Im cultivating Agarwood in my farmland in south India and I love how they use it for perfumes here.
Oud is quite strong for everyday use, but somehow it’s so amazing to smell
I think musk is better.
Oud is definitely one of my favorite notes
I love oud blended oils. You need only a drop to make you smell great. Two drops will make your entire home smell 'Arabic'. Three drops will make some people faint. Choose the best blend you personally prefer because you won't spend a lot on perfume you don't like. I bought my first oud blend oil in Mecca (it's a cheap one but smells great) and I love it until now.

Had a Syrian friend that brought over a very small glass of what he called "Arabian perfume" that supposedly cost $300. Opened it and a small amount of the oily fragrance got on to my finger, washed it off, didn't stop smelling good for over 3 days. That was long ago and now that I'm more knowledgable about fragrance, I'm quite positive that was oud.

Yes we buy it because it is what the true fragrance is all about. It dosen't matter how high is the price is . Only matters is it pure and is it smell nice. We use it when our Eid or any types of festivals.
Agarwood can be found in Malaysia too and there are a few enterprises growing it on a large scale.

Perhaps the smell of smoked wood resin is appealing to those who live specific to that region. I can only imagine the perfume as very masculine and heady how charming. One might be inclined to think the flowers would be the perfume preference of ladies in any region.

Have you smelled oud? It smells incredible in womens perfume. Mixed with other notes like vanilla, it creats a heady, smokey, spicy, sexy smell that lasts. I hate floral scents- they smell like old ladies and give me a headache.

Real oud is not always smoky and it is not found in UAE either. They are the top consumers however oud is taken from Asia (cambodia, vietnam, malaysia, brunei, india and many more)
Royal Oud is one of my favourite perfumes. Strangengly, but no oud note is declared in pyramid.

If you check out the blend of Tom ford you will notice there isnt any oudh in it.

I remember how Oud or Agarwood traders from Manipur, my home state in India became millionaires as there was a high demand for it in the Middle East. Unfortunately, the tree is almost extinct in the state now due to over extraction and deforestation.

It smells nice. And I've been to arab cafes. But there are no women there. No flirting, no game, no seduction, no mystery. And the fragrances are like that, but they have the strength and they are impressive. And good craftmnaship, quality products

The beauty of oud is how it occurs naturally. To infect a tree with a parasite and make it rot from the inside slowly for decades, while it cannot grow itself or grow any fruits or flowers and just tries to fight the infection to ultimately die off, is just cruel.

I was born there buddy and we’re not talking about over inflated prices that have been a fairly recent occurrence, Oud in general is not an expensive product in the Middle East it is in fact frowned on and considered a scent for the poorer people. So don’t try to make it sound like everyone who uses oud is filthy rich.

I’ve been amassing a fragrance collection for a little over 2 years now and I’ve STILL yet to smell anything with oud.
If you can get Amber Aoud by Roja Dove you will have the crown jewel of Oud fragrances imo. If you want something a bit less expensive, MFK Oud Silk Mood is another great oud-rose combination. Give them a try.

agarwood isnt real oud, the real oud is from Yemen/Somalia aka Frankincense and Myrrh, agarwood is from southeast Asia.
Frankincense is known in Arabic as luban meaning milked because of how it is excreted like milk from the frankincense tree and other resins are also called luban because of their similarity to frankincense. It's history is much older than oud. Oudh literally means wood and the oil in oudh is so thick that it doesn't even have to be extracted as resin from the tree but sometimes the wood itself can be burned as incense. In fact the oil inside is so thick that it can sink in water. The lute of the region is also called oudh because it's made of wood. So yes ... agarwood is the real oudh.
Oud can be found at most southeast asia and my country is one of the export oud to middle east. If i go to middle east and want to buy oud and the seller know where im from they will not sell it to me. It happen to me once when im went to saudi. They said i can get it in my country but its easy to find extract not the wood in here. Because selling it to middle easy made easy money for them and they pay high price compare selling it at their hometown.

india the land of oud, before 2000 year ago when other World is not even know what fregnace' is we are using oud, oil base perfumes but sad just like other things we don't appriciate what we have,now same thing were using in other brand perfumes with high prices and now they said its luxurious..
