What you're all missing is those old days when You were younger, had fewer worries, fewer responsibilities and could focus an entire chunk of your life to a badass video game.
It's a lot of work but pretty fun. I try and find all the most photogenic areas of the maps with an artistic camera angle, trying to include the sky or moon in the shot if I can. Some UT99 maps are so small it's hard to get a lot of footage, so I end up just filming a pair of boots or something hah
Modern games are too deep in the uncanny valley for me, and are also overstimulating to me with unnecessary post-processing. Unreal was the pinnacle/end of its late 90s era of game tech, and will forever be my favorite era. Nothing beats its charm
Because call of duty, overwatch, team fortress 2 and fortnite changed the game industry from getting random experience from one genre into same cliche monster with donations, skins and more slow pacing movement.
a lot of these new games order large teams of musicians to make it sound like a big movie film....In my opinion it's too polished and perfect....like it's trying to appeal to a larger boarder audience
Not sure how to write a proper comment to this. But this represents something very meaningful in my childhood and my life till now and forever... Thanks for the video
Michiel van den Bos and Alexander Brandon are amazing. UT99 and Deus Ex still have some of the best music I've heard in any game all these years later, and they're timeless - you could reproduce them with modern software and I don't think people would generally be able to tell most of these tracks were made in the 90's, except a few tracks like the bar music in Deus Ex. It's really indicative of passion and creativity. You could tell they were really into these games, at least as ideas, and that the end results meant a lot to them.
3 hours of my shift just vanishes when I stick this on at work, another 2 loops and I'm done with my shift without even realising, pure magic. Song slaps way harder than most popular techno tracks. 10/10
OMG, so many pros started with that, I can feel the time turning back! Thank you so much for uploading! Actually with that female instructor voice it made it even more professional :)
If you listen closely, you can hear the raindrops on Vandaron 3, which is said to be the wettest place in the galaxy due to the constant rain. Give yourself a pair of thick socks, cup of coffee and a flak cannon and enjoy the ultimate hygge.
The music sets the perfect mood for Vandaron 3. I actually never played this map back in the day but knew I had to record it for The Course, and as soon as I spawned and saw that rainy window I knew I made the right choice. Love this map now.
I like to think that in the Unreal universe this is the theme song for the Tournament that all the home viewers hear during the premieres, with like a montage of past match highlights.
Great screensaver material also! I subbed man I really hope you do more Unreal/UnrealTournament ost. Also the songs of Unreal and Unreal Tournament have unused patterns which play completely new music.
Thank you very much for your efforts in helping keep this excellent piece of history alive, even when Epic is doing all it can to pretend their history never even existed.
When your comment popped up I did not know which video you commented on until I went into the app, but I challenged myself by guessing which video you were talking about and I guessed correctly. The main loop in The Course just rips
Welcome to Deathmatch combat training. Deathmatch is a sport in wich you complete against other gun-wielding players in a fast free-for-all. The object is to destroy all of your enemies by any means necessary.
Nice work man. I used to play UT - TDM, DM and FFA oh and RA like crazy - i loved the music. Ive been wanting to make my own UT99-esque tracks for over 20 years now! Maybe this vid here will finally get me to start it. Ty for this.
Puedo escucharlo por horas una y otra vez y no me aburre en otras palabras es un soundtrack excelente y muy bien hecho me encanta escoger los escenarios que tienen está música, y actualmente a día de hoy sigo jugando el ut99!
Missed your content! Excellent space-city music, very Blade Runner! Are the 5: Tutorial Map, Dreary Outpost, Guardia, Gothic, and Nucleus? Not too sure about gothic, but it has the archs.
Feels good to be back. My viewer traffic plummeted in mid-August, probably due to vacations, etc. Now I have to start feeding the bloodthirsty algorithm again. Good guess on Gothic, as that one with the arches is actually DM-Bishop. The others you guessed are right!
@@VintageModernRemixes DM_Bishop? I've never played that map, is it added with one of the many expansion packs? I'll make extra long comments to appease the eldritch lord Al-gorith'um
Ohh good call, Bishop is indeed in one of the official bonus packs. And yes we all must bow to lord Al-gorith'um, unfortunately. I've noticed the number of likes on comments drives up traffic too, like one guy left a cunnilingus joke on my video for "Go Down", and got dozens of likes, and then that video immediately blew up with tons of views. So it turns out the success of the channel is possibly driven by dirty jokes. 🙃
@VintageModernRemixes 1:24 of run, the drop with the high pitch sound, it's very different in the original run song and it sounds better in the original in my opinion, you did a nice reproduction but I don't like how it sounds compared to the original (listening on beyerdynamics DT 900 Pro X)
Already on my todo list, which I wrote as "Cannonade with DOM-Condemned footage" a while ago. Time to bump it up to higher priority because, clearly, it is what the people demand.
I really don't get the CSotN OST but the UT99 one aged like fine wine, same as Deus Ex. The fact the OST made an overall boring shooter like Unreal bearable is a statement to the greatness of these tracks. Even Tyrian OST kicked asses as far as I'm concerned.
I haven't played UT, but aside from it being used in the tutorial level (based on the comments), is this used elsewhere in the game? Also, heh, heh, stained glass.
I always liked how the game gives you nudity within seconds into the tutorial map. 👀 This song can be heard in: AS-Guardia, DM-Bishop, CTF-Nucleus, CTF-Dreary, and DM-Agony.
Nostalgia is such a great/horrible feeling man. I miss those days. Miss when games were like this.
So true. I do miss the days where you had to install patches yourself, of course after you spend half the day downloading it over 56k. 📞
UT still exists.
There's still great games. You just have to learn to dig through the crap "AAA" games and find indie gems
What you're all missing is those old days when You were younger, had fewer worries, fewer responsibilities and could focus an entire chunk of your life to a badass video game.
Back when epic was small and actually made good games
the art of creating a track that indeed doesn't get boring in a 3 hrs loop
It's a lot of work but pretty fun. I try and find all the most photogenic areas of the maps with an artistic camera angle, trying to include the sky or moon in the shot if I can. Some UT99 maps are so small it's hard to get a lot of footage, so I end up just filming a pair of boots or something hah
I swear I'm not the nostalgic type, but why do these older games look so much cooler than modern ones? And sound so much better too.

Look up the term"enshittyfication" by Croy Doctorow, that should explain. It's about corporate pandering to trends and investors.
a lot of these new games order large teams of musicians to make it sound like a big movie film....In my opinion it's too polished and perfect....like it's trying to appeal to a larger boarder audience
Thanks for the recommendation on Cory Doctorow, I've been listening to him
Hi, I'm Renata Bliss and I'm your freestyle dance teacher. ♥I play this game for 20yrs for now...
The scenes in this are perfection. This was peak video game aesthetic.
Thanks, my favorite aesthetics as well. I do my best to make the game look as pretty and cinematic as possible.
My most favourite music from UT99. Sounds so damn awesome, and it probably exploded enough minds in 1999!
It's one of the best from the OST!
Not sure how to write a proper comment to this. But this represents something very meaningful in my childhood and my life till now and forever... Thanks for the video
Me too pretty much, such good times. Before gaming was ruled by a handful of giant corporations.
Astounding as always. Unreal engine skyboxes were something else man.
I love them too. Absolute perfection.
I've always loved the Spyro skyboxes
The batushka profile pic is awesome dude
Still playing this gem❤
It is one of the finest gems on earth
Every time I hear that part kick in at 1:20 I feel an immediate rush of well-being. It's like scratching an itch.
Как же скучаю по тем временам.
"Кровавая резняяяяяяя!" "Отсоси у бегемота!" "Гори, гори моя звезда..."
i appreciate the significance of the extra 3 minutes
It's so good, why not make it longer?
DM-Curse, DM-Agony...When the song kicks in at 1:20, you get that rush of shooting at everything that moves.
Nice work! :D
Thanks! I agree, the fragfest starts at 1:20 and then frags pretty hard all night.
1:20 is where the fragfest starts, 39:41 is where the raveparty begins )))

Glad you like it! I have many fond memories of this time in history.
This OST is simply magical, it's a sign of true goodness when you can listen to a videogame's music on its own and still thoroughly enjoy it!
Agreed, it is timeless music

I love this song. Brings back old nice memories. The style is mixed goa + progressive trance. Amazing.

you made this ut demo only gamers day

quake 2 has great metal and Unreal has atmospheric, both were great experience
Two of my favorites. Polar opposites musically for sure. Great thing about Unreal is you didn't need the 💿 in the drive for music.
Great song, please could you do the song Run from UT I beg you nostalgia hits me hard.
Thanks! I did Run earlier this year, check it out: th-cam.com/video/nRHrDvCBFjY/w-d-xo.html
it's nice, but it could be better imo, I don't like the drop, but the rest of the song is fine.
it's just my honest opinion, I like the original's drop better, but nice work regardless. keep going
So I keep notes about every song for future revisions. Are you talking about the transition at 0:24 in Run?

How do you remaster a Tracker file? Anyways, my favorite UT99 song. Awesome song to loop for driving..
You have to pull the original samples out of the tracker file and reconstruct the song in a modern DAW. Then the fun begins...
That rain...
Such great immersive atmosphere
Amazing
Music was second strong side of this masterpiece, first is great graphics of course😅
The music and graphics fuse together for an extra-sensory experience
