Great video. Loved the big catch. That was awesome! We watch a youtuber who goes around and repairs very old log cabins in the woods which the public may use for camping. The log cabins and camp sites are pre-1960s, some as early as 1940s, 1950s. Its just him and his dog.

Looked like a great outing. Beautiful campsite and lake as well as the very nice smallmouth bass and pike! Mosquitoes suck but we have to put up with them in the summertime woods or stay home.

Nice fish!! Guess it was about 33” in length. Good fight. Jacks always put up a good fight. Side note: in the lake we live on, northerns have to be 75 cm (30 inches roughly)
Many years ago I went with my father in law and his grandson around Detroit lakes. The one morning his grandson and fished for several hours and we caught bass and crappies. I would through back the big bass and the grandson says my grandfather keeps everything, I said but I don't. One night me and Allen went out and caught many walleyes and kept them. It was a great week, the cabins weren't the best of shapes but for 3 guys it was good. I drove up to lake Vermilion to stay with my Dad for a week and it rained everyday but that never stopped us as long as we stayed off the big open water, where it was very windy. Now I don't have my Dad anymore and all I have are memories of that time. My mom has been gone since 1997 which is a long time ago. They both fished together on lake Vermilion for over 30 some years and that by their wishes is where we the family spread their ashes.

They make a potholder that is the size of cast iron fry pan. Slips right over handle. Very cheap. First time I saw one took me a minute to figure out what off shaped pot holder was for. Very Nice video

Your camping spot looks alot like the black & white photos my Dad had from fishing trips he took back in the 1930's with his friend. I wonder if this is the same lake he fished. He and his friend have both passed away, my Dad would be 110 years old if he were still alive. I know one thing, the bugs were REALLY bad back in his day those many years ago. Enjoy your trips up there!

I love fishing 🎣. I haven't gone for many years and I really miss it. Back in the day I went fishing a lot. I loved bass fishing. The biggest bass I caught was a little over 8 lbs. So exciting ! When I had it to the boat and about to net it, there was a monster of a musky with its mouth wide open right on its tail. I almost had a heart attack....hahaha. Such a memorable experience. Great video. I enjoyed watching.
Zack, you caught more fish than I've seen your dad catch in all my years of following.
Patience makes the difference.Also if you retrieve lures at 10 knots makes it hard for the fish to follow.
