  • Hi, this video shows you how to use a wired Ethernet Network connection on your Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod.
This might be useful if the Wi-Fi has stopped working on your device or if you want a quicker more stable connection for gaming or downloading.
You will need to buy 2 adapters to make it work.
    Many thanks, Vince

Thank you! I wanted to do this with my iPad for so long, but it never worked until now! I hadn't realised that I needed a charger with a higher ampere - I'd used the one with the lower output. It's fine for charging, but not for the Ethernet connection. I'm so grateful for this video!

I almost bought one of those adapters on Amazon. Then I saw your video and never thought about having the adapter with the charging port also. I’ve decided to connect my iPhone and iPad to my router or modem to see if I can get a better connection. I live in a rural area and I’m getting frustrated with my satellite Internet connection. So I’m going to try and use it wired instead of Wi-Fi. If that doesn’t work, I might buy a Wi-Fi booster. But if this works I can use it at home where I need it. Thanks for sharing. Now to find the adapter you have. If not on Amazon, then I guess at Apple.

this is a perfect solution for Kiosks and generally lounging areas of the house that you could benefit from improved connectivity. Also one might for an iPhone enable "WiFi Calling" however as the name implies it may require it to be on "WiFi" though I bet it only needs a network connection. That would be worth checking out.

30% of the population has emf sensitivity. There are pubmed articles and journal articles about the physiological damage that is caused by Wi-Fi and emf. The public is naive. Wired is always better. No one thought smoking was bag either or high fructose corn syrup but the scientists all did...there's usually a 10-15year lag to get to the public.

@Mátyás Vitos You dont know what youre talking about if you think RF is not also harmful. WiFi is RF just like a cell phone, the whole "non ionizing" bullshit is literal propganda. Out of indepdentent full studies, around 65% show harm to the body on a cellular level. Not this "heating tissue" bullshit they measure with SAR which is not the ONLY way something can be harmful. Magnetic, Electric AND RF are all harmful

Great video! Do you know if it is possible to connect an Ethernet cable + a usb audio interface at the same time? I currently connect a usb audio interface to my iPhone using the usb camera adapter + a powered usb hub. This works fine. Ideally however, I also want to connect to the router by connecting an Ethernet adapter into the usb hub. This way I can use both the audio interface whilst also having the benefits of a hardwired internet connection. Will all this work? My main concern is whether the iPhone can actually handle more than one usb input? Hope that all makes sense and would really appreciate some advice before I go and invest in an Ethernet adapter and a long Ethernet cable! Thanks!

My problem with Bluetooth tho is games with guns the gun shots are very painful on the ears but that could be the mid priced headphones.

I have tested every bit that I can but when I connect the UGreen USB 2.0 network adaptor I am not getting a message about the power requirement. The lights don't come on either.
My question is in your case do the network adapter lights come on when you connect it? Mine don't. I'm charging the Camera adapter from my MacBook Pro USB.
I shall try this on a later model iPhone if I can borrow one!

You can use a USB hub which uses its own power adapter

That seems expensive for the Apple adapter.

The iPad Pro big one I don’t know the inches supports usb 3.0 so the usb Ethernet adapter that has usb 3 should work on the biggest iPad pro

Also, I would assume you are losing less packets with a wired connection. This is game breaking.

The reason why the 3.0 does not work is because you do not have a USB 3 device. iPad Pros have 3.0

My setup using Camera Connection Kit and USB Ethernet adapter is running really slow at just 30Mb/s/8Mb/s. As it's a 10/100 Ethernet with no Gigabit support it should still run faster than this as my VMB line is 384/30. It could be the Apple USB Ethernet adapter.
