Congratulations! I vividly remember my emotions when I applied to Cambridge for my PhD. My supervisor had said to me after the first interview that he was willing to recommend me for admission and funding, but that there was no guarantee that I would get either accepted or funded. Two agonising months and another interview followed, at the end of which I found out that I had been accepted at my first choice college and had got full funding. That was one of the best days of my life. I was going back home after my second interview and, while still on the train to Leeds, an email came. Initially, I said to myself that I would open it when I got home, but I couldn't resist the temptation, so I opened it and, watching you now, I recollect having literally the same reaction. For a few seconds, I lived that precious moment again.
Oh wow that must be something special getting full funding and your first choice college!! I’m not surprised with such a decision that you couldn’t wait to open it!!
Ahahaha, I would have to disagree. I guess the best university will be decided at the infamous boat race on Sunday (although Cambridge has won more times)!!
Congratulations! I've been watching your videos to keep up with your journey while in the same boat as you for a while. I was recently accepted to start my Postgraduate Studies in Biological Anthropological Sciences (MRes, and PhD after) at Cambridge. As an American student navigating the admissions process differences, figuring out the difference in what you call a college vs. what we do, and getting a research supervisor was extremely intimidating! I was also rejected by Kings College (my 2nd choice) and Trinity College (my first choice, I dared to dream lol) before being taken by Girton College which while a bit further out (2 miles from the main campus ) seems to b rather lovely with 50+ acres of gardens, orchards, and grounds. Now is the fun stages of waiting to hear back from funding competitions for busaries, studenships, and grants. I assume you are waiting ont he same and wish you luck!
Thank you!! Congrats to you too!!! Tbf I nearly chose Girton when I applied for my undergrad, but ended up going with trinity hall. So I know it’s a nice college!! But yeah now just the wait for funding to come back!!
@@thatonecharlie the funding wait is definitely one of the most difficult parts of the process! It's so culturally different, in the US you know as soon as your accepted what kind of funding you'll receive -- the suspended suspense is definitely new. Thankfully my conditions for admission are totally manageable though!
Congrats my guy! Determination and hard works from 2017!! I expectedly will be at Cambridge as welll this autumn for MPhil in Economics, hope to see you there!
Oh gosh wow, I am so happy for you! I have never watched any of your videos before but even after just 6 minutes and 57 seconds of knowing you I can tell you deserve this. This is my dream, too, honestly I cannot even begin to comprehend that feeling you must have experienced.
@@thatonecharlie ahh thank you! There’s a teacher at my school who went to Cambridge for her PGCE and she’s been a massive inspiration and has helped me a lot.
Congratssssss!!! This makes me so unbelievably happy, that you are finally able to study what you wanted to since your A-levels video. Absolutely fantastic. I recently also got accepted to Cambridge for undergraduate studies. Hope to see you in Cambridge in October 🙃🥳
Congratulations!! It’s crazy because I randomly came across your video (my first time on your channel) and at first I was just happy to see that you were accepted. THEN I got to the colleges part and realized that we got accepted to the same college-have a MPhil offer for catz this October too! I’m not 100% sure that I will attend, but it’s still cool that we might both be there haha. Congrats again!
Yeah I got accepted Cambridge too for Postgraduate in Hebrew studies . Was moving countries and caring for three months old baby and mom so I couldn’t rejoice as much but it’s great feeling though. Also is not so glamorous as it sounds. I study like 8 hours a day with very little breaks and sometimes 6 days a week. Don’t apply if you not ready :)
Congrats bro, I am still waiting.. however I know of some people who got an offer to da a MPhil as well but were not required for an interview, I guess it variates depending on the subject?
In my day, we got letters. I had a good feeling about my letter, because it was fat. A rejection letter is a single piece of paper. An acceptance letter comes with all kinds of extra information.
Congratulations Charlie!! My heart was literally beating so fast when I watched you open the email haha :p Getting into Cambridge for a postgrad degree is even more harder than applying for undergrad imo, so it was so encouraging to see that you have made it this far! Wish you all the best in striving for your desirable results! Can't wait for videos about ur life in Cambridge ;))
Ahaha I was so nervous too!! I actually think undergrad is more difficult. Perhaps it’s cause I got rejected at undergrad and accepted for my postgrad!!
I went to Homerton. Pleanty of terrible people to meet in Cambridge. They're practically unavoidable. The obvious segregation shocked me. All the nationalities kept together. The Irish lot were loud, jesus...

Thank you!! And I never thought I had a calming voice 😂
Congrats for getting into the second best university!
Sincerely, an Oxford PhD student :D

You love to see it. Amazing resilience to have come so far since the undergrad rejection. I'll be a fresher at Clare in October so see you around!
I really appreciate that. Sometimes you got to keep trying even when they initially tell you no!! Congrats on getting in too

Congratulations bruh 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank youu
Congrats bro, I am still waiting.. however I know of some people who got an offer to da a MPhil as well but were not required for an interview, I guess it variates depending on the subject?
Yeah I think it really depends on the department. I guess the ASNC department are small so have the resources to interview everyone should they wish!
You got this, congrats!!
Let’s hope so!!
Could you make a video the difference between previous time and Nowadays's experience??
Do you mean between applying to Cambridge now versus undergrad?
@@thatonecharlie What is the difference between when you applied to Cambridge in the past and when you applied this time?
Brilliant!
Congrats man! This is great news.
Thanks!! Appreciate it
I’m a current undergraduate ASNaC at Catz, congratulations!
Ahhh that’s so cool!! Thank you

Tbf I wish we still got letters, would be a much more exciting way of finding out!!
Catz... right next door to King's... congrats, m8. God bless.
