    As a concept its neat, and appreciate it's a hark back to the ol' toploaders. Of course naturally I pray at no point would you need to start blowing into it like the old days if they stop working properly 🤣

    Especially digging the arped harp today, and also really the entire reverb card. Seems like a really cool left-of-left-field thing they've got here. And oh no, now my fave is the tape card!

    I picked up an Arcades about a month ago and am currently quite smitten with the LoFi and Gen Loss cards. Hopefully I can find a Satellite card that’s not ‘sold out’. Amazing playing as per usual and wonderful job twisting knobs to show the range of the effects. Thank you for yet another great demo!

    Awesome Pedal Done Quick!
    It's great to see the multi-effect archetype targeted at something a bit more abstract, and in my opinion fun and versatile across instruments than just "guitar pedalboard" in a box. I'd be so worried about losing the cards, though! Is there an initialization time when you put in a new card? How much of the pedal's actual circuitry is in the cartridge, so could someone develop cards on their own for the Arcades, or even make a pedal that treats the card's circuitry in a completely different way (hoping not to offend Cooper's intellectual property, it's a hard world for canine pedalmakers; glad he's found a new place at CBA). For real, though, there's not a single uninspiring sound in this whole ecosystem. It reminds me of Zoia in terms of the expansive possibilities, but presents a more immediate path to a fun sound. I love how boutique pedal land seems to be heading in an "80s Eventide on acid" direction. (the phase synchronization with the harp strings was very nice, intentional or not)
    Thank you for playing!
    Keep warm, and see you again soon!

    The Arcades looks awesome. It's really too bad that it's been discontinued, along with the entire Cooper Fx line. I'm sure many of you have heard, but this limited run if already sold-out cartridges was a one-off as the builder left his business and has joined Chase Bliss Audio. I do hope that someone can pick up and continue to manufacture the Arcades. Or, at the very least, develop some killer plug-ins based on the innovative (but now defunct) Cooper Fx boxes!

Was that an original piece? It sent my mind and spirit soaring over beautiful woodlands and mountains and made my heart yearn for adventure. If I heard that piece in an especially poignant moment in a movie or a video game, tears would instantly come to my eyes as it sounds so beautiful! It’s too bad they have the proprietary-looking cards. I’d lose or break the hell out of those. One off kilter step towards the switch and that’s all she wrote. It’d be great if these used SD cards and had some more end user mod potential or even just the ability to flash new programs without having to buy more cartriges. I get the concept though. Your playing is perfect and beautiful as always!

    • @TheNotoriousYJX

      Spot on. I guarantee one clumsy stomp from me would break the heck out of that card interface.

    • @artiefischel2579
      @artiefischel2579 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Proprietary cards are a show stopper. Obviously meant for the vendor lock in. If they were smart they would have used standard USB and published an API so hackers could come up with crazy unique effects. That way a whole ecosystem spings up around the pedal and the pedals fly off the shelves. This is simply shortsighted.

    • @naturaljoe759
      @naturaljoe759 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@artiefischel2579 I don’t know why I didn’t even think USB. Either way would allow nearly limiltless flexibility with programs and effects. I just feel like we’ve evolved so far beyond the concept of proprietary cartidges if you want a lasting platform. It’s a neat gimmick, but I can’t see folks using it as more than a novelty a decade from now.

    • @martianmurray
      @martianmurray 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m guessing new cartridges would be cheaper than new pedals tho. I think there could be a niche market for people who want to plug and play without connecting to a computer.

    • @XIIMonkeysMusicGroup

      These "cards" are swappable EEPROM chips! That's why SD or USB won't work.

    Thanx, as ever.
    I've been debating whether or not to get one of these, and this comprehensive demo has been the determining factor to just go ahead; I've been looking for a reliable/randomized stutter effect and it looks like Cooper has it covered with Lo-Fi & Grain cards.
    And, of course, your playing is lovely and well suited to the effects used.

    • @aarcvault908
      @aarcvault908 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never mind.
      It appears that Cooper is no longer producing or selling pedals (according to the website), which would explain the obscene pricing on Reverb ($750.00 & up, no joke).
      The good news is that I already got my Outward pedal and for just above retail.
      -Interesting days, indeed.

    • @emilyharpist
      @emilyharpist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry you got excited about the pedal, then found out about the Reverb price inflation :( it’s seriously the worst thing, it’s been happening with all the Cooper FX pedals long before they closed their doors. I made this video prior to knowing they closed, and the Satellite portion of this video about 6 months ago, but I loved the video and really wanted to put it out for the Satellite card release. The good news is that Chase Bliss Audio absorbed Cooper FX and all their designs, I’m hoping they resurrect this soon so it can be more readily available so scalpers don’t have the opportunity to raise prices. I know they’re developing a new version of their Generation Loss pedal so that stops happening as well. Thanks so much for being here and I hope you’re not too disappointed!!

    • @aarcvault908
      @aarcvault908 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emilyharpist: No, it's fine. It's been happening with other manufacturers, too. And as far as the scalpers are concerned, given the economic conditions of late, they'll get theirs soon enough.
