I called the manufacturer's Customer Service number and the technician made it extremely difficult to follow. Great Vid. Very underrated channel! Was able to exchange my Max 360C out for this RL Max 360C. Only paid a $53 difference so definitely worth the upgrade.
Interesting to see that the auto brightness adjustment is still an issue with these new escort detectors. My original Max (late model from just before the Max II release) exhibits the same behavior of not usually reaching the desired daytime brightness.

While in Radar Settings on my iPhone, Band Settings and Marker Settings are greyed out preventing me from adjusting. How do I get these functions back?
I have a 360c it's not turning on anymore I tried other power cords still not turning on. (I disconnected for 4 min then I connect it again that's when it's stopped turning on ) I tried reseting it nothing happened What do you think I should do? thanks
Great video, thank you! I have 2 questions: 1 - If I don't have a laser jammer, how should I set the ZR3 setting? Off or Receive Only? 2 - I would think you would want K Notch turned on to filter out the BSM systems. But I see that in your personal settings on your website, you have it off. Does the Redline 360C already do a good enough job with filtering that K notch is not needed?
The ZR4 setting doesn’t do anything in that case. K Notch does impact performance and yeah, it seems to do well without the filter. It’s there if you need it though.
Thank you for the Redline 360C setup instructions and advice. This was most helpful setting up my new detector. I reside in Kansas and routinely travel in Missouri and Oklahoma. I have the X band set to off and the K and Ka segments as you use. Since highway patrol and sheriff department patrols tend use instant on in the area as opposed to operating radar continuously, do I have any potential danger by not setting K and Ka to cover the full spectrum of each band? Also, how much range do you believe is lost when setting the detector to cover the full spectrum of both K and Ka bands?
I noticed on my max 360c cam detector the restore factory settings option in the app doesn’t restore all the factory settings. I had to use the detector.
Hi, I have watched your videos and purchased a Redline 360c. I have the program, on my PC, to update the firmware, and user community stuff, but would like to connect the Redline 360c to my PC for changing settings as you show in this video. Is there a way to do this? When I connect the PC USB to my Redline 360c I get the USB symbol on the front panel of the detector. If there is not a way to do this on a PC, it would be a great tool to have.
I actually bought me the redline 360 based on your review and input. Now I'm trying to dial it in. I live in Oregon southern Oregon to be exact and I'm just curious if your recommended general settings are northwest settings. Not sure where your at but trying to get the best out of my radar detector and you seem to know more than just a thing or two about the radar detector and the bands in your area. Thank you for the great video. The App on android is deplorable, it only works when it feels like it. Most of the time it won't connect to my phone even after I go to settings/devices and choose the Redline 360 it still doesn't work. I'm pretty dissapointed in the App. Do you know of a solution to make the App connect to the detector?
Just a heads up. I used the link for the ka bands for my state of NH. Link says I don’t need ka 2 that is def incorrect. I would do your own testing. I’ve been writing down all the frequencies I get and then find what ka band it goes with. So far I need ka 2,5,6,8

Not compatible with the ZR5 shifters unfortunately 😔 and I have an M1 dashcam. Will have to get a different dashcam to use the ZW5 shifters. Don't think the M1 and Redline 360C have anything in common anyway besides the pass through for power and mounting compatibility. Know of any other dashcams that may help to keep the minimalist feel and not have to run another power cord?
Which Escort detector eliminates the vehicle blind spot monitor. Mainly the Honda, Acura, Pacifica, and Mazda vehicles? I have the Escort IX and it’s almost useless driving in local traffic? Thanks in advance for your reply.
None of them can do that completely unfortunately, but the Redline 360c will do it the best and rarely falses to those. It’s a HUGE improvement over the iX. It’s worth the upgrade for sure if you’re tired of your iX falsing constantly. bit.ly/2YaCNiW

I get the occasional false presumably from some BLIS, and an occasional auto door false, but have yet to have it go off letting me know about LE. I'm not sure if this unit's bad or if the LE out here are just using some other tactic. It has me pretty concerned about this thing though. I don't trust it at all so far. I'll try putting it on Highway for a while to see if it does anything. Already had 1,2,3,4 & 2,5,6,8 selected.

One question I have...at 19:11, you brought up the list of Ka Band Segments and if I look at GA, I see "2,5,6,8: Segment 6." I just got my Redline 360C and I’m not sure if I have it set up properly. My MPH posted speed limit shows up in the background color and not in white like my previous Escort detector or from all of the pictures I’ve seen of it. How do I set it up properly. It doesn’t display the posted speed limit most of the time. Most of the time it shows two dashes. My old Escort detector showed it displayed in white when I was connected by Bluetooth. I’m lost on how to fix it. Can you help me please?

Anyone have issues with the Redline 360c connecting to your iphones hotspot? I have everything set up (I think) correctly and my phones hotspot is turned on but every time I get in the car, for some reason I have to turn off and back my phones hotspot for the RD to connect. Sometimes I have to do that a few times before I see the left most MPH turn to white showing that I am connected. Any help is most welcome. Thanks

What lidar stealth mode? It is undetectable by radar detector detectors and is compatible with Escort's optional laser jamming system, but the Redline doesn't have any stealth capabilities for lidar.
@Vortex Radar I was told the stealth mode is undetectable when u pass a cop or when u get radar'd your good for a few seconds ? I know about the ZR5 diffusers there about 999$ which I'm ordering tomorrow, I just got the redline today and tried it out , definitely alerts well and I like the arrows
Hi. Just got a Redline. Seems great comapered to my old 9500ix. Just had a couple of issues. One is that I have the Over Speed Limit set to OFF, but I am getting alerts for even 1 mile over. I checked the setting both on the app and on the Redline itself and both indicate OFF. Anyone else with that experience? Also, I was hoping to extend the cord a bit so it doesn’t have to hang down across my windshield so I got a RJ11 coupler and a regular RJ11 phone cord and tried to plug it in but the Redline wouldn’t power up. All I got was an “alert” light on the smart cord, but no power to the Redline. (And yes, the coupler and the phone line are both 2 lines (4 wires)). Anyone with success with this? Thanks!

So why doesn't the redline 360 c ever just turn on the left or right side of the arrows if there's a signal? Like it only turns on the front or back lights. I've never once had it tell me if it's just coming from the left or right?
The “side” arrows aren’t really left and right. They’re usually transitionary as you pass from front to rear when the signal strength ahead and behind is very similar. The detector only has front and rear antennas. It doesn’t have left and right antennas.

You can run both apps at the same time. They don’t interact with each other, but you can have one or both backgrounded just fine. I like running both apps at once to get an extra layer of protection.
It does. However, soon as it gets a hit it posts on the Cloud. Not necessarily where the LEO is. Waze is way more accurate because of user based not signal based.
The way Escort's engineers explained it to me, it can operate that way, but it also takes into account as the signal ramps up as you get closer and then eventually gets weaker after you pass the source and it can put the location on the spot where the signal is strongest. I haven't tested this to verify myself though.

That’s a common knee-jerk reaction people before they explore the topic more deeply. I’ve done videos addressing both of those limitations and the workarounds, but it’s good to be aware of them regardless.
@@VortexRadar u have dug real deep into the subject for years. The laser jammer workfor the most part but the radar is a federal crime to jam. My state uses mostly radar for that reason. So no this is not a knee jerk response at all.

Nope, USB is just for updates, not settings changes.

I have a old passport 8500. I have blocked K and X band. Only receives KA and lidar. That's all law enforcement uses in CA.

If you cross into another state that doesn’t need KA segment 6 do you need to turn it off once in that state

It doesn’t display the posted speed limit most of the time. Most of the time it shows two dashes. My old Escort detector showed it displayed in white when I was connected by Bluetooth. I’m lost on how to fix it. Can you help me please?
With the newer Escort’s it’s only white when connected via WiFi. When connected via BT the speed limit shows up matching the display color.

Which parts are out of date? The main thing is that there’s now AutoJTK and rear jammer support, but that’s about it?

Nope, they are independent systems, but complementary. They work great side by side even if they don’t talk to each other.

Anyone have issues with the Redline 360c connecting to your iphones hotspot? I have everything set up (I think) correctly and my phones hotspot is turned on but every time I get in the car, for some reason I have to turn off and back my phones hotspot for the RD to connect. Sometimes I have to do that a few times before I see the left most MPH turn to white showing that I am connected. Any help is most welcome. Thanks

How does the Stealth mode work so when u get hit with LIDAR ? Does it not show your speed to the Cop ?
What lidar stealth mode? It is undetectable by radar detector detectors and is compatible with Escort's optional laser jamming system, but the Redline doesn't have any stealth capabilities for lidar.
@Vortex Radar I was told the stealth mode is undetectable when u pass a cop or when u get radar'd your good for a few seconds ? I know about the ZR5 diffusers there about 999$ which I'm ordering tomorrow, I just got the redline today and tried it out , definitely alerts well and I like the arrows

I use the redline 360 and got a ticket by laser. It didn’t pick up the laser. Anyone else have laser issues with their redline?

You can always check to see if the updated version of the app now has that option built-in, especially after I shot this video.

If you turn on Ka, it ignores the individual segments you set and scans all of Ka band.

Hi. Just got a Redline. Seems great comapered to my old 9500ix. Just had a couple of issues. One is that I have the Over Speed Limit set to OFF, but I am getting alerts for even 1 mile over. I checked the setting both on the app and on the Redline itself and both indicate OFF. Anyone else with that experience?
Also, I was hoping to extend the cord a bit so it doesn’t have to hang down across my windshield so I got a RJ11 coupler and a regular RJ11 phone cord and tried to plug it in but the Redline wouldn’t power up. All I got was an “alert” light on the smart cord, but no power to the Redline. (And yes, the coupler and the phone line are both 2 lines (4 wires)). Anyone with success with this? Thanks!
I did the same exact thing, except I ordered a J12 line and coupler instead of J11. Works perfectly.
How does the range compare to the Max 3690c with Ka band only? Ie. highway use.

J Dub I have the Max 360C as well. The redline does better (IMO)-especially for KA.

So why doesn't the redline 360 c ever just turn on the left or right side of the arrows if there's a signal? Like it only turns on the front or back lights. I've never once had it tell me if it's just coming from the left or right?
The “side” arrows aren’t really left and right. They’re usually transitionary as you pass from front to rear when the signal strength ahead and behind is very similar.
The detector only has front and rear antennas. It doesn’t have left and right antennas.

@VortexRadar Hopefully the next iteration of a new escort radar then get 4 antennas. That's kinda false advertising even tho the radar does pick up everything that's gone off for me. Still tho I mean that should seem like false advertising.

You can run both apps at the same time. They don’t interact with each other, but you can have one or both backgrounded just fine. I like running both apps at once to get an extra layer of protection.
It does. However, soon as it gets a hit it posts on the Cloud. Not necessarily where the LEO is. Waze is way more accurate because of user based not signal based.
The way Escort's engineers explained it to me, it can operate that way, but it also takes into account as the signal ramps up as you get closer and then eventually gets weaker after you pass the source and it can put the location on the spot where the signal is strongest. I haven't tested this to verify myself though.

That’s a common knee-jerk reaction people before they explore the topic more deeply. I’ve done videos addressing both of those limitations and the workarounds, but it’s good to be aware of them regardless.
@@VortexRadar u have dug real deep into the subject for years. The laser jammer workfor the most part but the radar is a federal crime to jam. My state uses mostly radar for that reason. So no this is not a knee jerk response at all.
