That's because they share a common ancestor, the Inuit, Eskimo, Pazavick now extinct, Yakut from Siberia. everyone else in Europe is descended from the Indo-Europeans.

I'd imagine the Saami have SOME Proto-Indo European ancestry.

This American of Swedish and French Canadian decent, took part in National Geographic's genome project, and one of my strongest indigenous links is to the Sami people... PLEASE PLEASE, protect another indigenous being. Susie! and other European wolves. Indigenous peoples are supposed to be the strongest protector of our earth.. Prove it! Let Susie and the other wolves be!

is it just me or does this song kind of remind me of the Native America song Ly-O-Lay Ale Loya (Circle Dance). Which is interesting since both cultures are from different parts of the world. Still both songs have some what of a resemblance

The song was based on sámi joiking
By the band who made the song
are an authentic Sami yoik ("Normo Jovnna" by Terje Tretnes), recorded in 1994 by Dutch Channel 4 during an interview as an example of a yoik

Very simple:from the saami/finnisch peoples goes a belt over whole norther&middle siberia&mongolia to tbe bering sea ,all these herding&hunting&fisching tribes&peoples are related to the native american peoples:saami komi nenets altai turckic mongolian kets yakutians have different languaes but in deepest a common culture that based on herding hunting fishing and more or less nomadic, and are nearer to the native americans than to the european culture off agriculture.
