@@dragonandavatarfan8865 dont blame you, it was a very cultured sentence, but I will translate for you. In other words he said:
“I watched what are considered the best animes ever made, animes full of amazing characters, story and badass fight scenes. But then I watched wholesome comedy, romcom, slice of life animes and couldnt enjoy them because Im spoiled by the better animes I have watched already.”
Edit: forgot to mention that not only are the first animes he mentioned objectively better, the big difference in the genre of the anime is a factor. Not everyone can enjoy both sides of anime, the wholesome super sweet vanilla stories vs the dark, dramatic and sometimes even gruesome stories of other animes. Both are equally good in my eyes, but of course everyone has a preference.

Interestingly enough Attack on Titan SHOULDNT be on the list. (massive spoilers following)
      SPOILERS:
First of all, the majority of the army is actual adults. We are just following the branch were new recruits enter, and actually see them grow up.
The technology isnt that far advanced and generally explained (of course within suspension of disbelief).
The rest of the world still exists. This is a major plot point of the fourth season. We find out that titans actually only cover a very small part of the world and the rest of the world is more or less buisness as usual.

"Why do protagonist-kun and waifu-chan have the same powers?"
"Why do they switch out the anime faces for CGI helmets for action scenes?"
"Why do the baddies look like weird video game characters?"

The hoodie is just a design choice I think, it appears when they enter a state of heavy focus called "Brain Drive" or develop a "Brain Field", think devil trigger if you've played DMC, maybe it lowers the amount of input to the brain from the outside world? • @MultiNaruto900
      @MultiNaruto900 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@gervoh It's likely reducing the amount of information the eyes have to send to the brain to process. The brain tends to peak its processing power at 18 years old - so arguably the reason why OSF members tend to be 18 and younger is literally because Brain Field takes up a fuck ton of that processing power on top of focus (as excessive use can lead to permanent brain damage and going beyond the duration kills you outright).

you forgot how those who plays god eater with is practically playing souls like on repetitive map with slightly more forgiving enemy. and please, souls borne map is just as repetitive as GE, forest-residential-castle-water related fucken' poison puddles-and open field as final boss pattern. which is fukken' ripped right off souls. and dlc dungeons are not much of a better of. i'd call it same as GE map design even.
and praise all you want about the character story, they might have been broken to pieces, but finding the memory echoes, that have label and number. not to count getting comparatively better ending requires getting all of the main character's related memory first. is NOT, comparable to soul-borne thing of scrambled egg.
praise it all you like the winning point of being soulslike is it's supposedly rather complex in gameplay and higher difficulty.
it is literally a -1 on soulsborne storytelling
which the only thing i view as positive is the more modern settings. tis' basically anime modern bloodborne. bit less emo while being more emo
don't get me wrong, it do have positive points to me personally since i like god eater up until before the mobile game. but hot damn dyaus pytha and those dlc bosses are cheap move.
      hellfire knight is caligula
      frozen empress is marduk
lord of thunder is evolved dyaus pytha.
one or two extra moves doesn't mean shit, sure they now have aesthetically pleasing reskins. but when dlc-ing for souls like game, the boss is the center of attention. but this 3 thing is NOT challenging as soul bosses. the safe spots for their attacks are as wide as io's tits and now with dodges with i-frames no less.

Sure you're the only resistance unit able to have agency (but agency mostly only goes to player in games) but you constantly come across other humans through random people in missions, the resistance cells you get money from connecting and the black market. There really isn't a tone of isolation in XCOM 2, or at least I didn't feel so.

Actually, as Merciless Mode said, a LOT of anime happens in other countries than Japan. There's stuff set in Victorian England, Germany, celtic fantasy Ireland, etc. Hell, even modern day ones. E.g., Hellsing is set in modern day UK.
Or even when it's in Japan, they very often have key characters from other countries. Like, if you want to spice up some magic setup, it's pretty much a trope in its own right to have some super-powerful 12 year old nun in a miniskirt from the Index Librorum Prohibitorum (the Roman Catholic Church's index of forbidden books) as a powerful antagonist, contagonist, or even party member. Or in the 'a certain' series, she IS the index.
Of course, they treat the actual history and myths of those places kinda like Hollywood does too. Which is to say, like a baby treats a diaper :p
For example, since I mentioned the index of forbidden books, the Japanese seem to think it's a list of magical books that the clergy actually study, as opposed to some list of stuff they thought only heretics read... and which included the Bible for a few centuries straight.

of course there is also the point that both protagonists do not do the same things so you have incentive to play the other character after finishing one, because they go to different places and do different things. and the setting is just so tht its cognitively easy to pick up on whats going on. and its only important in how they explain it afterwards. i for one was somewhat satisfied with their explanation for why things are as they are at the start. if anything they actually go out of their way to explain it more than most similar setting games do

I really enjoyed Scarlet Nexus, especially it's combat. And I didn't feel like the "issues" Yahtzee mentioned existed for me. Changing the targeted enemy feels quick and intuitive, R1 + right stick left/right to target the next enemy in that direction. 2xR1/L1 to change the character wheel for the powers felt fun as well and could be executed quite well, I guess it depends on how well you can adapt to that. But if there is one thing I have to say that felt a bit nasty was some of the trash fights. I played on normal and had grinded up a bit to stop feeling underpowered and there were still some trash groups that fuckered me right the hell up the moment I got into the fight. A big let down were MOST of the bosses. From the bosses I met as the girl protag (Kasane) only one is actually fun to fight and feels like an actual boss instead of just a big trash mob and it's the Dominus Circus, the 2nd to last boss.
It's not a perfect game and although I don't agree with Yahtzee I can understand those that do. Storywise it's some typical anime stuff but I enjoyed the Kasane story. Haven't played Yuito's side of the story yet but the overall story was fun and had some nice surprises although I rolled my eyes at some story beats.
Overall I really enjoyed my time with it and I'd give it a solid 8.5/10.

You know, Yahtzee has a point about how this is the Japanese gaming equivalent of Jiminy Cockthroat- he didn't even get around to mentioning Persona 3, or Code Vein, or God Eater, or Mary Skelter, or any of the other horde of games about teams of inexplicably-empowered young people being the only ones who can save a beseiged humanity from extermination at the hands of mysterious monsters. Another syndrome is needlessly-elaborate gameplay mechanics that can be really hard to work out without a wiki and several tutorial videos (bullet customisation from God Eater springs to mind), too many party members, and needlessly-clunky controls. And for some reason, Bandai Namco in particular seem to have cornered the market on them.
