This is fascinating: so until just a couple of years ago, you basically only read fantasy, and now you read so much contemporary literary fiction? What changed? What’s started importing contemporary fiction into your reading?
I’ve realised I’m kind of like that too. For the past 3 years I was reading fantasy. Then I started shifting to cozy fantasy. Now Im obsessed with literary/historical fiction. Personally it’s just phases that I have. Back then (in college) I wanted exciting and action paced stories not set in this world. But these days I want thought-provoking and meaningful stories that help me feel deeply after a long day of work. Hope that gives you some insight! 😁
I love The Magic Mountain; it's one of my favorite novels of all time. Intrigued by a satire of it.
