- DAY 3 OF THE MONTH OF TAGBAXMAS! The forgotten NERF Bow: the 2016 NERF ELITE Stratobow. It's probably one of the better, "bow action" dart blasters NERF has made, featuring a 15 Dart Clip that can rapid fire off darts using the bow string and air power. It's fast, it's fun, and it looks cool... but nobody talks about it now. It has some potential mod support too if you really want to give it the love it deserves.

I truly loved this blaster and still do. It’s not very competitive anymore in the world of dart zone high performance, but back when all we had was the elite standard this thing was insane.

I could totally see this with an HvZ paint job, like a classing apocalyptic compound bow.
What's really funny is I literally passed one of these up at the thrift store a couple days ago so I just got my "Oh yeah you were a thing weren't you?" moment early
The Stratobow and Crossbolt are two blasters that I particularly like, for both form factor and function.
Just found a stratobow at my local value village just a few days ago, and I definitely forgot about it until that moment
I kinda love all the bows. They add some nice variety to potential load outs. And, in my group we have a special game type called Dwarves and Elves: teams of two, one player with a shield and melee, and the other with some sort of bow blaster. Fun stuff!

I have gotten to the point where I really hate smart AR systems, because they only work well with new darts. Strato Bow is cool because it’s NOT smart AR.
I’d bet running this in a stock war is a BLAST. I dig unique, more fun oriented blaster like this

I still have this one, it’s really fun and easily the best bow.
I’ve seen one person use it during HvZ. He lasted longer than expected, but still went down fairly early in the game.
The Stratobow was a much better bow that it got credit for. Had it gotten released before the Nerf Mega Thunderbow, the Stratobow would have had way more notoriety. It’s so hard to believe that it’s been 6 years for the Stratobow. Great video! It’s also crazy to think that you’ve been doing Tagback longer than many current Tagback items! Kudos, Walcom!
I visited some family for Thanksgiving this year and they had one of these, I picked it up and immediately loved it. It's just so cool.

Yes this was my first nerf blaster
I got this on the shelf at wally-world for $15 when it came out. Then it went to the msrp of $35.
I've tightened the string (I actually forgot how loose it was lmao), added foam axe heads to the bow arms. Given it a 15 dart belt "quiver", as well ad a DZ rail for fun. Even gave it some sling mounts.
I also did a custom wrap on the grip, so it's more comfortable. I f'n love my stratobow!
I also cut down an AF katana to knife size, and made a sheath built into the lower bow arm. This shizzle is built for HvZ.
I love noticing videos less than an hour before they were let out, in this case 20 minutes
Someone needs to steal this mechanism and make one that uses short dart magazines. That would be awesome.
Watching tag back makes people feel old.
I always loved this blaster. I found it super fun to use and it always made me feel like Legolas lol. I wish there was an upgrade path for it so I could use it in games today
I've got one. It's the ultimate loaner, can be primed by even the weakest of kids, is impossible to jam, and looks pretty cool to boot
My favorite bow blaster is the crossbolt! If you haven’t please make a tag back about it! I loved mine until it jammed and then it locked up and refused to every fully work again. It’s actually a blaster I’m willing to buy just for the nostalgia now that I’ve switched from loving nerf blasters to loving analog film cameras lol

"Domination" is not the word I think of when I think of the stratobow.
I've used one of them, they are AMAZING
I didn't usually go out of my way to grab nerf blasters back in 2016 but when I saw the Stratobow I had to have it I was playing some overwatch back then and the fact that I could have basically Hanzo's stormbow was just too cool to me and I loved using it in the mini wars that my friends would have at my place. I wish I had modified it instead of throwing it away because I genuinely miss it and would love to see a resurgence in popularity for it.

I love the Thunderbow, so I'm sure I'd love one of these too. I can't justify the price, but I might have to head into the city to see if there's one at a thrift shop there. I did good for blasters on Black Friday at the thrift stores in town, but I do love bows. Keep up the good work!!!
My buddy used one of the Mega bows for his larp game and it was pretty effective!
My local Kohls has a pile of new Stratobows priced at $44.99 for the holidays... I don't think I have ever laughed harder in a department store without anyone falling down.

Saw this at my local target around the same year and a few years later I believe thought it was cool.
Stratobow is one of my favorite nerf because its one of my first nerf. ironically i used them as melee rather than bow
I had one of these for a while, but realized very quickly that the mega thunder bow was more fun in every way. It was annoying how the string wacky your hand every time, so I sold it with a bag of darts for 15 bucks.
The Stratobow looks awesome, and I kinda would like it because I could use it as a prop.
We occasionally run not mod battles with children. This is a great loaner.
I like the old Crossbolt because it's a true stringer instead of a faux stringer plunger like the Stratobow.
Insane idea but if you mod in a catch and trigger, and get rid of the arms and the string. You would basically end up with a 15 shot jolt.
This was by far one of my favorite "bow" platforms that didn't shoot the whistle arrows

Honestly, I've been acing in LARP and isn't some nerf stuff with those Zing bows. they are totally awesome.
Watching this video really makes me think of a an actual bow-like blaster that can emulate how an actual bow would shoot, from short bow to war bow... Hehe, would be funny to see those old arrow missiles on a nerf bow

I have one of these. I feel like the clip mechanism would have trouble moving if you had 15 separate brass barrels in this thing. but maybe you can make it stronger.

Like the crossbolt this ones is a guilty pleasure blaster that I want. Just because its different. Its like one of the only ones i havnt come across. Its not the kind of blaster you spend $16.99 on. The another

A friend of mine used the stratobow at an HvZ event once. At the end of the day the inside of his forearm was a huge patch of scraped red skin. It took us a long time to figure out it was from the drawstring scraping his arm for hours 🤣

I have one. I'm not into bows that much, but something about the stratobow's aesthetics I liked. maybe i'll get around to modding it. I'm making a deplorable right now
Mega thunderbow was still the best bow. (Aside from rebelle line)
Big, powerful, intimadating and accurate (not with that whistling dart, they have low accuracy)
Thunderbow is accurate, its just that its harder to aim down sight cuz it got no sight…but to shoot a human size target, it gets the job done.

You're also going to want to tighten the string, and learn to love vambraces.
Also, don't try to rapid fire it. Be deliberate with your shots, and it won't skip. I've had mine since it came out. F'n love that thing!

Ah Stratobow, orange rubber broke off from my one but honestly it's easy to use it without that.
I miss elite, zombie strike and modulus lines. That is the time i got into nerf and that is the time i fell of the nerf. Just can't find money into it and other hobbies are pulling my hands.

I wonder if one modified the plunger system you could replace that cord with 550 cord. Idea would for this to fire maybe up to stock not-pro dart zone performance (about 90 fps).

I'm not really sure why the Stratobow moved away from the catch mechanism that the Thunderbow used, and thus set the standard for the "real bow action" that all other bows since have used
Was thinking of adding length to the bow arms, give it a longer, more grown up draw length.
And if I remember the plunger tube has ame gaps in it.
Maybe to make it easier to draw? Maybe to make it shoot less hard?
