Quick tip to help G-Force sensation: Attach the belts to a fixed base on the floor not moving with the DBox. When you get pushed forward when braking, the belts will tighten up. same thing for lateral g force, just inverse the left and right strap in a cross pattern so when you turn right for example, he left strap will tighten up. shout out to Boosted Media for the tip
First of all welcome back @Biroo, nice to See you back in Simracing, I knew it, that you will come back sooners or later 😁 To further increase the Immersion you can also use an active belt tensioner like the Gbelt or PT Actuator Belt tensioner. For me personally I would Rate an active belt tensioner higher than Motion in terms of immersion. Can‘t wait to see you moving into the new House and Build a new Rig.
@@Biroo I am personally using the PT Belt tensioner, which Runs with the SRS Software which is not as much as Advanced as the Sim Commander Software for the gbelt. For now it only has sway, surge and heave effect, but I Know a lot of people using the gbelt and they are stunned by it. In the end it only tightens with the two belts around your shoulders and it is no g force what you feel, but it triggers your brain in that way, which is why I won‘t Miss it anymore. I‘d rather give up on Motion, than on the belt, but everything combined, especially in VR is the absolute experience.
Gosh, Biro! Can't wait to race with you again, man! Most fun sim racing moment to this day still is the "Goodwood Hillclimb" you put together! Great seeing some videos!
Hey man great to see u back, I run a motion rig the system is called Sigma Integrale DK2, it’s awesome and I’m coming from a DBox gen5, and the experience is practically the same for a fraction of the price, it’s worth a look mate
That’s a good suggestion! I heard of Sigma Integrale. What I realized while trying my friend’s setup is that we’re all quite different in what feels right when it comes to track and car feedback
@@Biroo yes I 100% agree, I had the same system as your mate originally, the problem I had with that system is VR tracking was a nightmare using my Varjo Aero as it uses base stations to track, I had nothing but issues form emi interference from the servo drives, I had to sell the system as it was unplayable, I suggest you do allot of research if u decide to go that root as I wish someone had advised me on these issues
I had a NLR V3, then I built the SFX-100 system. Tried them both together, but decided to move the V3 on and just use the actuators. Now I have also removed and sold my SFX system. I currently use a SimXperience G-belt combined with a high end tactile build. I much prefer my rig this way and am very happy that I've ended up with it this way.
@@Biroo I liked the V3 for what it was, I was happy with it. I had to try the SFX-100 build because it was just one of those things. I only sold the V3 because I did not think it was worth having them both together. In the end I had a few connectivity issues with the SFX (a number of things caused this, I think both from the system itself and perhaps my PC build as well) so I decided to be rid of it and go back to a static chassis. I do race competitively quite a lot and while I do love the immersion of these things, I actually feel much more comfortable driving the way the chassis is now compared to before. Motion was a nice side project to experience but I do feel I've made the correct decision to be back to a static cockpit.
@@anthcesana fair point. You see, for me the various motion factors help me with performance on track. For example how breaking feels on sections each lap helps me process how I perform. Feeling the level of leaning happening in a corner before loosing grip, having feedback when you lose traction. Now some of this stuff comes trough the wheel as well but various motion forces and vibrations in the rig helps amplify the feedback I need to get better with each lap.
@@adamlitchfield3371 I have 3 Clark TST 429s, 2 BK Concerts, 1 Earthquake Q10B and a pair of Dayton BST-2’s. Fully isolated (theoretically) from the rest of the chassis and then the chassis is also isolated from the floor with some heavy duty dampers that almost act as suspension.
Nice to see you back mate. I’m still rocking my nlrv3 but now with a g-belt and 12 transducers. Have tried a d-box and I would take my setup every time. I also moved from dd2 to simucube ha!
@@matthewscarborough4920 unfortunately i cant drill my seat because its a softshell... hw do you like the v3 + tensioner combination? if you would have to decide for only one, wich would it be?

nice video and great to see you back, just a technical note the camera is slow to focus on most of scenes, would be better to use higher F stop for infinite and real time focus
For thr braking, he prob has his "surge" tuned down. Too much surge and it'll make the rig buck easily when you don't have great traction. There's a sweet spot in there...
While I’m sure this feels awesome and all but I think it’s obsolete compared to the yaw2 in vr. The pitch up/down and roll degrees are way more than this. Going up the mountain in Bathurst or banking in a track feels like the real thing because it matches what you see in VR. Paired with a good bass shaker, it’s the real deal and far cheaper.
Hi mate, great to see you getting into motion. I have the Prosimu 3dof and I think you should think about traction loss as when you feel it it really does help. My favourite example is how the car feels at Paul Ricard on the two sweeping right corners at the end of the long straight. I dance on the edge of grip and I am actually very competitive to the really fast guys on that sector. Looking forward to seeing the journey into motion.
I think one of the complete systems I shared as links has a traction loss module you can buy as an addition. My NLR v3 chair mover felt really good in corners but I never experience a traction loss system.
I have a 3 DOF reality and an index but it's set up for a Heli witch is a bit of a waste coz when I nail a hover (which I can) it's not moving. I think after I move house I will go back to static and shaker on the flight sim and set up a racing sim on the 3 DOF. Then again I already have a pretty good racing "sim". It's called a Mazda Miata.
@@Biroo I would recommend that you join PCA (Porsche Club of America). It's under $50 a year. You will start off doing a Skills day on a skid pan and cones and all that. They are run maybe 4 times a year depending on where you live and cost about $100 ish for the day. Then you get cleared to go on the track with an instructor and I think that's about maybe $200 including a lunch. Prob about 3 or 4 20 min track sessions. The other expense is to get your car checked out which is mandatory and they check brakes and suspension tires etc. I would usually get a new set of pads and flush brake fluid coz you can literally go through an entire stet of new pads in one day with just enough left to limp home. So another $200 for that or do some of it yourself and save a bit. PCA is a voluntary organization so I would do a track day that then spend the next track day picking up cones and waving flags and helping out. That's what makes it work and makes it affordable.
