I love how the pieces fit together and the story goes full circle. I kept thinking - I hope he takes this back down to the water in the end. and you did!
+frank howarth Thanks my friend.
heyyyyy frank i like it when you build things
I love watching your videos, I realize that complain when I do not have some power tool, and you do not use them at all and still do great things :)
+Made in Poland Thanks. It's a great workout.
So sweet! I love the joinery and the simplicity. great work all around!
+Wood By Wright Thanks!
Awesome chair, loved the joinery
+Scrap wood City Thanks
Greetings from Finland!
The chair is really nice. Real old-fashioned carpenter work with non-electric tools.
+Jonisco. Thank you so much!
I love when random inspiration grabs me as it did when I was walking along the river and saw a sea of driftwood calling me to make this Adirondack chair. I appreciate your comments and will begin working on the video How Version shortly. Chris
+Duke Nukem Thanks. I'm just curious, I've not made this video public yet. How are you able to see it?
Chop With Chris that awesome looking chair
Chop With Chris Great job now you need a side table for your iced tea cup.
Yes! Great idea
Chris, this is the type of video that drew me to your channel years ago. Please keep it up!
+JShim12 Will do!
Must build the chair to rest after get tired after build it, because build it makes you tired so you need to rest, so you need to build the chair that makes you tired, so you can rest on the chair that you built and so on and on. Hahaha, great video as usual !
+Christomb Charcot Its never ending!!
You are so hard working, entertaining, and creative. You never disappoint! Thanks again!
+Robert Rittenhouse Thanks so much!
Great timber framing here. Scribing ends of timbers looks quite similar to log cabin construction skills.
Thanks for the upload.
+Francis Barnett You are most welcome
all I can say is........wow that's very nice and looks very comfy
Rob
+Rob Crawford It sure is!
Nice video, Chris.
The driftwood chair looks great.
So from old material was again something new.
It is always fun to watch videos from you. Because you do it all with hand tools.
Thanks
Yes!!!!
+Matthew Cremona Thanks my friend
Wow, truly amazing. Reminds me if the Woodwrights show I loved to watch on PBS in the 80s.
Dan
+Tbone Pickens That is a true compliment. Thanks
I love the appearance of the first wood, the oak wood that looked like to be from a pier!
+Jerry Giesler It really made the Chair in my opinion.
Wow, that chair is beautiful. Amazing work Chris.
+A. Richter Thanks
That is awesome Chris! I can't believe you dragged it all to the fountain for the video shot. I'm getting onto more organic stuff like you but I'll never give up my woodmizer and 16" makita circ saw. I use all the hand tools too- couldn't do a lot of things without my chisels, slick, planes, boring bits and froe.
+falfas55bgas 👍🏻

+scottsadventures Thanks
Bravissimo!!! From italy...
+santi sciotto Gracie!
That was one of the more impressive videos I have seen in woodworking. Both the project and the editing of the story were phenomenal! I am most impressed with how you were able to drill all of holes without splitting anything, isn't drift wood brittle? PS: Thanks for showing off my shirt! its an honor to have it shown in your video :-)
+A Young Man's Workshop You are most welcome. I discarded all the brittle wood.
What a great use of driftwood Chris! I'm a long way from a beach with any amount of usable driftwood but I may just need to make a trip to the coast...
Go for it.
I have to check the laws here in California, they can be pretty protective of even beach combing. I know that I can get a TON of great stuff at my in-laws place up in Oregon. I think I'll have to take a trip up there, with w BIG trailer, this spring when the weather is more agreeable.
You're such an inspiration dude. Keep doing what you're doing brother.
+Tracy Luegge Thanks! More to come!
+Tracy Luegge I'm sure there is amazing Driftwood in Oregon!!
Freaking awesomeness!
+Henry Robinson Thanks. I really enjoyed this.
Excellent video! I work in the GE building right there. I'll have to comb the river banks and see if I can draw some inspiration too!
Chris Decker And you had no idea the treasures that lie beneath you....
Parabéns ótimo trabalho
Obrigado
very good person as carpenter !!!
+vansastro Thank you.
Chop With Chris Welcome Chris ... Have Nice Day 》GOOD LUCK MR CHRIS《
Nice lawn chair. Doesn't fold, but it's portable!
+J DeWitt True
nice job
BRAVO!! :-)
+RetroWeld Thanks
Very interesting that two of my fav TH-cam woodworkers (who happen to have TOTALLY different approaches to their work!) are fans of EACH OTHER: FRANK HOWARTH, and CHOP With CHRIS. Now if we just added Seth Rolland from Fine Woodworking's "Masters of the Craft" and what they termed “A Slice of Genius”video then we would have "The TRIUMVIRATE of TALENT!"
Thanks for this. It there a video I need to be looking for?
Yes, Chris. Search TH-cam for Fine Woodworking, then Masters of the Craft, then Seth Rolland, then what they call the "Slice of Genius" video. Enjoy!
Incrível!
+Leonardo Leo 👍🏻
Man. Just bad ass! New subscriber! Great. 😕Now I gotta go back and watch your other vids!😀👍🏽👊🏽

Just came over here from @jimmydiresta and I love the videos!
Welcome!
Great job! Are you planning something epic with those skis in the background?
Your best video yet. Loved it. When you eventually want to leave it stationary somewhere, will you put the glue to it?
+vrolsh No need for glue but I do need to weatherize it.
Wow Chris. Supercool. Wonder if you could sell those chairs at the fountain.
+Hugo Danilo I almost got arrested so I won't push my luck!
:'D Thank you!

+Rien957 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm going to ship it to Finland to my summer cabin.
+Ville QQ That would be nice to go to Finland!
For those of you who aren't following Chris on Instagram, definitely go do it for a glimpse into the process of making you don't see in the video. @chopwithchris
+Riley Alexander Well thank you very much!
Looks like something from the Flintstones still cool though
+Michael Kondora Thanks
Awesome work, Chris!
What keeps the tenons from splitting under the pressure when the keys are driven in?
+MachinatoVitae Good question and I was concerned about that. The chair weighs about 100 lbs and so there is no real side to side movement so the pins are really driven in too deep. They just need to hold the supports from sliding so there is little pressure on them. I also extended the length of the ends.
Dude! Your in Cincinnati! How did I not know this!
+Jim Henline But I'm not in Cincinnati 😄
Aha, figured it out, alright, my old stomping grounds up there. Cool, but still. Awesome.
+Jim Henline Thanks. It's a great city!
nic vid chris btw when you gonna make the kunai ?
+Titan PVP I think I need to learn to be a blacksmith 1st so not for while...
