    Love how Jonas said the racquet he wants brought back is the Pure Storm GT Tour. I use the non-Tour weighted up to my spec and I never want to change. I have been stockpiling them before they disappear. Got my first one for free (in the PS '17 pj) from a top 100 player I got to train with.

    I like the lower launch and great directional control of the 2023 gravity. I dont see why they would change up the formula too much and make a 98 gravity. I think 100sq inch with 18x20 and lower power is a great combo.

    I'd like to bring back the Dunlop Max 200G. I have a lot of arm issues and that was the most comfortable racquet I've ever used. You could even shank the ball of the hoop and it wouldn't sting. Also, it was very friendly for low tensions thanks to the dense string pattern -- 18x20 in 84".

    • @randrothify
      @randrothify หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a couple Max 200Gs that I still hit with for fun. The injection molding and the sheer weight of that frame may explain its arm-friendliness more than anything else. It’s a beast! And exceptionally unforgiving by today’s standards. Great frame though in its time and certainly unique with proportions more like a wood racket and thick beam that was unusual at the time. Would like to see all of the manufacturers bring back their classics from time to time, if only to acquaint today’s players with what the game used to be played with and to be grateful for how much they have it now. Plus, frames like the Pro Staff 85, the Prince Graphite, and the original Head Prestiges are good teaching aids for instilling proper technique and have unbeatable feel and surprising power because of their weight.

      My main racquets, until this year, was the Wilson ProStaff 85. I'm getting older and everyone hits so much harder that I thought it might be time to come into the 21st century. I'll still keep one in my bag -- just in case I need to get old-skool on someone. I might even bring out my Kneissl White Star.

    What confuses me so far is the difference between gravity 98 tour and Boom Pro. In practice

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Gravity Tour 98 has way better feel in my opinion, nice and plush and more of a classic Head feel to it. Even though it has a low flex rating, it still has decent pop as well. Boom Pro packs a good punch but not great in the feel department, so for me I think the Gravity Tour 98 is a better racquet; that is subjective though. Troy, TW

    Troy is done with RF01 pro?😂

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      haha we had our fling, and I still enjoy hitting with it. However, when it comes to Wilson racquets I find the Blade Pro 16x19, Ultra Pro 16x19, and Six One 95 (basically the Pro Labs racquets) to be superior in my opinion. I have been enjoying the Blade Pro 16x19 with a leather grip and a some tungsten in the the handle, lots of tail weight since it has a high swingweight in stock form, and been really enjoying that. Troy, TW

      I also just realized you mentioned the RF 01 "Pro". I didn't play with that one much after the review, but I did customize the RF01, because it is a bit lower in stiffness compared to the Pro; the Pro felt a bit firm for my liking. Troy, TW

  • @theoodoors

    Your tennis level has a ceiling if you neglect developing technique and athletic ability. So the criticism of “technique bros” coming from a bunch of “equipment bros” is 😂
    The equipment should just be a complement to your playing style and help the technique that that playing style requires. Chasing the perfect setup and feel of a racquet or string is a distraction from true improvement. I get you guys are trying to sell racquets and string and a social media platform, but people should know the only way to see marked and lasting improvement as a tennis player is for your body to learn how to generate efficient racquet head speed, move more explosively and agile with proper footwork mechanics, be strong in a full range of motion, and be able to perform for several hours on end. If tinkering with setups is something that you love and genuinely fun, then recognize that as an engineering or mechanic-like hobby and disassociate it from longterm improvement in your game.

      It is their bread man. They need to sell you equipment 😂 this is why most of them are quite average players.

      "Chasing the perfect setup and racquet and string is a distraction from true improvement" - best quote of 2024. You will be downvoted like hell by these equipment nerds for dropping this truth bomb. I was a victim of this mindset and definitely hindered my improvement. Also fed up hearing the constant hype about some of their darling racquets like the Gravity.
