You can tell the reviewer has an appreciation for the genre of the game and doesn’t sound like he’s being forced to play it like some of the other staff reviews.
This guy was thorough and did well explaining the game mechanics. If they keep these types of reviews up, IGN might just rebuild their reputation. Hopefully they'll no longer be sellouts with terrible non-gamer reviewers.

All In all it definitely exceeded expectations. It's ambitious but thankfully not too ambitious as it's wise to start a new IP or franchise safely. Really excited to get my hands on this game!

Just finished Yuit’s story and playing kasane’s. I fell in love with this game and came to see the review. Was not disappointed although it’s a 9 for me at least. Amazing game deserving of all the success and sequels
Interestingly this is a much more positive review than others I’ve seen on here. Most didn’t care for the story, dialogue, world building, and were iffy on the two separate narratives. Also interestingly IGN has been promoting this game on their site and with videos more than most gaming outlets.
This is not an 8. The worst part of the game is the parts where you're not fighting. It's delivered in the most uninteresting way possible, the characters aren't interesting either and the dialog just goes on and on. The bsttles gets repetitive fast too despite the great combat system. It's more of a 6.

Scarlet Nexus is that game you'd never expect to love because of how underrated the game is. It is a game you'd start "ok just another ARPG" but man, the skill ceiling and the plot twist of the game will really shock you which is surprisingly good. The only thing that I can comment/suggest to better the game is that hopefully if they make a sequel of it, I like BAMCO to emphasize freedom of choosing your characters and put a larger scale in exploration.

This game has a lot of inspiration in Astral Chain in my opinion.
And that game took a lot of influence from JoJo. So as you can see, everything's a JoJo reference lol
Bandai has been using this art style way before astral chain, so its the opposite.

Got the game today to play some ps5 after ratcher and clank and what a surprise, is very fun to play, colorful and great animation
Target 4k 60fps , no ray tracing but the cel shaded graphics look really cool.
