Hi I'm about to work on this, I saw in manual that the bolt at 10 size on the slave cylinder, in the video I see that it is 5 HEX.. as well some more details about the way the cylinder should go out and back would be great.. it looks like the tricky part
It is really hard to get a camera up in that spot to see exactly how it goes in. You just kind of have to wiggle and move ir around until you can get it out the bottom and watch out for the green neutral wire
Seeing that has those cobra slasher pipes on it. I haven't heard people say to good of comments on them. I got a spare pair when I bought my 02. It has the stage 7 dyna kit on it. So I put them on and it sounds like a race engine and I think it's faster, but hard to tell. What is your opinion?
I am not a fan of them . I like the looks and sound but that is it every one I have seen on a Dyno lost power. I doubt it's faster just making more noise . I'm not sure why someone put a stage 7 on without a full header it is overkill and would run better stock.
Good video! Question for you: I’ve been having trouble getting into neutral gear from 2nd gear. It’s gotten progressively worse and now it refuses. Is that the realm of the slave cylinder? Should I 1st bleed the clutch system? If problem remains then change out the slave cylinder? Or is might there be a more serious transmission problem.
@@crazyasscaptain ok, 2003, needs a fluid change for sure, shop guy also said to grease the pivot on shifter and replace brass pivot in hand clutch lever. It has 14k miles of which 6k were mine
@ronaldhogg659 I asked about year model because the earlier models had a crappy made shift segment that caused problems. Fluid is really supposed to be changed at least every 2 years. I hope flushing it out solves your problems
@@crazyasscaptainwell just did the fluid changes and bleeding. Having trouble finding neutral, when I do find it, I can than get it in 1st gear, but lose it and stay stuck in 2nd gear. I hear the shifter lever touchy, but I removed it and couldn’t get to neutral, what to explore next? 0:07
Seeing all those VMax, I'm actually jealous
Hey, you're Captain Kyle on the forum!!!
Yep
You really do know this bike, well done
Thank you 👍 I just got a new to me 1999 vmax and its got no response from the clutch lever. This doesn't look terrible to have to do.
Great job!! You have a video on replacement of a starter clutch, on vmax?
All I have is one of me pulling the flywheel

I would try bleeding the clutch and see if it helps. It is kind of hard to diagnose without having the bike. What year is your bike ?

My 88 Vmax only fires on 2 cylinders.
