Just changed my canister today. Now I don’t need to cut it open to see what it’s made of. Pellets poured out of it when I disconnected the hoses and took it off the Tahoe. The old one weighed at least twice as much as the new one, I assume because the charcoal was saturated with fuel.

The system is supposed to suck all the fumes absorb by the filter medium back up to your fuel air intake system and burn them. it's probably all the dirt and other crap that got into the filter that make it way more than a new one. Possibly even upgraded carbon filter medium that weighs less and takes less to do the same job.

So... Flushing one out with the garden hose and high pressure air nozzles only serves to further perforate those two internal screens.
When these get full of dirt, Replace them.

Or after cleaning just push new filter material into the nipples on the canister. Replacing my canister is over $100.You can just rebuild your old canister, for $20 or so and even upgrade the inside materials. The smaller filter canister is $40 new , top just pops off replace the filter material .again even upgrade the filter material for $5.So I can save $150 or so and have upgraded filters.

So I can just cut the bottom off carefully empty out the charcoal. Then replace the cloth filter at the top, even upgrade it a bit. Then use stove top vent filters to replace the old charcoal stuff. Glue the bottom back on and just saved $100 or more . You could probably skip the cloth filter at the top of you had to because the replacement carbon absorption filters you're using I already prepackaged just fold it in nice and neat and you're ready to go. I saw you pop the top off the smaller filter and remove that messed up filter. Why not just replace that filter material as well. That saves me another $40 and again improve the filter as well.

Hello, do you know how much activated carbon is needed?

Mate are you always this rough as guts? You got Crap everywhere & destroyed the canister in the process.
You could have opened that canister neatly and even used it again if you had done this properly.
It costs $10 bucks for a 1.5 kilo bucket of activated Carbon/Charcoal and you could have replaced the smelly old stuff and reused the canister.
I have opened & cleaned many of them and have always been able to close them up tight and reuse.

How were you able to replaced the pellets and then put it back together?

Eso no es limpiar , eso es desarmar y el canister ya es inservible

If you don't see the "CC" button then you can also find it in the "Gear" menu I think.

We replaced this one with a new one. This one was clogging up the vent lines with carbon debris.

Bestia esos granulos son carbon activado, encargados de retener los gases del tanque de combustible. pero tu crees que esos granulos son un residuo y que toca retirarlos. que locura de mecanico 🤦‍♀
