- Say what you want about NERF and Fortnite: it's kinda weird that we're getting all these strange modern firearms recreated as cartoony NERF blasters, which I'm sure a lot of people like. But a NERF .50 CAL? The Barrett M82? Man, of all the sniper rifles they could pick this is definitely at the top of the list... too bad it has that gigantic Fortnite logo on the side. The NERF MEGA FORTNITE HEAVY SR is definitely an iconic blaster many people are going to want to thet their hands on...

ancient post to reply to, but consider getting a bottle of goo-gone gel spray for shipping labels and other permeable stickers. if you just q-tip it to the edges of the sticker and leave it for a few minutes, it'll peel right off with little to no effort. i used to do it for case stickers on video games from gamestop.
Why buy this if you can have the real thing! Although, at the nerf battle, the staff were pretty terrified when i got 12 kills, dont know why

Using it in a war was far more fun than expected. Especially with Mega Accustrike darts. And since I have a ton of Tyrant mags that work with it...yeah, it's gonna be used in HvZ next week, after I add a spring.
Let us know if a Magnus upgrade spring really fits. I suspect the 9kg Magnus spring will work in it.

@@frostyflakes69 Humans vs Zombies. Moderated game of tag where humans are armed with socks, Nerf blasters, etc. Zombie players try to physically tag human players to convert them to the zombie team. Ends when all humans are zombified, or humans meet some win condition.
For those of us that play a lot, HvZ games often happen in one day "invitationals" with multiple missions to try and survive, but plenty of college clubs still hold week-long games. In any case, itsfun trying to survive, and if we fail...it's also fun to go after the friends that are still living!
I want Nerf(or Buzzbee, or someone) to make a double barreled shotgun that shoots mega darts, like the nitro express rifles used for African hunting in real life.

I have an in progress design that's more or less a doom shotgun that'll use the spring thunder shells. Issue is I'm terrible at working plastic so my prototype will probably be most wood and metal and weigh 10 pounds.
My take away is that its a smaller slightly better functioning Centurion. I feel like it could have been better if they went with standard darts. No it wouldn't have the .50 cal feel like firing megas, but it would have likely ended up being the new Longshot.
It does the same as the centurion minus the fake recoil and the awesome prime
It has the same sized plunger tube as a longshot, so similar mod potential
@@kerb23 that's not great for a mega though. I'm with most people this should have been an elite dart blaster and God forbid they ever bring back accustrike this was the blaster to do it. That said nerf is mostly dead to me I'm looking at other manufacturers nerf only has a few things going for them.
At least it's got a scope unlike the other mega sniper rifle, looking at you centurion.
why use an oversized sniper rifle that can't even hit at long range when nerf made an oversized weapon to hit people at range aka the dude perfect bow
I’d stick with the centurion tbh. A much higher chrono velocity, super long prime (for that sniper feel), and a much higher quality bipod just makes for a more fun blaster imo.

@@ohsheet9240 mine broke within a month of having it. now it doesnt hold the barrel on and it tears up any darts. i barely even used it.
for 50 dollars, an adjustable bi pod and adjustable stock or a stock attachment point with this stock may have made this blaster like twice as good

For unknown reasons, the Nerf HeavySR looks more like a hybrid of Serbu BFG-50A and Anzio 20mm more than Barret M82 which it meant to be

What I find amazing about it is that it’s direct plunger unlike the centurion, so it can actually be made to hit harder. I wonder if a longshot spring will fit… i kinda doubt it tho

I think it looks fine other than the weird proportions on the stock.
Stock and the, barrel shroud? Whatever you'd call that, the ported part of the long barrel, cinches inward instead of being flush with the rest of the gun. I know it's Fortnite style but man, I don't dig those proportions.

I bought this thing just to modify, I have a big thing for Barrett’s, as I have an airsoft version too, I just love the idea of having such a huge intimidating gun xd this things got a simple, easy to modify mechanism

I really like the lighting you added for your backdrop. Maybe they might do a palette swap, but I would've liked this a lot more in green (albeit it might have to be in that high-vis green, so...maybe not).

So I really like the shell, I'm going to wait for it to find its way to my local Goodwill, and then see about designing a half turn kit for it with sealed breech and all the rest

A trick I learned with my Nerf Tri Strike: open the jam door to keep the bolt locked in place.
I'm glad I found this video because I've been looking for something iconic to blow my brains out with for years.

I really like this blaster I picked it up a couple months ago at my local Toys R Us. It’s 80 bucks in Canadian which is a little steep but thankfully I got it on sale for 60. I think it’s pretty cool

One part of the Fortnite line a lot of people forget is the cosplay aspect. The Fortnite line gives us cartoony versions of iconic weapons, so those who want to use guns for cosplay can get a good, cartoony version that comes with an orange tip. I managed to find the AR-L, which is.. the SCAR-L.. and I've used it as a cosplay prop a few times with no issue. This being an M82A1 Barrett 50 cal? Well, it just looks like it'd take paint well and be an awesome prop for sniper character cosplays.

1:17 actually it would just be a AW (arctic warfare) or the L96 as its proper designation. the AWP is specifically the police version (the P standing for police)
Basically the centurion from 2014 but with a smaller bolt area and looks like a Barret that got stuck in defect manufacturing.
(Yeah that was negative although in my opinion if you want a solid Barrett, but a strife if they still sell them get a kit to put on it and slap on a “fake bolt system”) and it will look good and it’s technically semi auto but still with a bolt primer although the kit would be a bit expensive 3D printing and CAD modeling if you have the time or just cutting some plastic could also work since buying one could be a bit expensive OR get this and get the hacksaw out to make some “adjustments”)
After the ceneteon, the dorado and this, nerf really likes the berret.
Also, why did they not use the centereon mag?it looks more like the berret mag than that thing.

I think it looks good enough, and if you was to go old school and shove a xbz or titan tank in it with a pump underneath the barrel I think it would be amazing.
If it doesn't break my shoulder into thousands of tiny bone fragments with each trigger pull it isn't a true Barret
I'm considering this because the aftermarket Mega Accufakes may improve performance

Have you considered getting/making a little flag and popping it at about the 50ft mark for the range tests?
Just thought it would be cheap/easy to make/get and might give a bit of indication of what you mean when you say things like 'a little wind but not much" . And of course you could occasionally take a few plinks AT it to demonstrate consistency.
As ever great video, even if the blaster itself is a disappointment (though not as big a disappointment as I expected at this point lol).
I would think trees and grass moving is a pretty decent indication.

I had a blast running and playing with my 4 and 5 year old boys, letting them snipe me while I flung darts in there direction with a single shot big shock. It doesn’t shoot hard enough for them to hurt each other. I can’t wait until they’re old enough for me to add some springs and hopefully see some mod kits on the market for this beast. It’s super fun and made me wish I was a kid again, cause I never had a nerf gun this cool 30 years ago. Also can’t wait til they’re old enough to expand into Dart Zone Pro! Holy cow, where was this gear when I was a kid?
