They are a dancing and singing group. I would describe them as one of the most eclectic groups when it comes to their music, they don't really belong to a single genera, so far, I have seen them doing pop, rock, alternative, jazz, rap, hip-hop, disco, and even a hard metal collaboration. Even though many of their lyrics touch on serious and delicate subjects, their music is almost always fun, and even clownish. Also, they have unlocked charisma level 100, it is a whole experience watching them live.
None of them are playing instruments. They sing, dance, create the choreography and write or co-write the lyrics. The four members are Suzuka (with glasses), Kanon (long hair), Mizyu (twin tails) and Rin. Even though they don't play instruments they are absolutely fantastic live.
Their collaboration with Maximum the Hormone, Shimi is by farrrrrr my favorite video in years. AG do not play instruments but sing, dance and perform. They are off the chain live. Suzuka (glasses) is absolutely insane live, crowd surfing, literally walking balcony rails, going into middle of crowds and riding fans through the crowd. As others have said they have no genre but are metal as fuck in attitude and have many metal fams (me included).
Atarashii Gakko "New School" were formed in 2015 by the Japanese talent agency Asobisystem. They are a song and dance group and do all the choreography themselves and write a lot of the lyrics, but don't play instruments and work with producers on the music. They have worked on several songs with Money Mark. AG! consist of Suzuka, Mizyu, Rin and Kanon. Suzuka (tallest and with glasses) is the natural on stage front woman because of her strong voice and extrovert personality and she mostly sings the lead, but as you heard Rin does a lot of the rapping and then Kanon and Mizyu sing the more melodic parts. In 2020 they joined 88Rising to break into the international markets and in 2023 they went viral on Tik-Tok with the song "Otona Blue" and have since released a new album called "AG! Calling" and completed a 25 city World Tour in October 2024. The credits in the official MV don't say who the band members are, although they do credit Kentu Matsukuma with composition and lyrics. SCRAMBLES is a group that KM leads. The _only_ reason I know that it was specifically SCRAMBLES that did the music for this song is that I found a xweet (included below) announcing the collaboration.
