What they are doing is providing legitimate criticism on how John Morris has been treated by Cronulla. It's all pretty fair commentary for mind.

    The coach is not the problem. The Sharks have been carrying a lot of dead wood on their roster for some years now. You have to feel sorry for Morris but that being said, now is as good a time as any for a major cleanout from top to bottom. Good luck to Fitzgibbon . At this stage I think he will need it.

    • @gtmorgan4323
      @gtmorgan4323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah dead wood like Matt Moylan who’s on $900k a season and Josh Dugan who’s on $900k this season and those two players are coming off contract so John Morris never got the chance to have money available to spend on players he wanted instead Craig Fitzgibbon will get that opportunity and that’s a damn shame

    • @gtmorgan4323
      @gtmorgan4323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly think John Morris was just a long term interim coach and I think the Sharks was just waiting for this point all along and John Morris wasn’t there to sign players or make the team his own he was just there to coach the team up until this point so they could sign a better option to coach this team and now they think they have that better option in Craig Fitzgibbon and Fitzgibbon will now have around 5 million dollars to spend for next season and beyond

    • @Daniel-dg3np

      The entire history of Cronulla is hardly that of a top club. I suspect the chopping and changing within the club is only going to push them in one direction. Average of past 15 years is 8-9th position.

  • @troystaunton254
    @troystaunton254 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Why do people think Fitzgibbon is gonna be a good coach?
    Because he was a good player??? The top 3 coaches in the nrl right now. Craig Bellamy (a fringe first grader at best) Trent Robinson (pretty much a reserve grader) Wayne Bennett (a fringe rep player.) the nrl is one of the few sports on earth that pretends being a good player is a requirement for being a good coach. It’s not it’s nothing but an excuse to give some good ol boys a job because you underpaid em at the end of their career.
    In contrast the nfl has head coaches who went to college then became coaches they started preparing for the job at 22. Some are the most respected in the game at 35.
    Is it because he’s been an assistant at the roosters?? Cool assistant coach and head coach aren’t the same thing. It’s like saying because I work in construction I’m going to succeed as an architect. I might but my being good at my current job is not the same thing.
    I sincerely hope Fitzgibbon goes well, success stories are far better than failures. But the idea that Fitzgibbon is a better coach’s and can attract player bec20 years ago he and Hindmarsh and ricketson formed nsw’s greatest backrow is just wishing on a star.

    As Sharks fan, I am excited about Fitzgibbon next year.
    But our club handled the whole situation badly.
    Everyone likes to talk about the big 6 clubs, they do not handle situations like this.
    Telling coach on Monday no decision has been made, then on Tuesday he is gone.
    Not exactly a professional way to handle things. Also as incoming coach seeing this mess unfold.
    You would not believe anything the board said.

      John Morris done a good job considering he got them to the finals 2 years in a row and considering he hasn’t had the money available to sign players he wants because Dugan and Moylan and Fifita ain’t worth what there on atm and your marquee player Johnson hasn’t played yet and so John Morris has had to blood in a lot of rookies over the past two seasons and imo he’s built a good team with what he’s had available to him

    When kenty said their a middle of the table club he exactly proved ikin and crawleys point. The sharks in so many areas there cap is screwed. Fines in place reserve grade quality players on big money and yet John Morris has gotten that team who quite honestly on paper could be argued as a bottom 8 side to the finals 2 years out of 2. He has blooded new players and made them good enough to get to the finals. Just when he can come in and spend money on bringing in new players that he wants and getting rid of the sack of potato’s on big money he gets fired. You ask me it’s got nothing to do with him being a good bloke it’s to do with the fact that you just sacked the man that has gotten your club in a much better position than they would’ve been with 90% other coaches, and they had the audacity to sack him

    The club is more successful off field today because of council rezoning. It's not because of the chairman and the CEO. The land they developed has been proposed to council for over 40 years.

    NRL 360 Kent & Hoops should get there facts right on Reynolds saying that he was unhappy the way negotiations went at the sharks crap.These Media people are have zero idea what went on with the meeting where ever there getting the info from better shoot the messenger who gave them the lies.Maybe Kent or NRL 360 should ask Dino to come on the show and he will inform them of the truth.

    Seriously, 0 and 11 against the top teams. I’m yet to see john Morris drop a ball repeatedly give away penalties not play well blah blah. Ffs what’s fitzy done, a great assistant at the roosters etc I recall Trent Barrett being the next gun coach bahahahahaha.
    What they really expect Cronulla to excel under fitzy?
    Seriously you have too feel for Morris but being knifed in the back is part and parcel

    It is amazing how clubs ditch a coach who builds a premiership contending team. Roosters did with Graham Murray and next year Ricky Stuart wins the premiership. It has happened to Anthony Griffin at the Broncos for Bennett and Penrith for Ivan Cleary. Good luck to the coaches who inherit the rosters built up by the previous coaches. Griffin must be a good coach if you look at the results versus the expectations of the 'Experts" for the Dragons this year. Do not know if he is a pork chop or not but to be successfull the club as a whole needs to be harmonious and if your club isn't doing too well then there are things going on that are not being exposed to the public which are dividing the club.
