This actually saved my butt!! I was having nothing but problems with two of my client websites getting mail delivered through Outlook accounts no matter what we did. There is no "MAKE EXTERNAL" option anymore only "PUBLISH APP" is this the same or what should I do?
If Google changed their page then you can follow the publishing steps, it should have you specify during the publishing process that you want it to be external.

1. You should be able to set up your domain address on Gmail so you can use that as your email.

During the login prompt in the 'Allow Plugin' section, do I have to login from my workspace account?
You would want to be logged in for it.
Great tutorial! I set up everything as explained. However, I still wasn't getting notified. Turns out they went to my sent box because the From email was myself! I'm using Google Workspace so it's not really feasible to create a separate account just so I can receive those emails. I'd like to keep it within my domain so I don't want to use my personal email either. Any tips?

It worked perfectly until the last step. When I click pas the "Google hasn't verified this app" page, and click continue, it redirects me to a wordpress error page. It's a blank page that just says "Not available".

For me I didn't have to do this step. it was already external. So I just moved it from test to production.

Do you have to set up the Client ID using the Google account ? For instance I’m creating this for a client.
You would need to set it up using Google so it may be best to walk the client through how to set it up.
What should be used where required by the organization?
That should give a list of options or no option depending on if you use workspaces or not. You would choose based on the options that you have available.

When I save the settings a button called, "Allow plugin to send emails using your Google account," does not populate. It is not under the Client ID/Client Secret as in this video. Any thoughts on this?

Dear WPForms, it seems the google has changed something and this doesn't work , because when entering any domain with "/" it gives: "Invalid domain: must be a top private domain" :( (google workspace, but tried on personal google account as well). Any recommandations?

Be sure you're not in the Javascript section.
Went through and everything seemed to work fine, however I am now stuck with sending my emails out from my gmail account and not my website email. There is no way to change it now as the gmail is the only option to click from the SMTP settings.

It doesn’t work for me it says access blocked 🚫 error 401 - i’ve doubled checked everything and did as instructed…

If you mean on your SMTP connection then we would recommend reaching out to WP Mail SMTP's support and they should be able to take a look and assist!

You would want to check the scopes of your API if you added there as that is likely where it would require Google's approval before you can publish. If you didn't add anything there you may want to try creating the API again in case this is a hiccup on Google's end.

Is a google workspace subscription required ?
Unless Google has made a very recent change, you should not need a workspace subscription
It shows theres a problem while sending the test email. How do I fix it ?

completed the setup with no issues, but there is no "Email Test" option in the tab or anywhere that i can find.
Please be sure to check under the tools tab for the plugin settings.

If you mean a license key for our plugin then you would need to purchase it from our site. You would not need a license key to set up SMTP for our plugin.

Can this be used on multiple websites?
While possible, it is normally best practice to create new credentials for each site.
