjustable aperture is nice but you can achieve same results with ND filters and patience.
@@WeTalkUAV you're right. It's an absurd amount for the nice to have, especially given that it's my passion not my paycheck.
cool movie, when will you test mavic 2s vs mavic 3 in low light? Would it be possible for you to share DNG files ?
Looking at your footage on my phone, hard to believe people will drop that kind of cash on the Mavic 3. But it’s their money and their Ferrari to the grocery store. Zero reason for me to hate. Appreciate the level talk you provided.
it seems difficult these days to find people like you. zero reason to hate, oh the world could be so much nicier :)
I have a P4P, M2P and a Mini 2. I use the P4P and M2P for utility inspections and mapping with Drone Deploy. Until DJI releases the SDK for the M3 it's pretty useless to me. TBH - I have been really impressed with what my tiny Mini 2 can do!
You're right Jim, at the end the most important thing is how you use them. I've done nice thing with the Mini 2 too.
Don't forget about the flame 🔥 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
flame armyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I know the sensor is too small to be a true 4/3rds sensor compared to a camera. So why is it called that?
Hello Brother, It's Me Nil. i Need a Help. I can't Understand how to Live Stream by dji mini 2. Can you uploading Live Stream Test VLog.
Cool video, can't wait for the M3 vs Autel Evo 2 pro 6k!
from the footage of the M3C I downloaded so far I can say that the M3C has slightly better shadow detail and has less macro blocking.
The A2S has more actual detail and way less sharpening though resulting in a much more organic and textured image.
Agree 100%
In normal colour profile the Air2S looks oversharpened, but in Dlog (+Grade) it is perfection. A filmic, organic image, well balanced.
It's strange but I think i prefer the Air2s image over the M3's
Please Dji! Add the sharpness setting in Fly App !
But if you are comparing M3C to the Air 2s, that is a $4K difference in price.
The a2s us is the greatest drone the world has ever seen
@@mrshaheedmalik idk where you got that $4k number since the Mavic 2s cost $1k and the Mavic 3 cost $2,200 on the DJI store...so $1,300 difference.........this is not counting the combo, but still you are way off because the "CINE" version doesnt have better features....just a few more accessories and upgraded controller.....so you really don't need the "CINE" and the regular mavic 3 is like I said $2,200
Shutterstock not accepted footage. Bad quality in the shadows, too much Noise and Film Grain.
Perfect. This is a great help ❤️
So glad!
Regards :)
Is that the mavic 3 or 3 cini
I'm struggling a little bit...sometimes the Air2S video looks better in your video....Cheers DrDuu
Do they insure it if you lose it in the ocean 😅 I owned a mini and lost it in Italy 😂
Yes sir it sho6 be ready march or April 2022 well worth the wait to me
a really nice comparison, I thought the mavic 3 was an absolute blast, but hey air 2s is a pretty good drone and thank you for making me realize it, loved the video
a very interesting job, great shots and cuts. put together with a lot of passion.
thanks buddy! danke!
Thanks for the video ! As for the Mavic 3, may i ask if you get a crop when you switch from 5.1k 30fps to a higher frame rate (50 fps)? Same for 4k... Is there a crop when you switch from 30fps to 60fps ?
Love your vids bro... Philippines here❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks from Russia, bro! Don't need to upgrade at all.. Great help from u! Thanks one more time))
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!!! 😊
When will mavic 3 crash test
That was helpful. Straightforward and easy to follow.
Glad it was helpful!
Great to hear a few of the details from a real user. For someone who does zero post editing apart from trimming length, I'm off to buy the Audi, don't need the Farrari!
Glad it was helpful! Audi is also nice! :)
Where is the low light test? Did you forget to put it?
I gave my mom my old MA2 and her first shot ever on a drone was featured in the Washington Post.
I personally love my MA2S and would be intimidated using the Mavic 3 due to its insane price.
Wait. Isn't it 200 Mbps in h264 and 140 Mbps in 5.1K h265 on Mavic 3 Vs 150 Mbps in 5.4K in h.265 on Air 2S?
as always you guys are the best and are always go too before buying a new drone.. I agree, no need to upgrade this time
thanks a lot Greg :D i appreciate your words
You look younger now - what did you do? Nice video again.
i don't have a gf anymore
What happen is you got the air 2 not 2s should we upgrade to marvi 3. The only problem I have with marvic 3 is that it's heavier. The air 3 would be prefect
Air 3 will be incredible, for sure! :)
Thanks for watching!
